B&W 14.

"what brings you here?" The man smirked disgustingly making her insides quiver with anxiety and pain.

"I've come to see my mom" she said walking past him in the house with her fake facade of bravery. She knew he could see through it but what's the point in doing otherwise.

"Or have your husband not done it like me?" He mocked making her eyes burn with anger and tears, she felt him come closer and stand behind her.

"With what little you have to offer you can't even satisfy a fly let alone a human being" she found tht words tumbling out of her mouth. His smirk fell and his hands reached upto to grab her neck - her hands clenched and eyes shut tightly, waiting - but Safa made her appearance resulting him to stop and leave under his daughter's hard gaze.

"Wafa" Safa cheered embracing her breathless sister wanting to give her at least some comfort.

"Aapi" wafa breathed hugging her tightly. Her bag falling on the floor.

"How are you? How's everything?" Safa asked dragging her to sit on the couch in tht living room.

"Nothing right aapi. Sabra apa. He... He killed Sabra apa aapi" she hiccuped making Safa look at her confused.

"Who?" Safa asked confused.

"The... The shadow aapi. I told you he's after me. He's not gone aapi" she cried making Safa pull away from her stoically.

"Wafa. Are you hallucinating again?" Safa asked making wafa cry further more.

"I'm not making this up aapi" she cried making Safa sigh and rub her temples.

"Then what is this Wafa? You were okay the whole while you were in hostel and during your therapy sessions. Why is it that you always start doing this when you're in city?" Safa asked making wafa wipe her tears and sit up straight at the lack of affection in her tone.

"I may be making this up. I maybe mentally unstable but Buraak? He saw it with his own eyes. He's witnessed it. How can he hallucinate something as such." She semi-yelled making Safa stiff.

"Buraak? What does he have to do with this?" Safa yelled. She was already trouble by the things she had located far in the garden of their house and now wafa telling her this was only making it hard for her to accept reality.

With a thudding heart she had gotten a hold of the shirt tied and shredded, black threads tied it together in a ball. She undid it and had found Wafa's belongings in there, along with  hair, nails. The shirt was bloodied but with who's blood. Taking a deep breath she had taken the pocket to the backyard and burned it in hopes of undoing whatever it was. Only if she had known how much she had released and how much danger she had called upon them.

"I'm telling you there is something going on aapi and I also know it has something to do with your father" wafa accused making Safa shake her head in a state of uncertainty.

"I can't. What's going on?" Safa gasped standing up from her place. Her head was spinning and breath clogging her throat.

"Aapi? Aapi are you okay? Safa aapi. Ammi" wafa yelled seeing Safa grow blue, her hands clawing at her throat as if to prey away a chocking grip. Wags hurriedly called an ambulance but it was taking too long.

"Safa?" She heard the sound of Haleel sahab running to them.

"What have you done?" He yelled holding his daughter in his arms. Panic registered in his gaze as a deformed face came infront of his eyes.

"No" a broken whisper left his lips, loud, high-pitched laughter made the crystal vases shatter in the house. The base of the house starting shaking, a quake that only rocked their house.

The family ran out to there car to get Safa to the hospital but the car was burned to ashes.

"Faris. Faris bhai" wafa tumbled with her phone and tried calling him but he didn't answer the phone. The ambulance arrived and they boarding Safa in when her mother had pulled her away.

"You're not going anywhere with her. It's all your fault" she yelled making wafa shake her head. She tried getting in with them but they left her behind.

"Buraak" she cried dialling his number but no one picked it up. She tried again anxiety gnawing at her stomach. The hair on her neck stood up, a rush of cold enveloped her and an acidic sensation ran down her spine.

"Now no one can you save you from me Wafa"

That was all she heard before everything went black.

Slow whispers and hushed voices were all his ears could grab before he found himself starting to feel his limbs.

A dull ache rocked his head making a sound of pain escape past his lips. Holding his head in hand he sat up feeling light headed.

Focusing his eyes around he found officer Hatim and Zaakir around him.

"What... What happened?" He asked making them share a look together.

"Good evening" Hatim said making him raise his eyebrows, confused.

"You got in an accident" Zaakir replied rolling his eyes at the man.

"I know that much. I can feel it but what happened afterwards?" He asked scoffing in pain.

"Well..." Zaakir started but didn't know how to deliver the news to him.

"What happened? Is wafa okay?" He asked panic rising in his chest, heart accelerating.

"Buraak. I want you to listen to me carefully. Relax okay" Hatim said making him feel dread and pain all at once.

"Spit it out" he yelled.

"Your sister.... Your sister in law...."

"What? What happened to Safa?" He asked making them exchange concerned glances.

"She.... She passed away two hours ago." Hatim said making his blood freeze in his veins.

"What kind of a sick joke is this?" He yelled standing up from his place but he stumbled back clutching his head.

"Buraak. Relax"

"Relax?" He yelled.

"What happened? How all of a sudden? What?!" He yelled feeling tears gather in his eyes.

"The reasons not proven. She was brought here hours back right before you, all her test reports were okay, doctors aren't able to prove the cause of death apart from lung failure" Zaakir explained.

He sat there numb, he couldn't feel his limbs. How was this possible? He had just dropped wafa there. Wafa. Where's she?

"Wafa? Where's Wafa? I have to see her" he said getting up again but the looks on the men's faces made his heart stop.

"Hatim" he gulped dreading the news they were holding back.

"She." Hatim looked at Zaakir for help but he was as helpless as him.

"What the fuck are you hiding from me?" He yelled clutching Hatim's collar.

"She's missing"

Missing?

Wafa's missing.

Safa's not alive anymore.

What's happening?

He didn't get any answers before the exhaustion made him collapse again. Darkness enveloped him with a nagging sound of someone's cry and another of someone's vile laugh aching his head...........
