“believing is hard after the ones who taught you how to trust broke it first”
"I'm trying to win my wife. The woman who's not afraid to be my equal. The one I want to see for the rest of my whole life...."
Huda was stunned, she could only stare at the man standing infront of her. Her heart was screaming danger and so was her brain. Who was he to her even? A husband only by contract? A man who had touched in ways she hadn't been ever? A man she barely knew?
"I know. I know what we share is far from what husband and wife feel. I know we both know nothing about eachother. I know our marriage was a contract but every marriage is. The people involved have to make it work and I'm willing to give this a chance. To give us a chance" he said stepping closer to her holding her hands in his. They were trembling in his hold and warming up.
"W... we're not meant to work out. There is nothing to give a chance to" she said pulling her hands away from his hold and stepping back. She hadn't even taken two steps back when he had pulled her back and this time locking her in his arms.
Her breathing hitched and body stiff. She didn't look into his eyes because what she felt was something she wouldn't ever feel. This wasn't who she was.
"Huda. This nothing that we share, I want to make this something worth keeping, worth staying together for. Look at me." He said cupping her face and pulling it up so he could meet her eyes.
"I won't claim that I love you. Love is too extreme for what we have, but I will say that I want you. I want you near me. Beside me. With me all the damn time. I want to keep you in my sight for some unknown reason that it fucks me up every time I think about it." He said caressing her cheek making her almost melt in his hold. His arm tightening around her waist as his gaze hardened looking into her eyes.
"I'm too selfish to let you go. If I can't love you then I most certainly can't let go of you either" his voice a tone deeper than usual, fingers digging in her waist.
"Aaban stop your nonsense at once. First of all I'm not a property you can keep chained to your name not you toy that you can keep for however long you want" she said pushing him back. Her chest was aching from the sudden rush of anxiety, she wanted to let it all go and fall into his trap but it was about time she stopped falling into people's sweet talks.
That's what they did. Sugar coating everything in their favour and leaving her to aid for her own self. All they ever knew was to take and take only.
Her heart, her trust, her wealth, her positivity, everything. They took it. They all of it leaving her empty handed and bitter. The caramel syrup she pouted instead of her words once was now the most deadliest venoms knows to mankind.
"I will. I will keep you tied to me. You're mine, today, tommorow and forever whether you like it or not. I won't let you leave after igniting a fire in me that can't be satisfied by any means of water. You can't say you don't feel the way I do. You're my wife and I plan to keep it that way" he yelled pulling her into his grasp.
"You—" her protest was swallowed by a pair of rough lips devouring her own. His hand curled on her nape angling her head as he pleased. Her hands fisted his collar and tried preying him off of herself but his hold tightened around her unabling her any move.
He tasted her lips like a drug addict. A taste so divine he couldn't think of even living without it. Something so serene that it always left him craving for more. He couldn't get enough of her and it scared him to no limits.
He pulled away breathing heavily. His forehead against hers, their eyes closed as their breaths mingled together. Slowly their opened and met eachother's unwavering gaze. His hand came up and cupped her face caressing her cheek with his thumb lightly thriving in the feeling of her soft skin against the skin of his rugged snd calloused palm.
"Accept it. Accept the fact that you're not leaving me. I won't stop till you accept me and what little I have to offer. Life is too hard to be fought alone. Let me in gradually. Slowly. No rush intended. A chance is all fate is asking. A single chance to make things better or even worse we'll see on the go. Six months. We've spend a year hating eachother, let's spend these six months trying to tolerate one another?" he whispered barely being able to speak any louder. His brown eyes stared into her black ones searching for an answer, even a flicker of acceptance. And he saw it. He saw it as her lips moved and she spoke out in the fragile bubble they had build against eachother.
"What possible harm could six months bring?" she said looking into his eyes with a challenging spark and that's when he smirked.
"We'll see. If one of us don't end up dead by the end of these six months" she continued and pulled away.
"I'm pretty sure I'll survive." He said spanking her. She turned around glaring at him and punching him hard in the abdomen making him hunch over groaning in pain.
"I'm not so sure about your statement professor" she said turning towards the coffee table where food was placed neatly. She sat down after washing her hands and mouth completely to eat.
Aaban joined her shortly after not before pecking her lips once again much to her annoyance. She wiped his kiss away but he replaced with another one.
"If you keep on wiping them away I don't mind keep on giving them" he said taking her chin in his grasp and turning her head towards him. She rolled her eyes and turned to her food.
They both had their dinner together in between their arguments and fights but at the end of the nigh it was all buried under the soulful taste of chocolate cupcakes that Aaban had oh so sweetly brought along.
"How about we —" he was following her to her room when she shut the door at his face.
The corner of his lips tugged upwards and he swayed back to his room feeling a new kind of excitement bubble in him.
The whole night two souls stayed awake feeling their hearts tremble reminiscing the words exchanged earlier. The fear and excitement of the unknown was eating them up on the inside.
Time slipped from their fist like sand and the starry night bled into sunny days with both of them teasing and troubling the others existence. A week had already gone by with little to no progress between them.
The sun showered it's harmless cool rays on the city of Istanbul, reflecting perfectly on the surface of the ocean and slipping into the windows of her apartment they witnessed the two adults trying to live normally.
"Like what you see professor?" She asked not looking up from her iPad. She could feel his heated gaze on herself making her heart thump in her chest loudly.
She looked up sipping her coffee, raising an eyebrow at him. His eyes feel down from hers to her lips, traveling down the length of her neck to her cleavage that peaked from the laced bodice she wore over her fitted black slacks. The black lace looked ethereal against the tan of her skin and the shimmering highlight on her shoulders and collarbones.
"Would like it more without all these layer but for the meantime I can work with this" he said looking over the rim of his cup meeting her gaze.
"I don't know if I could say the same about you or not" she shrugged getting up from her seat and rising to her full height, an addition of few inches thanks to her heels.
"For further surveys you can book an appointment" he leaned back in his chair easing on it.
"I don't see myself choosing that option I think I'll pass" she was about to walk past she was pulled back directly into his lap. Her eyebrows raised in amusement feeling his hands make their way round her waist.
"But I don't think I can" he whispered in her ear, nibbling on her earlobe.
"Aaban I'm getting la—" her words broke as his hand shifted to her thigh caressing it's way in between them and upwards.
While his hand rubbed itself against her his lips tortured the skin of her neck. He made his way to her collarbones kissing and nibbling on her skin making her bite her lips to stop any sound to escape her lips.
His grip tightened on her thigh as with a final squeeze he let her go. Her face flushed at the non stop fluttering of her stomach and the burning in her core was making it hard for her to some back to her sense.
"Bothered much. Now are we?" She glared at him as he smirked easing himself against the chair. His fingers drawing patterns on her waist and thighs making her heart flutter in her ribcage.
"Aaban" she whispered, cooing him with a teasing spark in her eyes. His hand tightened around her as she made herself comfortable on his lap, straddling him.
Her arms wounded around his neck, fingers twriling his hair around them, tugging at them and running her fingers in his thick dark locks.
"Aren't you getting late now?" He asked groping her hips pulling her close to himself.
"Why leave without teaching you a lesson?" Her eyes fell to his lips, soft, plum and pink. She looked into his eyes once and leaned in taking his lips into a teasing slow kiss. Her hand held his jaw angling it as she pleased, caressing his stubble.
The other hand tugged his hair back lightly, her teeth nibbled his lips making him pull her flush against himself groaning at the sweet torture.
She left his lips making her way down his neck. She could feel the tension building under her making her smirk and put more pressure on his crouch making his curse lowly.
His hands roamed in her back a second away from ripping the bodice off she pulled away. The sudden movement made the chair to sway back and fall taking a hazy Aaban down with it.
He glared at her looking pained almost. Her smirk widened at the marks she had left on his neck and shoulders.
"Bothered much? Now are we?" She mocked leaving him behind making him curse as he got up but by that time all he heard was a hearty chuckl and the door clicking shut.
"This woman" he punched the table making the crockery clink against eachother.
