In the silence of early morning he made his way to his room after an awakening shower. Rubbing his hair dry he walked in his room and rummaged through his office to find the latest contract file but he couldn't

His eyebrows furrowed and he rolled his eyes sighed deeply. Trying to search his mails for the documents he licked his lips and bit it in annoyance.

Picking up his phone he dialled a number he dreaded to ever dial. The call forwarded, the bell rang and he waited for her to pick it up. It was hardly six in the morning on a Sunday and he felt no regrets while calling her again when she didn't pick up the first time.

A shrill ring resounded in the air, followed by the shuffling of sheets, the moon witnessed a mess of brown locks tangling together on her head she tried making her way out of the maze they made around her eyes.

"Ugh.. God" she grunted pushing her hair out of her sight, searching for her phone.

"Hello" she said without a second glance at the number she knew nothing of at first glance.

Her groggy voice made its way to his ears and he brought his cup upto his lips before speaking.

"I want you at my house within an hour with the car capital shoot, file and other details"

The person on the other end said something but Ayat was far too gone in her sleep that barely held on to consciousness.

"Hello" he said listening to calm breaths, a sigh a content and shuffling. Pulling the phone away from his ear and stared at the ascending numbers on the screen.

"Miss Ayat" he said but didn't hear a reply in return.

He heard a low hum, soft and innocent enough to make him wish to have a visual look of what was on the other side. A spark of curiosity and shiver spread a warm coating in his heart.

Shaking his head and stoning his expression he yelled her name loudly hearing a gasp from the the other end.

The line went still and her hazy mind kept numb till her eyebrows furrowed and a frown etched her face, opening one eye and covering the other with her hand she begged for mercy at her phones intense brightness.

"Who the hell is this?" She yelled in frustration, her heart beating ferociously in her ribcage.

A thick eyebrow rose in question at the side change of her innocent voice that now sounded deeper than before or usual.

"Bring my the contract for car capital, in an hour. I hope I'm clear this time" he said clenching his jaw and disconnecting the call. It had been only a day and he wasn't able to find anything on his own. This woman clearly messed his arrangements around and now he was paying the consequences.

She sat up staring at the number, eyes begging to close and they almost gave up till her phone rang again and she groaned.

"What?"

"Bring me some breakfast also"

"Who exactly are ordering around? What am I your wife?" She said mindlessly, her head spinning from being woken up so brutally.

"Why are you looking for an opportunity to?" He mused, a smirk tugging at his lips. His heart fluttered and he scoffed at the fluttering in his stomach.

"I'm not that unfortunate, am I?" He heard her mumble before the line went dead and he glared at the screen.

"It's a Sunday" she cried slamming the phone on her bed. She couldn't sleep last night by the thought of things that lined up for her to do. People she had to win over and things she had to keep hidden. Watching a complete season of a show on netflix to divert her mind from things wasn't of any help now either.

Waiting for a few minutes and scrolling through her instagram she let herself defrost before finally getting up to change out of her night suit.

Quickly changing into a pair of washed jeans and a white dress shirt she tied her hair in an easy french do - that she learned on tiktok - she spilled on her chunky sneakers and grabbed her stuff before walking out of the apartment.

The day was just about to start and she frowned at the timing. Putting the address he had sent in her GPS she started her way to his house, watching as the sun rose up that horizon greeting her with his soothing warmth.

Yawning again she focused on not crashing car and dying more than the documents she didn't remember if she had picked up or not.

"I probably did" she yawned and slowed down once in the neighborhood.

Looking around she stopped in front of a modern looking house painted a light color of grey with a glass wall facing the front.

The guard on duty opened the iron gates and she was let in after a confirmation from the boss. Taking her messenger bag and the stupid breakfast she walks inside the house admiring the house and the luscious garden that looked heavenly this early in the morning.

A groan escaped her lips as she realized it was a Sunday and her boss was a jerk.

"Hello" she greeted the butler -thats what she assumed he was - who nodded and lead her inside.

"Sir will be downstairs in a minute while you cab settled down here." he informed making her pass him a polite smile and plop down on the couch sighing heavily.

"Uh..." She called the man but stopped as she didn't know his name.

"Sir can you... Take this and serve it out. Its Mr Qureshi's breakfast"

"Sure. Anything else"

"Sorry I'm like... you know... Disturbing but can i get something to drink please?" she asked feeling awkward for asking someone's help. Her hands trembled as he left and she chuckled dryly at them.

"He's not gonna eat you alive it's his job" she consoled herself and sat back down on the sofa.

She bit her lip looking around, no knowing what to do except for thanking the man who brought her a glass of chilled juice along with a muffin. She pouted in delight and thanked him with a bright smile.

"My names Aaron though" he smiled making her face warm up.

"I'm Ayat" she introduced shaking his hand. The man nodded and left.

"He seems nice" she smiled at his back.

"Talking to yourself again" she gasped at the sudden presence of a deep voiced man.

"You—" she was about to something but she stopped and gave him a small smile.

"Good morning" she sang grinning at him sarcastically and he coughed back his smirk and settled down on the couch across from her.

"Good morning indeed" he mused making her roll her eyes.

"Here's the file." She clenched her teeth trying to keep in the yawn that fought to escape.

"Are you alright?" He asked making her narrow her eyes and nod. Her mind growing hazy with sleep clouding her senses.

"Yes. I am. Why wouldn't I be after you woke me up with such kindness" she snapped making him laugh at her remark.

She rolled her eyes and bit her lip in annoyance, his eyes fell on her red lip that was swelling by her constantly chewing on it, turning an alluring shade of red.

"Do you need anything?" She asked turning to him making him snap out of his reverie. His breath came out uneven as his gaze once again fell to her lips and then went back to her eyes, his Adam's apple bobbling.

"Yes" he cleared his throat sitting straighter and went through the file.

Seeing her attention turn to him he looked back in her eyes, melting pools of honey greeted him, the red streaks in her eyes didn't go unnoticed by him and she saw how she clenched her eyes shut and opened them again.

"You don't seen alright?"

"For someone who hadn't slept a wink I'm pretty sure I'll survive a few more hours" her brain didn't have any control over her mouth this morning and it was amusing and infuriating at the same time.

"Sort these things in the recent email we have to sent to the client and make it quick" he said coldly not wanting to look at the way her hair was falling out of her clip.

"Alright" she sighed taking her laptop out and turning it on.

"I brought your breakfast. I gave it Aaron" she said turning to him and a hint of a smirk tugged at the corner of his lips.

What am I your wife?

Her words ringing in his ear but he choose to ignore the slip of her tongue and shook his head.

"Can you go bring it?" He asked turning back to his own laptop. Her eyes zeroed on his sculpted face. She felt envious of the lashes he sported and huffed at the injustice between girls and boys.

What do men even do to deserve good lashes?

Her eyes went further down to his almost perfect side profile, almost. He still didn't appeal her as whole. She still disliked him.

Her eyes trailed down to the robe that covered his body, tan skin peeling out the front and she looked away from the sight. Her beating in a manner it shouldn't for her.

"Where's the kitchen?" She asked feeling her face heat up. He bit back the urge to take her face in his hand and untuck the lip that he loved torturing.

Reaching over he cupped her face and her movement stopped, wide honey shaded eyes stared at him while he stared at her lips, a growl ripped through his throat as his thumb advanced to her lower lip pulling it out of the clutches of her teeth, caressing the softness firmly. His gaze darkened and he shoved the gadget off of his lap and pulled her closer, his lips a breath away from her and—

He blinked as she waved her hand infront of him, snapping her fingers. Her big eyes looked around repeating her question and he cleared his throat before gesturing where the kitchen was.

The thought in his mind played out enchantingly, his thumb itching to feel the rawness of her lip that she chewed at more than one would to seem attractive.

The poor thing

He thought.

"Take your things there. Work from there" he snapped coldly making her stop in her tracks and roll her eyes before turning around and beading down to take her things.

A glint of silver caught his eye and he found himself lost in the delicacy of the infinity pendant that hung from her neck. A diamond shining brightly in thr place where the cross of the loop is.

"The least you could've said was a Thank you" she grumbled as she walked away to the kitchen leaving him to punch the cushion in annoyance.

"Your breakfast sir" Aaron said making an appearance from the kitchen.

"Thank you" he said taking the plate from him. A sandwich and hash browns greeted him and he shrugged at the meal.

Finishing his meal he thought if she had eaten anything but thought that she might've eaten something on the way.

You didn't technically give her enough time.

His conscience said but he shrugged the thought away.

Hours later his pc pinged and he read through the renewed contract she had mailed him. Satisfied he sent her a reply stating she can leave but even when half an hour later she didn't come out he rose an eyebrow at the entrance of the kitchen. A phone rang in the surrounding and his eyebrows furrowed.

"It's not mine" he whispered checking his phone. His eyes fell on the small bag on the couch and he contemplated checking if it was hers.

It rang again and he took it out of her purse.

My moon.

His gaze hardened and his jaw clenched at the caller I'd.

Who could she have given such a name?

His eyes narrowed. Not being able to take it anymore he answered the call.

"Hello Ayat" a male voice said with urgency and his hands fisted.

"Who's this?" He asked making the man on the other side frown.

"Who are you? Where's Ayat" The man asked. A hint of panic present in the man's voice and Zaviyar's brows furrowed.

"I'm her boss. She's busy" he was about to hang up when the man stopped him.

"Please. I have to talk to her. It's an emergency."

"Is everything okay?" Zaviyar asked. The man in the other end thought over if he should answer his question or not and decided on the latter.

"Yes. Please hand her the phone"

"She's busy I'll tell her to call you back" Zaviyar said and the man gave an affirmative answer. Glaring at the phone he refrained from smashing it on the ground out of anger and walked to the kitchen.

"Ayat" he called and his heart skipped a beat, he repeated the name to himself and mentally glared at himself to even let himself think of her as such.

His steps faltered as he found her hunched over on the island, her head resting on her crossed arms and hair falling over her face.

He walked towards her figure and sat down on the stool next to hers. His fingers itched to move the strands that caressed her lips and fell over her face like a waterfall of caramel.

Long fingers moved over her face, pushing the strands away slowly, making sure not to wake her up.

Her skin soft under his fingertips and her soft responsive sigh made him lick his lips and tilt his head to his left to have a better look at her chubby face.

Lips pouted and slightly open, lashes kissing her cheek bones and eyes rimmed red. He didn't realize his finger we're running themselves through her hair - that's felt like the softest of silk he had touched - till her phone rang again and she moaned turning her face away from his view.

He glared at the same contact and shook her awake coldly. She jolted up and wiped the corner of her mouth with her sleeve.

"You have a call" he seethed making her face burn in embarrassment of her state. Taking her phone from his hands her eyes widened and a beautiful smile adorned her face.

"Hello" she said with a new found sweetness and adoration in her voice that made his hand fist in rage and he stormed out of the place before he could hear anymore of her nonsense.

Ayat grinned widely at the caller, but her heart stopped when someone on the other end whimpered in their small voice.

"Mama"
