Both Sides of my Soul?
Authors notes: UnderTale and Deltarune are owned by Toby Fox. The only Character I own is the Main Character OC and Juna I made for this story. This is a work of fiction any character/s that may seem based on someone or something you own is a coincidence. Also any other AU that I may base a story element around is their respective owners'. I only use them in right of fair use do not comment saying I stole an idea or property, thank you. Also seeing as many AUs have been stolen I couldn't find the original owners of some and I will not be saying which AUs I am using for the story elements. (EvoTale is one of my AUs it's about rushed and artificial evolution.)
It wasn't long before Ink and Error came back, as they walked back to the skeleton house. Sans had the time to explain what was going on, and the strange bone chilling aura that washed over Dee. Ink: "I see, it definitely sounds like their being targeted." Error: "If I had to guess, this time it was 404." Sans: "404?" Ink: "What makes you say that Ruru?" Error: "Cause, I don't feel his presence. He's not watching me anymore, like at all, I guess he can't stop nothingness either." Evo-Sans: "I'm confused, we talking about the same kid that I'm supposed to train?" Ink: "Yup!" Evo-Sans: "That's not worrying at all..." Sans: "They're harmless mostly." Error: "After Evo gets done training them, it's my turn." Sans: "Your turn, why would they need training from you?" Error: "There's a good reason half of their soul is black, and half is white. White is a combination of every color, and black is the opposite, an absence of color." Evo: "Creation and destruction?" Sans: "But what about the gold?" Error and Ink looked at each other and then back to Sans, their nervousness not giving Sans a good feeling. Meanwhile back at the skeleton house, Monic was being dropped off, as Undyne explained to everyone there what was going on with the fallen, fallen children. Toriel took it upon herself to teach the new skeletons about magic, and so she get out an orb to test Monic's affinity. Toriel: "Oh my, you have a very, very high affinity to fire magic, as well as some for electrical magic." Monic: "Of course that's how it is. I freaking burn to death and have like a mega fire affinity, thanks Universe!" Toriel: "You are not scared of fire cause of that are you?" Monic: "No... just annoyed at the irony." Frisk: "I get that, I wanted to kill myself and now I can reset time." Everyone looked at Frisk with wide eyes, shocked to here about this power. Frisk: "What? I haven't used it much!" Toriel: "My child you are not in trouble, it is just shocking to hear that is all." Papyrus: "So Human Frisk, how many times have you had to reset?" Frisk: "Well none, I only had to load a few times in the ruins cause of the traps." Juna: "Ooh, so it's like a video game? Can you save too?" Frisk: "Yea, my last save was last night."
Once Sans and the others returned, Papyrus noticed something was off with Sans but didn't say anything. He guessed seeing a human looking version of himself was to blame. Once Dee had woken up Evo-Sans got to work, and started training them to control their transformations. At first it looked as if Dee didn't even have a transformation, the training was hard and long and no progress was made for the first week. Then the second week had small progress, and after a month they could transform at will. It was worth the wait, but there were some small issues, Dee could never create a Male human form, and that annoyed them. Though it wasn't a problem in the long run, everyone still wondered why that was. After Evo left with Ink and Error, they were thinking of throwing a small party as congratulations for Dee learning so fast. Only for Frisk to wake up in bed, the night of the sleep over, the night before Monic was resurrected. Freaking out she bolted to the living room, almost waking up Juna and Dee. Looking around she saw Sans and Papyrus in the kitchen. Sans: "Woah kid, where's the fire?" Papyrus: "Are you okay Human Frisk?" Frisk: "I don't... I... I don't know." Papyrus and Sans looked at each other, nodded, and turned back to Frisk. Sans: "This about that Load that just happen?" Frisk looked at the two of them with very wide eyes, the red glow of determination reflexing off of the dark walks of the living room. Papyrus: "By your reaction just now, I would have to say it was not you're doing was it?" Frisk nodded. Frisk: "I didn't even pull up the menu, I just woke up in Papyrus's bed with Dee and Juna." Talking it over it seemed like Frisk really didn't hit the button, what's more Chara didn't touch it either. It was a mystery, in a riddle, tied up in an enigma, not knowing what else to do they just went to bed. The next Day monic arrived as before, the difference Sans was there to greet him and Dee wasn't targeted. Dee also asked about the Reload but got the same answers as the others, nothing. Juna and Monic seemed unaware of what happened as did the others. And Dee remembered their training so they could still transform at will.
With no answers and nothing to work on, they decided it was best to pretend nothing ever happened for now. Not really knowing what else to do Dee practiced by creating small toys for the kids in Snowdin. It was around this time Error came to pick them up, confused Dee took Error's hand and they wisped away to the Anti-void. Dee: "What's going on?" Ink: "Well firstly, I'd like that potion please." Remembering their promise Dee indeed created a gender reversing potion, which Ink greedily chugged down. Soon after Ink began screaming as they glowed a blue that slowly turned pink. After it was over Ink stood tall, and was a few inches shorter. Ink: "Wow that really hurt... OOH! Error listen to my new voice it's so cute!" Error: "Yea, yea, you're always cute though Inky." Ink: "Ooh I like the new nick name, thanks Dee!" Ink hugged Dee hard their back popping loudly before they were let go. Error: "Welp, guess I'll have to get used to this." Dee: "Same." Ink: "Anyway, before anything else." Pulling out a large party popper Ink set it off spraying the Anti-void with a mess of confetti and glitter. Error: "INK! YOU SAID YOU WEREN'T GOING TO USE THAT THING!" Ink: "Oops, I forgot." Error: "Heh, same old Squid." The genuine loving smile the two shared was something new to Dee, clearing their throat they asked what that was for. Ink: "Well, we decided to adopt you as our nephew/niece. And wanted to know with that was okay." Looking at the both of them, Dee was filled with something new. A kind of familial warmth they had never knew or had long forgotten. They had to move their mask to wipe away their rainbow tears, tears this time of Happiness instead of sorrow. (Dee's tears are rainbow due to their soul being equal in every trait) Excepting them both as their Aunt and Uncle, Dee asked if they could call the two of them as such. Of course they agreed with no hesitation.
Error: "Well then, now that, that's out of the way. You and me are going to go work." Dee: "Work, what do you mean?" Error: "You've pretty much master creation, but you've yet to work on the other half of your soul." Dee: "The other half of my soul?" Ink: "That's right, thanks to you I see that the Multiverse needs but creation and destruction. And your Soul is the perfect embodiment of the two sides. You need to work both sides to be in balance, just like the multiverse." Dee: "I need to use both sides of my Soul?" Error: "Yup, so you and me are going to go do our job. I found a place in the doodle sphere so stagnate even Ink forgot about it. It's the perfect place to start working on the other side of your job." Dee: "I don't understand... You both keep saying my jobs, my jobs. I thought I was supposed to fix D-ScapeTale not go around destroying AUs and stuff." Ink: "Well like I said, you're both, you'll have to help make AUs and help destroy them." Dee: "But why?! I was dragged into D-ScapeTale to fix it, that's all, not to make or destroy AUs." Ink: "To be fair, up till now you have helped make some AUs, you just didn't realize it. And you may need to fix other unstable AUs in the future." Dee: "You're still not telling me why though!" Error: "Cause you're a....G'AHH!!" Before Error could finish he was floored, left winded and gasping for air. Concerned Dee hurried over and helped their new Uncle up. Dee: "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry!" Error: "Hey now, it's not your fault." Dee was left once more crying this time out of concern and fear. Dee: "It is though, I asked questions, that 404 guy said something was stopping people from answering and I asked anyway." Ink and Error were stunned at how child like Dee had become. Remembering back when they first met, Ink was concerned Dee was soulless from their seeming lack of emotions. But now, not only were they showing true concern for someone, they were crying, genuinely crying over someone else's pain. The two of them pulled Dee into a family hug, and reassured them it wasn't their fault. After everything calmed down Error asked Dee to check his stats, confused Dee did just that. Status Box: "Name: Web Dings Caster, aka W.D. Caster, aka Dee. Lv 0, HP 1,000,000,000,000/1,000,000,000,000. EXP:000000000." Dee: "WHAT HAPPENED TO MY STATS?!" Error: "Congrats, your like me, and Ink now." Ink: "YOU'RE A GOD!" Dee: "WHAT?! I don't wanna be a God!" Error: "It's not like you're the only one, there's Abyss, Ink..." Dee: "That wasn't my point, I..." Ink: "Hey if you're worried you remember you've met another god already?" Dee: "I have, where, when?" Ink: "In YesterTale, Frisk the goddess of time. They were living normally on the surface with everyone, you don't have to make a watchtower or lookout or anything. You can live with everyone and be normal." Error: "It's true, and we'll be here with you, you have nothing to worry about promise." Dee: "Okay... it's not like I have a choice anyway. Aunty, Uncle, thanks." Giving a big sigh Dee said let's go before he and Error left, Ink for some reason felt bad about everything. Ink: "Hey, I know you're watching, no not you readers. The Creator, I get what you're doing, but... if you hurt them. I'll find a way to kick your butt."
Meanwhile in the stagnate section of the Doodle Sphere, Error and Dee where about to begin working. Dee: "The air here feels gross." Error: "That's cause it's so stagnated, all of these AUs are only taking up precious resources the Multiverse Needs to survive." Dee: "So how do we do this, the whole destroyer thing?" Error: "You pick an AU, grab the piece of paper and poof, you are in the AU. Then you just start destroying it till it collapses into the Abyss, then the resources are given back to the Multiverse to create something new." Dee: "What's the Abyss?" Error looked at a loss for words on how to explain. Error: "It's hard to explain." Dee: "So we can't destroy AUs from the outside?" Error: "We could, but that leads to issues, like survivors and other glitches being born. It's better to do it from the inside to avoid that." Looking through the Papers of the AUs Dee saw something, a large Book. Dee: "What's that?" Pointing out the Book Error looked at it and looked nervous for a second. Error: "That's a different UT Multiverse, it's way to early to try and go to other Multiverses. For now let's pick an AU and get to work." Dee was shocked to hear that there were other Multiverses, though it made sense to think about. As they picked a piece of paper Dee couldn't help but ponder the differences between one Multiverse and the Next. After grabbing a paper the two of them were transported into an AU, it appeared to be after a pacifist run and there where a few differences to the OG timeline. Like the fact Frisk was an anthropomorphic Fox for who knows what reason. Dee: "This so cringe...." Error: "Tell me about it..." Dee: "Okay how do we start." Dee said sighing loudly. Error: "This one should be simple, do want me to show you how it's done before you have to do it yourself?" Dee: "Quick question, why is my Lv 0 and the EXP is grayed out like its not a thing?" Error: "Oh that's cause you can't gain EXP at all." Dee: "I already hate this..." Error: "Just sat back and watch me work for a few AUs and then I'll show you one I know you can handle yourself." Unknown AU's Sans: "I couldn't help over here that conversation buddy, if you think I'm going to let you two walk in and destroy everything. You are dead wrong..."
This AU's sans was like the original in every way but two, he had a wolf tail, and instead of bones he used Claws or fangs. Honestly the fight itself was kind of boring, Error had so much experience fighting other Sanses he beat him in just 5 turns. After that he made easy work of each monster he came across. Dee: "I don't get how this is going to erase the universe." Error: "Well first we get rid of anyone in our way." He said this while Blasting through Snowdin town. Error: "Then we go to the Core, and blow it up." Dee: "What why?!" Error: "You'll see.." Error said with a weirdly kind smile, like an uncle with a surprise gift. Making their way to the core, Error did as he stated and blasted it with everything he had. This caused the core to unsurprisingly explode, but what happened next was a surprise. The Core reset, the code of the universe was on full display for a few seconds. Error: "So there you are..." Throwing his Strings into the lava Error pulled out a section of Code, in an instant Error and Dee were transported to the AU's Code Lines. Dee: "Where are we, what is all this?" Error: "We're in this universe's code, now all I have to do is..." Summoning a blaster Error shot into the code, soon the entire code chain was collapsing in on itself and being destroyed. The universe itself was sucked down into an abyss of seeming nothingness, before leaving it an anti-void. Returning to the Doodle Sphere, Dee saw the piece of Paper crumble into nothing and vanish into what looked like water. Looking at Error, Dee waited for an explanation, instead Error simply grabbed another piece of paper and repeated the process. Doing this a few more times before stating it was Dee's turn, Dee could only gulp nervously.
