Epilogue 02
I opened the box and looked at the dagger. My hand trembled as I reached out towards it. The heavy blade had an eerie chill, sending shivers down my spine.
I held the weapon with both hands, pointing the blade at my heart. I took a deep breath, praying hard that the fortune teller had been telling the truth. I certainly did not want to die in both worlds. I turned to the window and looked at the bright moon in the sky. It was a beautiful night to end my life, I joked.
With fervent conviction, I plunged the dagger hard into my heart. Pain radiated throughout my body and I buckled under my own weight. Warm, sticky blood flowed down my hands and I began to regret my decision. Dying was painfully slow.
Breathing became shallow and my senses began to elude me. I blinked; everything was black.
After what seemed like an eternity, I opened my eyes and a wave of nausea overwhelmed me. I retched violently.
"The anaesthesia is wearing off. The effects should pass soon."
"Ahh ..." I groaned. "I am back for good." Smiling triumphantly, I drifted off to sleep.
