Zarlo was always a nice kid. He had an easy smile and a soft touch. He enjoyed doing things that his father disapproved of, calling them 'girly' things. Zarlo made friends with a lot of the girls, whilst his sister was always fighting with the boys. She always teased him for being emotional and easy to read, but would protect him no matter what.

Does it go like this?-
Zarlo loved to learn new things. He was a natural at a lot of things, like weaving, although he was not allowed to learn it properly. Any lessons he would get were from Zay, and she wasn't the greatest teacher.

Absolutely, I called him Olraz-
Zarlo loved his spirit animal to pieces. Olraz was there for him when no one else was. The snake was like an extension of himself. And he was very proud of the name choice, although Zay thought it was terrible and stupid.

Please don't fight!-
Zarlo hated fighting. He couldn't stand angry shouting, it made him anxious. He avoided arguments as much as he could, which made him an easy person to manipulate.

No violence!-
Building off the arguments, Zarlo hated actual fights even more. Given that he was a boy in a society that didn't tolerate weakness, he was often forced to fight. This is one of the reasons he hated it so much.

Shh!-
Zarlo was very stealthy. He had a lot of practice with sneaking around, so being silent became second nature to him very quickly. It was really funny when he would accidentally sneak up on Zay and scare the crap out of her, not realizing he was so quiet.

This is wrong-
Zarlo had a very good sense of what is right and wrong. He hated going against it, but sometimes he would have no choice. Like when he joined the Conquerors.

What about me?-
Jealousy was Zarlo's biggest weakness. He encountered it often in his childhood, when Zay got to do things that he wanted to do. He could be nasty when he was jealous, but always felt bad about it afterward.

I'm not gonna win this one-
Despite his training, Zarlo had never been a good fighter. He always held back too much, feared hurting his opponents. It made him a liability in battle, but he would rather been known for it hurting people than for hurting them.
