Chapter 8: Banned from CyberSpace

Three hours have passed since Axle was incapacitated by Wyatt. During the duration of that time window Wyatt, Juliette, Rebecca and Carly all watched Axle, wondering what was wrong with him. They knew about his problems and had him go to a psychiatrist to help with his mental state after the Eight Thirty Two incident. He showed signs of getting better but Carly clearly wasn't buying it. She knew all to well that Axle had been lying to them. He did that before when lying to his therapist about his depression getting better around the time when they first met. That was when Carly witnessed Axle attempting suicide and when he revealed that he was lying to his mother. Because of that Carly knew that the problem was much worse than the others realised and probably more than Axle himself realised.

Axle though was in a black void. Thoughts of nothing but darkness was plaguing his fragile mind. He had no idea what he was doing there. He would often be there when the faces of the dead weren't haunting him. He really felt pitiful.

"I think he's coming to." Rebecca's voice was heard in the darkness. Axle perched his head up and looked around. He was wondering why he heard Rebecca's voice but that thought soon disappeared when another voice was heard. "Good, we're gonna have to have a serious talk with him." Wyatt's voice was now heard. He figured out that he was waking up now.

"What's wrong with him?" Juliette's voice was the next to be heard, he was worried. Did the discover thay he was lying about his recovery? If they did he was wondering how. The only one who could've possibly known was his mother but she died... but then he realised it, someone was with him when he confessed to his mother. Carly was there, she could've told them.. "I think I know... but he should be the one to say." Carly's voice was the last to be heard before Axle woke up. There was no avoiding this now. It was time to man up and tell them.

"What happened? And why's my face wrapped in bandages?" Axle asked as he felt his face when he felt something funny on it, immediately discoving his face was wrapped up like a mummy.

"We need to talk." Wyatt said and Axle noticed that Juliette and Rebecca were there as well, not to mention Carly too. He was in deep shit now since no good conversation in the history of conversations has ever started with the words 'We need to talk'.

"What about?" Axle asked as he tried playing dumb but Carly could see through the act. "Your breakdowns Axle," Carly said bluntly, "I think I speak for everyone here when I say that we're worried."

He looked down, refusing to look at them as guilt and shame washed over his entire body like a cold shower. "What's wrong Axle?" Juliette worriedly asked her foster son. "Tell them." Carly told him. She's kept his secret for far too long now and she had enough of the lies. He still stayed silent and that forced the CyberHuman to act more drastically. "Tell them or I will Axle."

"Fine." He said as he surrendered. The last thing he needed was an angry CyberHuman that could snap him like a twig revealing his secrets that he chose to keep hidden. "I wanna know why you all accepted me into your family. Why did you let me in as one of your own when you know I killed one of your family members?" His voice was weak as he asked that question.

A look of shock struck the faces of Wyatt and Juliette. "Is that what this is about? I told you that you didn't have to keep blaming yourself. It was pure instinct and it was all Grey's fault." Wyatt said, trying to reassure him that he wasn't at fault here.

"I kept trying to tell him but he still blames himself. He's even been punishing himself by starving himself and cutting since he was seventeen." Carly added, revealing more information since that was all that Axle was going to tell them.

"Four years? Why Axle?" Rebecca asked out of pure shock by what Carly had said. "Oh my god." Juliette said before her legs grew weak forcing her to drop to the cold floor. Tears began to well up inside her eyes. That look was something the beta tester did not want to see. The face of the woman who acted as a second mother to him, when he needed one most, crying on her knees. His heart sunk at the sight.

"Listen kid, you can't keep blaming yourself. We like having you and Carly around. You guys brighten up this family." Wyatt said as he sat down next to Axle in an attempt to cheer him up.

"He's right you know." Carly said as she sat next to him and held his hand in hers, intertwining their fingers together and locking them in the hold. "If Grey wasn't so obsessed with capturing me, he wouldn't have ordered Thompson's squad to break into your house and you wouldn't have killed Spike."

"Remember, Grey was responsible for it all and you got your revenge by killing him." Rebecca said while helping her sister-in-law get up.

"I wish he was still alive." Axle said coldly and quietly. "Why?" Carly asked as she was the only who was able to pick up what he said. "Because I have even more reasons to kill him now!!!" Tears escaped his eyes as he felt angry. As he felt hurt. He clenched his fists. It seems that even though Axle killed Grey, the dead general was still winning.

"It's okay Axle." She said as she pulled him in for a hug. "It's okay... if you keep this up then you're still letting Grey beat you." She wiped his tears away and looked at him. Her silver discs staring deep into his chocolate orbs.

She looked down to his lips and thought about placing hers on his, but she figured that he was most likely over her so she chose not to do anything, no matter how tempting it was.

"Okay, I know I'm gonna come off as a total bitch but Axle, seeing your mental condition and what you did to Malice, I have no choice but to ban you from CyberSpace for a week." Rebecca told her beta tester.

"But the beta only lasts for a week!" Axle spoke out. "Yes, but I chose to extend the beta tests to a month." She told him making him smile a bit. "Thanks."
