Chapter 25: Lancelot, Cobalt, ...
Cobalt felt a deep level of regret. He hoped that things could have gone differently but sadly they did not. He looked up to see the neon sky. It had been five months since he got stuck in CyberSpace.
He felt alone. He pushed the love of his life away long before CyberSpace was launched. He lost his family and was forced to go into foster care. He had lost a lot and gained a lot. A heavy burden was put on his shoulders and an empty spot in his heart complimented that burden.
He suffered a lot before CyberSpace and he hoped that he could move on past his traumatic experiences. Sadly he was wrong as CyberSpace only contributed to his pain. He was longing for someone that could take his pain away, but unfortunately Carla was not the one who could do so.
He suffered and hoped that he would survive because secretly he wanted to go back to her, to Carly. He was making a lot out of this and he expected compensation for being trapped in this dreaded program for so long.
He thought about Kobald one more time. Tears filling his eyes before he let out a wail of pain, misery, regret and hatred.
Pain for his suffering. Misery for being trapped in CyberSpace with no way out. Regret for killing someone he considered a great friend in an old life. Hatred for what CyberSpace has taken from him. His pride, dignity and humanity.
He quit gaming because the usual games he played triggered his PTSD and he was doing as fine as he could before getting trapped. First was the killings, them it was Black Cyber. All of this took him back to that time in the military base. He hated it. Everything, he hated it. But now he had enough. It was time to end things, once and for all.
He looked at himself one more time before deactivating his incognito account and switching to the second account he made ever since he logged into CyberSpace. From that moment on, Cobalt-X was no more. All that was left, LancelotOG.
With the Avalon Nights, Rosé watched the battle. She realised what happened. It was a realisation that Cobalt lost the Lancelot armor to Kobald and now she knew why. Kobald Light turned out to be a female user.
She also watched as Cobalt screamed before switching to a different account. This one was called LancelotOG.
She chose to slip out of the base so she could make a quick CyberCall to Rebecca.
"Blake here." Rebecca said as she answered the call. "Rebecca, I just discovered that Cobalt-X has three accounts. Well two if you count him deactivating that incognito account of his." Rosé told the scientist.
"Excellent. Now that you mention it, an account just went back online. It's an account called LancelotOG." Rebecca said before Rosé told her, "That's him. Plus, I think that there's a strong chance that he could be Axle. Can you check his primary account to confirm my suspicion?"
Rebecca kept her on hold for a while before picking up again. "Okay, Carly I'm back and I've got some information for you. LancelotOG as you've told me, and based on what I've seen is a secondary account. Once the primary account of Lancelot activates you'll be asked to change your username."
"Why?" The novice asked before she heard the words, "Because the primary account was Cobalt Light which was later changed after the first month to Rosé Shadow."
"I'm sorry, could you repeat that?"
"The primary account's username is Rosé Shadow."
"Thanks Rebecca, I'll be heading off now." She thanked the scientist before ending the call.
She felt happy. It all added up. His knowledge about Bernstein being Black Cyber, how he knew her name... and his primary account was the account she had been searching for and nobody else used the name Rosé Shadow. She felt happy... She finally found him. She found...
Axle.
