Chapter 3: Strong

Axle had just woken up from his peaceful slumber. It was Saturday, a nice day for everyone (unless you had work or school). He wanted to get up but he was too lazy and comfortable to leave his bed. Not only that, a certain someone wouldn't let him get up. He looked to his side and saw Carly smiling at him.

"Good morning Axle." she said. Axle took a minute to take in the events and realise that this was no dream. Carly and all the events of yesterday weren't imagined so you can imagine Axle's surprise when he found out he slept in a bed with a beautiful girl whom he had met the day before. He blushed a shade of scarlet before jumping out of the bed.

"Woah, so it wasn't dream?" Axle asked himself with wide eyes. This had Carly confused. "What wasn't a dream?" Carly asked the flustered teen. She clearly had no idea why the loner was flustered. "Uh, nothing." Axle lied as he looked away. He was already in an embarrassing situation and he didn't want to make it worse by telling her why he was embarrassed in the first place.

"Axle, what's wrong?" the mystery girl asked him as she noticed his blush was getting even worse. "What do you mean?" he played dumb hiding his nervousness. If she caught on to him this would not have played well in his favour at all. "You looked all sad and angry last night."

She kept staring at him with fixated eyes, determined to get an answer out of him. After hearing her words he then realised that she wanted to know what was going on with him the night before.

Axle looked at her and shook his head. "My secrets are for my past Carly. I don't want you mixed up in all that." he said before walking toward the door. He turned his head once more to look at Carly. "Stay here, I'm gonna get us some breakfast." she nodded before he left the room.

Carly just stared as she looked around Axle's room. She got up and out of bed and walked to the shelf near his bed. There was a medal, a necklace and five rings. She tried to reach the medal but knocked over one of the rings in the process due to her being too short. She watched as it fell and rolled under his bed. Fearing that Axle might get mad at her, she looked under the bed and saw nothing but darkness. All she did next was something that almost made Axle drop the food when he came back into the room.

Carly did something that seemed impossible. She picked the bed up with only one hand, and it was done with so much ease. Axle's jaw dropped as he saw this.

The girl's eyes glimmered with happiness as she found the ring. She took it and lowered the bed back into the same place it was in, unaware that Axle had returned to the room with what used to he breakfast.

Carly put the ring back onto the shelf before turning around to see Axle who stared at her with wide eyes. The colour drained from her face as she saw Axle and the same could be said about him.

"How much did you see?" Carly asked in fear, fear of rejection, ridicule and alienation. "Not much, except for how awesome you are." Axle said as he regained himself. "Awesome?" she asked all confused. This was a totally different reaction than what she was expecting. She expected him to run in fear and call the police, not praise her instead of that.

"You know, great, amazing, cool." he said looking away to make her feel less scared and embarrassed. "Thank you Axle." she said with a smile. Still refusing to look Axle said, "Err, I brought breakfast."

"I see, you're holding two plates but the food is on the floor." she observed. Axle looked down on the floor to see the results of his foolishness before silently cursing to himself. He then looked at her and said, "My parents are gone so its okay to come out of my room." Axle told Carly as he was leaving the room while she followed suit.

The both made it to the living room and sat down on a couch together. Axle got up and went to the kitchen to get more food for him and Carly. When he brought the food the two immediately started eating in silence. The reason was for Carly's apparent super strength. It was awkwardly silent. Carly feared that Axle would treat her different and Axle didn't want to stress Carly out as he didn't know what went on in her life before they met.

They ate slowly before taking their dishes to the kitchen. Axle washed them and stared at Carly when she wasn't looking. He could see the fear and worry on her face.

Axle finished cleaming the dishes before he groaned. Growing tired of the silence and awkward atmosphere, Axle decided to speak his mind before things got worse.

"So, how'd you do it?" he asked out of pure curiosity. She looked down and didn't answer. "Look, if you think I'm gonna treat you funny because you're super strong then you must be really paranoid... I don't judge."

Carly still refused to look at Axle. "I won't pressure you, you can talk to me when you're ready." he said before going off to his room to clean up his mess from earlier. She stayed there, deep in thought.

Back in Axle's room, the loner decided to head over to his sofa and turned the Playstation 4 on after he was done cleaning up his mess. He inserted a Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 disc and proceeded to play the game. He was already done with the storyline and the DLC editions.

His avatar, a Saiyan called Rosé Shadow was currently flying around in Konton City looking for one of his online friends. His search lasted for about an hour until he spotted some player called BoomBox09.

He challenged said player and their battle didn't even last long. It was a massacre actually as Axle gave BoomBox09 no chance to even fight back. He used his Created Character while his opponent used Fusion Zamasu.

It was a good two minutes of fighting but Axle grew bored of it all and used Goku Black's Divine Lasso to end it all. After he triumphed he smirked before he lost all emotion.

"That was boring." he sighed before he logged out. "Thought someone strong would have been online, guess I was wrong." he said as he walked over and changed the Xenoverse 2 disc and put in an Injustice 2 game disc.

Carly walked in the room and sat next to Axle, hugging him. Axle was caught by surprise and spoke up saying, "Carly, what are you doing?" she looked up to him and said, "Isn't this how people show affection for one another?" she asked. Axle was still freaked out at this since this was still all new to him.

"Not me, I don't like being around people a lot." Axle said before he shook her off of him.

"Why?" she asked him. "I've been hurt a lot as a kid and society keeps rejecting me and my presence, that's the long story short." Axle told her not wanting to explain his life story and become the pity party.

"I've been hurt by a lot of people too. Being treated as an alien hurts. But you treat me differently. You're nice." She said with a smile. This shocked him greatly. She could relate with him and his pain, but not only that, he now had better insight to how she lived. That would explain why she's nameless and homeless. He actually smiled because of this.

"You're the first person to actually want to be around me." Axle said trying to keep his tears at bay. "Can I hug you again?" she asked. Both of them weren't even sure who needed the hug now. "Fine." Axle said before caving in. Carly smiled before wrapping her arms around him in a warm tight hug.

Carly watched the screen as Axle played and asked, "What's this?"

"Injustice 2, wanna play?" she reluctantly nodded before Axle gave her a controller. He chose to play as the Flash while she used Black Canary. Of course Axle was winning but Carly was a quick learner. She ended up winning which left him stunned. A gaming noob beat him... What's next, a sharknado?

He shook his head and chose Supergirl as his next character while Carly continued to use Black Canary.
