Chapter 18: The CyberHuman Project

Three years ago...

"Come on Carla, we're gonna be late." An older woman yelled out. "Jeez mom, gimme a break... I'm on my way, besides we would've been there by now if you didn't make me wear this stupid outfit." A girl with with hazel eyes, long black hair and a pale skin complexion walked into the living room. She was currently wearing a pink shirt and skirt which she did not want to wear.

Her name, Carla Evans. She honestly didn't want to go with her parents on a trip to their friends in another town. She saw no point in doing anything. She didn't like the guy who lived in that house... mainly because he was an annoying prick who kept hitting on her.

She would rather stay inside at home and read some books in her room, but alas... She has been forced to go.

She dragged her feet toward her father's car and got in the back. Once everyone was in the car the family drove off.

All she could do was stare out the window. By what was being displayed outside, a storm was coming... And it was no doubt going to be a bad one.

She had a bad feeling, just by looking at those ominous clouds. Her parents didn't even seem at the least bit concerned.

"If anyone's planning on going on the road, I suggest you forget about it, there's going to be a hail storm and it's going to be very destructive. People are required to stay indoors." The radio said.

Looks like Carla was right about something bad happening. If only her parents listened to her, or to the radio. They still chose to go on. Carla didn't like it at all. She was almost sixteen, so of course her parents wouldn't listen to her.

But since they chose to ignore the radio, they just proved to her how arrogant and stubborn they could be.

It wasn't long before massive chunks of ice started to fall from the sky. Carla's eyes widened at the sight. She had one thought now. What if the car crashed?

She didn't want to die. She wasn't ready.

The chunks of ice kept falling around the car, and some even hit it. Carla got behind the drivers seat and curled into a ball.

It was getting worse. One even managed to hit to windscreen making it crack all over. It's a wonder it didn't break...

While that happened, the car began to spin out of control.

It spun for about a good five seconds before it capsized, crashing in a nearby ditch.

The car was totalled. Carla watched as she crawled out. Her mother's dead body, bleeding and bruised. Same happened to her father. She was hanging by a very thin thread.

She managed to make it out but she blacked out in the end.

"We should be done now. We're lucky that we found her when we did." A scientist said. "General Grey, meet CyberHuman Eight Thirty One." The scientist said revealing himself to be Professor Bernstein.

Before the two could continue speaking, Eight Thirty One burst up awake.

"Where am I? Who are you people?" She was freaked out. This was in fact Carla, the only changes was her face, height and eyes.

"It seems it's awake." Bernstein said. "I'll get her ready for a memory wipe." He said.

"Memory wipe? Who are you people?" Carla asked. "You're our tool, Eight Thirty One. Say good bye to the old you." Bernstein said before pushing a button on a small remote.

"Carla, Carla Evans... That's who I am. I was always human..." Carly said as he smiled. "I remember, I remember everything... even," her eyes widened as she gasped. " Axle!! I gotta save him. I gotta save him!!"

She said as she got up and ran out.
