Chapter 10

You supported Jungkook as you navigated the dimly lit corridors of OmniCorp's skyscraper leading to the main server room.

Every step felt like a mile with the weight of Jungkook's injured body pressing down on you. Your heart ached with worry for him; his pale face and labored breathing made you fear the worst. You couldn't lose him now—not after everything you'd been through.

"Hang in there, Jungkook. Just a few more turns." you murmured, your voice strong but with a hint of desperation.

Jungkook managed a weak smile. "Just another day at the office, right?"

Your heart clenched at his attempt to lighten the mood. "Yeah, just another day," you replied, your voice wavering slightly.

As you rounded the final corner, the massive door to the main server room appeared ahead. Your heartbeat quickened. "Yoongi, we're here."

"Good," his voice crackled through the earpiece. "Now, get ready. This is where things get complicated."

You approached the server door, your fingers freezing over the access panel.

"Jungkook, I need those codes."

He leaned against the wall, typing a series of security codes into your device. Your hands brushed, and despite the urgency, a spark of connection passed between you.

Your heart skipped a beat, but you quickly pulled yourself together.

The door hissed open, revealing rows of servers, their lights blinking rhythmically. You guided Jungkook to a chair. "Rest here. I'll handle the hacking."

He caught your hand before you turned away. "Y/n, you've got this."

You nodded, squeezing his hand.

"Yoongi, we're in," you said.

"Great. Now comes the fun part. Get ready to break through some serious encryption," Yoongi's voice replied, filled with an edge of excitement.

You connected your device to the main terminal, Yoongi's guidance steadying your nerves. "Alright, let's peel these layers of encryption."

"First, you'll need to bypass the initial firewall," Yoongi instructed. "It's a multi-layered defense, so use the RSA algorithm to decrypt the outer shell."

You swiftly input the necessary codes. "Done. What's next?"

"Now, there's a dynamic security protocol that changes every few seconds. You'll need to use a recursive function to predict the next set of encryption keys."

Your mind was frantic as you implemented the function. The screen flashed with streams of code, and you held your breath. "Got it."

"Good. The final layer is a biometric scan. You'll need to reroute the server's biometric input to match your Pretty Boy's credentials."

You looked at Jungkook, who nodded and pressed his hand against the scanner. The system accepted the input, and the screen unlocked, revealing a horrifying array of live feeds.

Your breath caught in your throat as you saw citizens moving like puppets, their realities manipulated by unseen hands.

You recognized some of them—friends, acquaintances, people you had fought to protect.

"That's Mrs. Lee," you whispered, pointing to a feed showing an elderly woman being led into a facility. "She used to run the bakery on Fifth Street."

Jungkook's eyes scanned the feeds, his jaw tightening. "That's Lieutenant Park Jimin," he said, pointing to a soldier restraining civilians. "He was one of my best men."

Your heart pounded as you saw your resistance members being targeted, their minds controlled by OmniCorp's technology. Then, your eyes locked onto someone. You froze.

A young man with a boyish face stood in a holding cell, looking confused and frightened.

"No," you breathed, your hands shaking. "That's Taehyung, my little brother."

Jungkook turned to you, his eyes filled with concern. "We'll get him back, y/n. I promise."

Tears welled in your eyes as you nodded, clinging to his words like a lifeline.

Jungkook reached out and gently touched your arm. "I know it's hard, but you have to stay strong. For Taehyung. For everyone. We'll get them out."

You sighed, drawing strength from his words. "Yoongi, we need to broadcast a warning. Can you help us hack into the main feed?"

"On it, princess," Yoongi replied. "I'll guide you through the process. But you'll need to act fast. Security will be all over you once you start."

You nodded as Yoongi fed you instructions. "Jungkook, keep an eye on the security measures. If they try to shut us down, counter it."

"Got it," Jungkook said, positioning himself at a secondary terminal. His fingers moved with practiced precision.

Finally, your screen flashed, indicating the broadcast was live. You took a deep breath, your voice even despite the fear gnawing at your insides.

"People of Neon Haven, listen to me. OmniCorp is manipulating your reality. They are controlling your minds, rewriting your lives. We have to fight back. We have to..."

An alarm blared, cutting you off. The room shuddered, and the screens flickered.
"Yoongi, what's happening?" you shouted over the noise.

"They've detected your intrusion." Yoongi's voice came through, tense but controlled. "Hang tight. I'm creating a pathway for you to get out. First, you need to sever the control link from the main server. There's a command prompt—type 'sudo terminate -a /control/*'. That should do it."

You followed the instructions, your heart hammering in your chest. "Done."

"Good. Now hide. I've overridden the security protocol temporarily, but it won't hold for long."

You glanced at Jungkook, who was struggling to stay conscious. "We need to move, now," you said, helping him to his feet.

You stumbled towards a nearby storage room, the alarm still blaring.

I can't let Jungkook die. I can't let Taehyung remain a prisoner. We have to win this fight.

Jungkook's hand found yours, squeezing tightly. "We're going to make it."

You looked into his eyes, finding strength in him.

As the two of you huddled in the darkness, waiting for Yoongi's signal, you clung to one thought: you would get out of this. Together. And you would take down OmniCorp once and for all.
