The Abuse and Healing Phase
OKay okay. We need to understand Paris's abuse from Jackson. From what I know, it wasn't physical, more possessive and draining. It made Parris feel like he had no freedom other than what Jackson allowed him to do. He had to confirm with Jackson for anything and make sure he was okay before he left. He tried to convince Jackson to get help outside of their relationship, but Jackson went off saying that Paris was trying to get rid of him and talked about how everyone only cared about him, because he was the golden boy. He went on about how he tried dating before and they all left him and asked Paris would he also leave. The word "leave" was his leash on Paris. Jackson didn't know the reason, but never cared to. He loved the idea of Paris and that was all. He didn't care about who Paris actually was and didn't see him as a person and more of the object of his emotions. His affection was less of hug and comforting and more of manhandling, cornering, and harsh kissing. He never went any farther from the kissing because it felt off. Paris wanted to leave so much and get away from the abuse, but he was being taunted constantly in his mind by the voices and his head telling asking him was he going to run away again. He felt like he was burdening his family when he ran away. He left everyone behind including his parents and grandma. Jackson didn't know but his words were breaking Paris down terribly, but felt like he couldn't leave. Paris developed a dependence on Jackson. He believed that as long as he could deal with Jackson, he could get over his pain and he wasn't running away. It wasn't until his grandma asked him why he still wore the face he did in the summer that he realized that he was running from his problems. Instead of physical, he ran away mentally. So with that breakthrough, he dealt with Jackson in a different way. He didn't run away or go off on Jackson. He just didn't let it get to him. Paris's goal was to help them both out of the situation. Saving just himself wouldn't help anybody, nor would it give him the closure he needed to move on.
OKay enough sad crap. Another main part of their story is their break up and distancing. But I also dont want to focus on that as it features feelings of missing and sorrowful reminising on the part of their relationship that wasn't so toxic. After they had started to get help. It's not like they miss the abusive part of it. They miss the emotion connection they found after they began the healing process and aren't sure whether or not they should allow themselve to get close again incase it messes up their healing. Well more of Paris worrying if he isn't good for Jackson's healing and wanting him to find proper love so he can feel like he isn't intruding on Jackson's process. Paris is a kind person, but when it comes to Jackson he gets selfish. It started from using him as a sign of reassurance that he had gotten over it all, to someone he viewed as a person like him who also needed to get better. They shared a lot of emotional ups and downs together. Jackson sees Paris as someone he wants to apologize to. He also has a strong emotion connection with Paris and sees him as someone who was willing to help him when he didn't deserve it. He wants to do what he hadn't done before and get to know Paris.
