i got excited and went back to writing a bit more. the story has shifted a lot more. less unneeded drama and more slow-burn fluff. this story is a book to make me happy and i will write all the cute fluff i want. try me.

so the plot is now:

Jackson and Paris are super close, to the point of just thinking they were dating and the ultimate power couple. they tell each other dumb pickup lines, go on 'dates', cuddle, and just love being together as much as they can. why aren't they dating? well Jackson has had a girlfriend, Talia, for a few years now. while their bond and chemistry isn't as strong, its still there. Jackson and Paris happy with the way everything is, that is until Talia comes right out the gate and promises herself to Jackson. that's basically engagement in terms of beastmen. Jackson is now presented with the life style of what marriage insues and is second guessing how much he is willing to give for Talia's happiness and how he actually feels about Paris.

yes im making this mildly cliche probably. i like no homo bro memes.

i also leaned more into the fantasy aspect. Paris an elf, Jackson is a witch, and Talia is a beastman. Liliana is still being converted. (converted? lol.) the fantasy races and culture play a big part in the story.
