Cuts and Cake:

Chapter 17:

It was break time at Weston College and Ciel was sitting in the library working on his Biology homework by himself when someone pulled out the chair next to him and sat down. He looked up, expecting to see Sebastian and found it was his cousin Elizabeth Midford instead.

"Sebastian told me to tell you that the careers teacher wants to see him so he can't revise with you," she informed him and opened her Biology textbook and drew out her homework from her Hello Kitty school bag.

"Okay," he replied and continued working on his homework.

After a minute or so he became aware that Lizzie was staring at him expectantly.

"Yes, Lizzie?"

She looked around cautiously at the crowded school library before leaning in to whisper.

"What are you and Sebastian doing tomorrow?"

"Is there some significance about it being Saturday tomorrow?" he asked vaguely, not paying too much attention to her babble.

"It's Valentine's Day, silly," she reprimanded him playfully.

"I'm not interesting in celebrating commercialised days because it is expected of me as I have a boyfriend," he informed her and returned to his homework.

"But Ciel..." she whined.

"How many times have I told you to stop interfering with my relationship with Sebastian?" Ciel enquired coldly. "I'm not bothered by Valentine's Day."

His cousin pouted before returning to attack.

"How was Christmas Day? You very happy with the results if I remember correctly," she said and winked.

The reaction was instantaneous as a blush spread over her former fiancé's pale face and he averted his eyes at the memory of fake cats and cat ears and being ravished by Sebastian on Christmas Day.

"Lizzie!"

"Yes, Ciel?" she said innocently.

"We're in a public place," he groaned and sent a tentative look at the group of giggling girls sitting at the table next to them.

"Everyone knows anyway," she muttered under her breath before resuming the subject of Valentine's Day. "You could just give him a small present like chocolates."

Ciel replied instantly. "He doesn't like sweet things."

Lizzie frowned for a moment and screwed up her face as if in deep thought.

"What happened to that cat from Japan?" she asked interestedly.

"Bin," he glanced up from his homework to answer shortly.

He had taken great pleasure in disposing of the electronic cat on the day after Christmas Day and made sure to crush it himself in case Sebastian rescued it at a later point in time. It had been an expensive present to destroy, but it had been worth it.

He recalled the difficulty in finding Sebastian a Christmas present and he really did not want to repeat it all just for Valentine's Day.

Ciel opened his mouth to tell Lizzie that but was interrupted by someone tall and dark haired sliding into the seat opposite him. He gave Sebastian a brief nod and hoped Lizzie would not tell him what they had been talking about.

Naturally it was the first thing that she said.

"Sebastian, what would you like Ciel to give you for Valentine's Day?" she questioned and picked up her abandoned pen and tore out a sheet of paper from her book in order to take notes.

The former contractor attempted to hide a smirk due to the fact that he had overheard some of his boyfriend's conversation.

"Hmm, I don't think there is anything he could give me. He has already returned my love and allowed me to stay close to him," he explained and reached out to stroke Ciel's flushed cheek tenderly.

Lizzie let out a squeal and Ciel had the strangest feeling that the neighbouring table of girls were doing the same. He avoided turning his head so he wouldn't have to know.

"But, I wouldn't mind a small present," Sebastian continued on unexpectedly with a smile.

Ciel looked at him questioningly. "What would that be?"

Sebastian released his grip on Ciel and cocked his head on the side. "Guess."

The shorter boy glared at his boyfriend and picked up his homework again, effectively ending the conversation. He should have known better than to get involved with Lizzie's idea. Valentine's Day was not something he was inclined to celebrate, the day simply existed to make money for retailers and he was not going to take part in it.

The subject was mentioned once more on his walk home from school with his boyfriend.

"You know Ciel, you can always do the same thing that you did for Christmas Day, tomorrow," Sebastian suggested with a wink. "I won't mind."

Ciel stared at him with narrowed eyes. He was definitely never dressing up in cat ears again no matter how happy it made Sebastian even it meant that he became very attentive to him...

"No. I threw those ears away along with that damn robotic cat," he scowled.

Sebastian pouted and didn't bring up the subject again.

The next person to mention Valentine's Day to Ciel was his aunt when she returned home from work. She knocked on his bedroom door after verifying that Sebastian was busy dusting all of the downstairs rooms and would be occupied for a while. She opened the door after receiving a reply from her nephew.

"Ciel, what are you doing for Valentine's Day?" she questioned eagerly as soon as she entered.

Ciel, who was engrossed in his Maths' homework and looked up at her and face palmed upon hearing the question that had been hounding him all day.  It was just like Christmas except that the people asking were in reverse order.

"Why does everyone care so much?" he groaned. "Sebastian said it was fine if I didn't get him anything."

"He may have said that..." Angeline trailed off and sighed. "What did you give him for Christmas? I thought it was that robotic cat, but I found it in the rubbish the day after."

The blue haired teenager stiffened almost imperceptivity, but Angelina picked up on it and smiled to herself. She had also found a telltale pair of cat ears in the rubbish and was keeping quiet about it. She was just happy that her nephew had found someone that he loved.

"I'll think of something," he sighed and waved her away. "I'm in my final year of school and I have lots of exams coming up, do I really have to bother with something like Valentine's Day?"

His aunt fondly patted him on his head, pleased in his interest in his schoolwork as his attitude at the start of the school year had been quite the opposite.

"Of course not. It's not an all day celebration, however it is Saturday tomorrow... You can go on a date with Sebastian."

"I have to revise for a controlled assessment on Monday, remember I started school in the second year of GCSEs and I have to catch up with all the assessments."

"You can do that on Sunday," she pointed out and drew out a guidebook from her pocket. "Here's a list of places you can go."

Ciel scowled at her. "Aunt Ann!"

She pouted at him. "I was afraid you wouldn't be able to come up with anything so I thought I would help you."

"I'll come up with something," he said firmly and waited for her to leave.

She left the room without argument and smiled once she had closed the door.

"Reciprocity works every time," she murmured to herself, having exploited the theory of Reciprocity by suggesting challenging tasks to her nephew and then waiting for him to pick an easier option which he would not have done if she hadn't suggested going on a date with Sebastian.

Now all she had to do was make sure she was out the house all day tomorrow as she really did not want to walk in on those two on Valentine's Day.

The 14th of February was a typical February grey day with dark clouds lining the sky and blocking out the sun and every now and then there was a light shower of rain.

Ciel woke up early and let out a groan after seeing the date on his clock. Valentine's Day. After consideration he decided to give Sebastian a small present.

His boyfriend may have been a complete bastard several months ago to him with his taunts, but he had helped him break his cutting habit and had helped take down the people that killed his parents and besmirched the family name.

Sebastian was sitting at the kitchen table when he eventually ventured downstairs. A coffee cup was in front of him and he was reading the newspaper.

"Your aunt isn't here, she left quite early. Apparently she is going to be out all day," he informed Ciel and gave him a smile before putting the newspaper down. "Happy Valentine's Day."

"Happy Valentine's Day," Ciel answered in return and coughed. "I have a present for you."

Not unexpectedly, Sebastian perked up and tried to guess what it was. There had been no giveaway sheets of a paper lying around Ciel's bedroom like last time so he didn't have any clues.

"Close your eyes," Ciel ordered.

The older teenager raised an eyebrow and complied with the order.

Ciel took a deep breath and approached his boyfriend. He took hold of his face and gave him a kiss on the lips. Immediately he felt Sebastian's hands reach out and grip his face, melding them together and he was pulled into his boyfriend's lap. A minute later they parted to breathe and Ciel hid his blushing face against Sebastian's chest.

"Thank you, Ciel," Sebastian said once he had caught his breath.

"I thought I would initiate it for once," Ciel murmured.

Sebastian patted the top of his head tenderly. "It is lucky that Madam Red will be out all day."

Ciel barely had time to register Sebastian's words before he was pulled closer for another deep kiss which led onto more activities.

If anyone wants recommendations for other SebastianxCiel fics there is Torture and Tea by yumenosakura which is very similar to this one, only more mature and realistic. In fact I would recommend anything by that author such as Teacups and Teapots and Under the Blossoms.
