Natsu watched with low eyes as Lucy Heartfilia, his long time crush and girlfriend of three years, dance with his long time frenemy, Gray Fullbuster.

Although he may not always appreciate the raven haired male, he trusted him with his life and if Lucy has to dance with someone other than himself, he would prefer it to be with him.

A smile came to his lips as he remembered the day they confessed to each other.

She told me that she loved me by the water fountain

It wasn't anything special, in fact, it was quite an embarrassing confession. Something along the lines of overwhelming jealousy and desperation but none the less, she accepted it with an open heart and even confessed her feelings back to him.

Mavis, he was lucky.

She told me that she loved me and she didn't love him

It stemmed from a misunderstanding he had when he saw her and her creepy cousin, Dan.

Heavens, how he hated that little fucker. From his slicked back brown hair to his annoying way of speaking, that insinuated that anybody not in his family was below him.

But if the pinkette was honest, it wasn't surprising how Dan turned out considering his parents gave him anything and everything he asked for.

Still, that idiot had the gull to try and swipe a kiss from Lucy one night at a party her family was hosting.

He had asked Lucy to come to one of the sitting rooms, her family's mansion contained and when he was sure nobody had followed him or was looking, he trapped the poor blonde against the wall.

It was a pure coincidence that Natsu had found them, he was in fact  looking for his little sister, Wendy, as she had disappeared from where all the guests were but, upon stumbling on the scene of his crush under another man, especially one that was her cousin, rage took over his mind. So, before he knew it, his fist had plowed into Dan's face and he was harshly tugging the blondie outside, demanding she explain herself.

The poor girl, of course was panicked and scared from what almost happened but after collecting herself as much as she could, with the help of a worried and angry Natsu, she quietly and quickly explained through sniffles and a few sobs, what had transpired.

After the two had a quick argument, Lucy eventually confessed which led to Natsu confessing.

And that was really lovely 'cause it was innocent

A smile returned to his lips as he watched Gray leave Lucy and return to Juvia, who was only a few feet away glaring at her "love rival."

But just as fast it returned, the smile disappeared. Just as Gray reached Juvia, Dan, the little asshole, approached his Lucy and handed her a drink.

After the incident at the party, the two effectively stayed away from the brunette, unless Lucy had a family thing to go to, then she had to deal with him. But even then, she made it painfully clear that she hated his guts.

So, why the fuck was he here? This was party hosted by Erza and her husband Jellal, people who knew what he almost did to Lucy and strongly disliked him.

As he started to get up to go let the man know his presence wasn't wanted nor needed, a strong hand pushed him back down.

But now she's got a cup with something else in it

Lucy looked at the cup suspiciously then eyed her cousin.

"Why are you here?" She questioned not taking a sip from her drink.

"Lucy~ My dear cousin, why are you so tense?" He slid unnecessarily close, a feigned look of innocence in his brown eyes. "Are you still mad at me, after all these years?~"

The blonde stiffened.

"Of course I am! You tried to force yourself on me!" She jabbed a finger in his broad chest. "There's no way in hell, I'd forget something like that!"

A deep laugh rumbled from him as a dangerous look entered his eyes.

"Keep your voice down. Do you want to disrupt this lovely party, your friend Erza threw?"

Lucy hated how Dan sounded when he said her scarlet haired friends name. The way he said it made it sound like a sneer and Lucy absolutely hated it when anybody gave a condescending attitude to her friends.

"Again," she said more firmly, "why are you here? As you just stated it is Erza's party, meaning you shouldn't have got an invite."

"Don't worry about it." He purred taking a step away. "Anyway, you should really take a sip of that punch," he nodded to the drink in her hand, "and relax~"

It's getting kind of blurry at a quarter past ten

She knew she shouldn't have listened to him. She knew she shouldn't have taken a sip. She knew he was bad news. And yet, her dumb ass had done it anyway and look where it got her.

And he was in a hurry to be touching her skin

She's feeling kind of dirty when she's dancing with him

Lucy's hips began to sway to beat and subconsciously she reached up and tangled her fingers in her soft blonde locks as her eyes fluttered closed.

She was aware that Dan was in front of her enjoying her little show, but what ever he had given her had clouded her judgement.

Forgetting what she told me by the water fountain

Her mind was foggy and the world around her was bright. Too bright.

The next thing she knew everything was dark.

Now he's grabbing her hips, and pulling her in

Kissing her lips, and whispering in her ear

When she woke it was dark. The soft feeling of blankets plagued her back as the harsh feeling of ropes tying her wrists to the head board caught her attention.

She groaned.

"Finally awake, my dear cousin~" An awfully familiar voice cooed, pressing a slobbery kiss to Lucy's exposed stomach.

Although she still felt groggy, the blonde beauty was aware of rough hands feeling all around her curves and the wet kisses being pressed to her neck and lips.

She struggled against the restraint.

"Let me go!"

Dan laughed and pressed another forced kiss to her lips.

"No. I'm gonna stay and have some fun~"

And she knows that she shouldn't listen

No! She didn't want to be here!

And that she should be with me by the water fountain

She wanted to be with Natsu!

"Natsu, save me."

She couldn't be at home in the night time because

It had been two weeks since the party and Lucy rarely left her room, unless it was to go to school and even then she was always fidgety and skittish.

But on especially cold December nights, like tonight, she'd often leave her house in no more that a pair of flimsy shorts and a tee-shirt to head to the park only to freeze as she stared at the dazzling stars above her.

It made her feel alone, but at that time she was too young

That was the only thing that made her forget.

He could tell something was wrong.

Natsu knew Lucy like the back of his hand and in all the years of knowing her, he never seen her look so....lifeless.

I should've built a home with a fountain for us

Ever since the party, she had been different. What the hell happened?

The moment that she told me that she was in love

Whenever he tried to kiss her, she would slightly flinch and so eventually he stopped.

Too young

Whenever he tried to hug her, she'd be hesitant, like he was going to hurt her.

She stopped talking to their friends and often spent time alone.

He was worried. But whenever he asked if she was alright, she would attempt to laugh it off and offer a fake smile.

He was frustrated.

What the hell happened?!

Why couldn't she confide in her own boyfriend?!

Finally he pushed the subject and that's when she broke.

She screamed and shoved him away, telling him to leave her alone.

He'd never forget her words.

"It's your fault! Why didn't you save me?! Why?! I will never forgive you! Never!"

And if she ever goes back to the water fountain

Lucy knew if wasn't his fault. But she couldn't help but blame him.

The handle will be broken and the rust set in

She hated Dan.

She hated the world.

But oh, she despised herself the most.

But my hand, it will be open and I'll try to fix it

Gray found Natsu that day.

His sakura hair disheveled and his onyx eyes as dull as stone. The normal childish grin he wore was no more and in its place was a empty expression.

Apparently all of their friends had been worried about Lucy and a few days ago they had vowed to discover the truth.

Now they were recruiting Natsu to their team.

Now I'm grabbing her hips, and pulling her in

A soft smile came to Natsu's lips as he beheld the blonde goddess before him.

"Lucy." He softly called wrapping his arms around her waist.

Kissing her lips, and whispering in her ear

"I love you." And with that he placed a loving kiss to her plump lips.

And I know that it's only a wish

And that we're not standing by the water fountain

The teenage boy woke with a heavy heart that morning. It was only a dream.

Lucy wasn't with him. She hadn't been with him for some time.

He missed his one and only star.

Finally, after one long, hell of a week, Natsu and his friends discovered what happened to Lucy. And when they did...every single one of them furious.

But Natsu...furious wasn't even close to describe what that boy was feeling.

While everybody else wanted to put Dan away for life, Natsu wanted to end his life.

That night he went to visit Lucy.

She couldn't be at home in the night time

It was almost midnight when he arrived at the Heartfilia mansion.

He harshly knocked and a few moments later a not so happy Jude opened the door.

"What the hell-oh Natsu, why are you banging on my door in the middle of the night?"

Without answering Natsu pushed pasted the blonde man and let himself into the house.

"Where's Lucy?"

"I-in her room. Is there something wrong?"

"Thanks." And without answering the poor confused mans question, he bolted up the stairs to Lucy's room.

Because it made her feel alone

When he arrived, the door was unlocked and Lucy was no where to be seen.

But at that time she was too young
I was too young

Natsu searched the whole house twice, with the help of Jude and Layla and just they two called the police Natsu found a very distressing letter, on the floor under Lucy's bed.

I should've built a home with a fountain for us

Natsu ran hard. Harder than he ever ran before.

The moment that she told me that she was in love

"I have to make it," he muttered turning a corner. "I just have too!"

His heart hammered in his chest as the park came into view.

He made it!

From where he was he could see the familiar shape of Lucy's body laying down in the grass.

She must have been stargazing, he thought with relief.

He had made it. She was safe.

But the closer he got, the heavier the dread felt in his heart.

The moment that she told me that she was in love

When he reached her, he fell to his knees sobbing.

Lucy, his blonde goddess, was lying on the damp grass, her golden hair spread out, with a knife in her chest.

He was too late.

The love his life...was dead.

Welp, not really a fan of doing these type of one-shots but I thought I'd give it a try.
