Nobody's POV

A misty haze settled over Magnolia as the heavens continued to let their tears soak the earth below. The sky was dark with thick gray clouds and the air was chilled, almost depressing.

A sigh escaped Lucy's lips as she solemnly looked out of the foggy apartment window, at the few people below scurrying to get inside and out of this horrible weather. Normally, the celestial mage would gladly welcome a rainy day. I mean, the world could always use showers now and again. But, it had been raining for two fucking weeks straight and not some drizzle here and there, it was straight up pouring, to the point where the mayor began taking precautions incase it began to flood.

Sighing again, Lucy turned towards the TV and switched it on, lazily resting her legs on the opposite end of the gray couch, situated in Natsu and Lucy's shared living room.

No point in just watching the rain. She speculated clicking through the different channels, till she landed on a weather one with Jason reporting on it.

"Hello folks, this week's weather forecast predicts one hundred percent rain all week. Doesn't seem like the rain will let up any time soon so be careful in case it begins to flood. I suggest packing an emergency bag with the essentials just in case you have to evacuate quickly. Hopefully, it doesn't come to that but, you can never be too prepared." He gave the camera a wide smile and a thumbs up. "Anyway, now's the time to enjoy spending time at home with your family. Play games, create memories, write your own stories, and don't forget to check out Sorcerer Weekly!" He winked.

Lucy quickly switched the channel and groaned, leaning her head over the side of the couch as Natsu walked in carrying a tray of snacks.

"You alright, Luce?" He asked tilting his head to the side so he could see his beloved girlfriend right-side up.

"No! I'm sick and tired of this rain! I want it to stop! I want to go outside! I want to go on missions! I want to be free!"

Natsu chuckled as he walked over to her, placed the tray on the, surprisingly not broken, glass table and sat down beside her, lifting her legs up to sit down and placing them on his laps once seated.

"I wanna go outside and go on a mission too, Luce, but with all this rain, there's nothing we can do."

Reaching over, Lucy grabbed a chip and popped it in her mouth. "I know....but still..." She mumbled. "I wish there was something we could do. It's just been so boring."

The dragon slayer glanced at his lover slightly confused. This was Lucy, he was talking about. His Luce. A girl who is rarely bored and can almost always find a way to keep busy. How can that girl, the one in front of him, be bored out of her mind?

"Have you tried reading?"

"I finished all of the books I have and because of the rain, can't go out and get any more."

"Writing? What about your novel?"

"Writer's block. Normally, I would go out to clear my head but it's raining!"

"What about talking to Levy?"

"She's busy with translating scrolls."

"You couldn't ask her if she needed any help?"

"Its fucking raining Natsu! How the hell am I going to help her?!"

"Over FaceTime?" He suggested with a shrug.

Lucy's head snapped in his direction.

"Have you ever tried to help someone translate scrolls over FaceTime?! No, cause you're an idiot and never read unless it's to pick out a damn mission!"

"Oi!" Though Natsu wasn't mad, as he understood she was just frustrated from being kept in by the rain and her words spoke the truth, he was slightly offended. "I don't just read mission posters, I also read the back of cereal boxes and menus when we order." He defended, pouting.

Lucy blinked...then burst into laughter, successfully rolling herself off the couch and onto the hardwood floor.

"You alright?" Natsu questioned after a bit, leaning down to peer at the celestial mage who continued to laugh.

"Mmmm." She responded, wiping her eyes which had accumulated tears in them as her laughter slowly subsided. Sitting up, she turned towards her lover. "Sorry about snapping at you but, I'm just so frustrated with all this damn water, I guess I just took it out on you." Lucy looked down, a tint of pink dusted across her face, ashamed of her childish and rude behavior.

Natsu softly smiled at her, completely taken in by her cuteness. Placing a hand on her head, he gently rubbed her hair lovingly. "It's alright, I understand. Being inside so long can make any person stressed and irritable."

Lucy gasped, her chocolate eyes widening, a playful tint, hidden in them.

"You know the word 'irritable'?" She joked.

"Shut up!" Natsu growled playfully, grabbing her waist and pulling up into his lap, attacking her with a flurry of tickles. Again, the celestial mage broke out into unrestrained laughter, kicking and flailing in hopes to get the dragon slayer to stop the assault on her sides.

"Natsu....stop!" She cried helplessly.

"Never!"

Tears now pricked her eyes. "Natsu....please....I give....let me go!"

Deciding that he'd tortured the poor blonde woman enough, Natsu took mercy on her and stopped moving his hands, simply wrapping his arms around her, pulling her to his chest, and laying back so he was stretched across the couch, much like she was earlier.

Still coming down from her laughter, Lucy rested her head against Natsu's chest, listening to the rhythmic beating of his heart. Closing her eyes, she smiled.

"I'm sorry about earlier." She apologized, stuffing her face into him, her shame coming back slightly.

"Don't worry 'bout it." Natsu hummed quietly. "One of us was bound to snap eventually, I'm just glad it wasn't too serious."

Lucy was quiet for a moment then she let out a soft laugh. "You really are a sweetheart. Thank you."

"Why are you thanking me, you weirdo?" Natsu chuckled.

"'Cause I can, you idiot." Lucy mused.

"I love you, Luce."

"I love you too, Natsu."

The two lovers laid there in peaceful silence, listening to each other's steady breathing in warmth of their comfy home while outside the heavens continued to let their tears soak the earth below with a misty haze overhead.
