Nobody's POV

"Oi Fire Freak, Erza wants you in her office, now." Gray said walking up to Natsu's desk. Looking up from the papers he was holding, Natsu quirked an eyebrow.

"Why?"

"How the hell should I know. She just told me to tell you that she wants you in her office, so go and stop asking questions."

Sighing Natsu set the papers down on his desk and stood up. Putting his hands behind his head Natsu proceeded to walk to his bosses office. Once outside of her office Natsu nocked lightly on the door.

"Who is it?" A voice from behind the door asked.

"Natsu." He replied.

"Come in."

Twisting the door knob, Natsu swung the door open making it hit the wall with a bang.

Receiving a glare from the red-head at the desk, Natsu shivered and gently closed the door behind him.

"You wanted me?" He asked.

"Yeah. I have a new assignment for you."

"Hmm. Alright what do I gotta do."

"You have to catch and arrest two gangs leaders that have been very active lately."

"What do ya mean by "active"?" Natsu asked.

"You don't want to know, trust me."

Natsu just nodded.

"Alright, when do I start?" He asked.

"Tomorrow."

"Why? I wanna start today." Natsu whined.

"Well for starters you still haven't finished and given me your report from your last assignment and secondly there's someone you need to meet and get to know."

"Who and why?" Natsu asked kinda irritated.

"Why, because their going to be your new partner and their name is-"

"I don't need a stupid partner, I'm fine on my own."

"You do need a partner. "

"Why!?" Natsu asked raising his voice.

"Because your reckless and you need someone to watch over you/help you stay in check."

"I'm not a little kid. I can take of myself. I'm not that reckless and the partner will only get in my way. Also I don't need someone to keep me in check, I can do it myself!!!!" Natsu yelled.

"Really!?, 'Cause the case before last you beat up the perpetrator so bad that he was in the hospital for 5 months. 5 months Natsu!!!!" Erza yelled back.

"Well he fucking deserved it. He raped a women and her 10 year old kid and then killed the mother in front of her child!!!" Natsu practically screamed.

"That doesn't matter. A few punches are ok but breaking both of his arms and dislocating his-"

Erza cut herself off and sighed.

"Natsu, this is not up for discussion. You will have a partner and you will get to know them, am I clear?"

"Yes. Crystal clear." Natsu mumbled.

"Good."

Sighing Natsu crossed his arm.

"So, where is my so called partner."

"I'm right here." A blonde said stepping out of the shadows.

Natsu's jaw dropped.

"W-were you there t-the entire time?" Natsu asked.

"Yup, sure was." The blonde replied with a smile.

Natsu looked at Ezra.

"Ezra, who the hell is this?"

"Like she said she's your new partner." The red-head replied with a smile.

Looking at the blonde Natsu's jaw dropped again.

The blonde waved.

"Sup. My names Lucy, Lucy Heartfilia."

"Nice to meet ya', my names Natsu, Natsu Dragneel."

"Hmm. Nice to meet you. Ya' know you have an interesting name. Your name means 'summer' right?"

"Yeah."

"Well I can see why you were named now."

"Hmm. Why?"

"I'll tell you later, but right now I'm hungry so let's go get something to eat."

"But-"

Lucy cut him off.

"I said, I'll tell you later now let's go. I know your hungry too, don't deny it."

Natsu chuckled.

"Alright you do have a point, but I wanna hear that explanation, alright?"

"Yeah yeah, let's go." Lucy said grabbing Natsu's arm and dragging him out of Ezra's office.

Natsu and Lucy both decided to get burgers so they headed to the nearest burger joint.

After ordering their food, Lucy suggested they play 20 questions so that they could get to know each other better and Natsu agreed.

Lucy started out.

"Favorite Color?"

"Red, you?"

"Pink."

Natsu chuckled.

"That's a very girlish color."

"Says the one with pink hair. Also what's wrong with pink, ya think just cause I kick ass I can't like pink?"

"No that not what I'm saying, it's just.....nevermind. Anyway it's my turn and my hair is salmon not pink."

"Whatever just go."

Natsu chuckled.

"Alright, Night or Day?"

"Night, you?"

"Day. Your turn."

"Alright. Clouds or Stars?"

"What do you mean?"

"Which do you like better stars or clouds?"

"Oh. Clouds because they seem fun to jump on. What about you?"

"Stars. Your turn."

As the day went on the two of them kept asking each other questions and getting to know each other.

By the end of the day the two of them were practically best friends.

After Natsu dropped Lucy back at her apartment. Natsu headed home to finish his report and look at the assignment file.

~At Natsu's House~

"Hmmm, so the people we're gonna capture are Takashi Iki and John Bell."

Looking at the clock Natsu realized it was super late and that he should get to bed.

Natsu put all the papers in his assignment folder and set them on the living room table. Slipping off his shirt and changing into his sleeping pants, Natsu proceeded to brush his teeth and slip into his bed. Not long after Natsu fell into a peaceful sleep.

~Time skip 3 days~

Today was the day that Natsu and Lucy were going to catch and arrest John and Takashi.

Natsu and Lucy were both excited yet scared to catch them. You see it may sound unbelievable but in the four days they spent together, they found themselves in love with each other.

Of course they hadn't said anything to the other because they were both scared of being rejected but that didn't mean they won't worried about one another. In fact the reason why they were scared was they were afraid of the other getting hurt.

Currently both of them stood on each side of a warehouse door,  holding a weapon in their hands. Natsu held a gun while Lucy held a whip.

When Natsu questioned her about it she told him she was better with a whip than other weapon and that this one was custom by her mother. 

Natsu looked at Lucy and nodded and Lucy did the same thing signaling that on three Natsu was gonna kick the door open.

3....
Bang!!

"Freeze, this is the Fairy Police. Put your hands on your head and get on your knees."

Immediately everyone pulled a gun and started shooting at the two.

Lucy and Natsu ducked outside and covered their heads.

After the shooting seemed to stop, both of them peeked their heads around the corner just in time to see the people fleeing.

"I'm going in, cover me." Lucy yelled running inside.

"On it."

Lucy crept through the warehouse, whip in hand, eyes darting in all directions. Suddenly out of the corner of her eye Lucy saw something fly at her and she quickly jumped out of the way. A few seconds later she felt something wiz past her head. Lucy ran for cover but on the way there felt a huge pain in her shoulder.

Once she sure she was safe Lucy looked at her shoulder and found that she was bleeding. She had been shot.

When Natsu saw this he had become enraged. Not only did these scumbags shot his partner, they shot the girl he loved. Natsu was not happy and he planned to let them know it.

Natsu got out from his hiding spot and marched to the center of the room and yelled,

"Oi, cowards come face me like real men and stop hiding!!! I bet you people do this because your fed up with how sad your lives are. "

When nobody came out Natsu yelled something he'd know they'd come out for.

"I guess you guys aren't cowards. Your worse than cowards your pussys."

At that everyone came out and formed a circle around him.

"Alright boys it's time you learned a lesson." Natsu said with a smirk.

"What lesson is that?" One of the men sneered.

"Not to hurt my woman."

After that I bet you can guess what happened next, but if you can't I'll tell you.

Natsu beat them all up, putting them all in the hospital for a good while and like the hero *coughs* excuse me the dragon he was, he carried Lucy out of there and called an ambulance.

Once Lucy was discharged from the hospital, Natsu picked her up and drove her to her apartment.

About half way there Lucy asked Natsu to pull over because she needed to talk to him. Giving her a questioning look Natsu did as he was asked.

"So what's up?" Natsu asked.

Lucy started to play with her fingers and look just past Natsu so it looked like she was looking at Natsu but she really wasn't.

"Well you remember what you said to the men about messing with your...umm...woman?"

Natsu nodded still confused.

"W-were y-you taking about m-me?" Lucy asked blushing.

"Well duh, who else would I be taking about."

Natsu chuckled.

"Lucy look at me."

"I am."

"No your not your looking just past me so it looks like you are but your really not."

Lucy still refused to look at him so Natsu gently took her face in his hands and forced her to look at him.

"Lucy, I know it may sound unbelievable but in the five days I've gotten to know you, I've ended up falling for you."

Lucy's mouth dropped open.

"Lucy, I love you." Natsu said with a serious face.

"And I you, Natsu." Lucy said with a gentle smile.

This time Natsu's mouth dropped open.

Deciding to close it for him, Lucy smashed her lips to his making him grunt. But not a second later Natsu began to kiss back and oh let me tell you, the two of them had a heated make-out session that lasted a good 45 minutes to an hour.

Somewhere in the middle of the heated make-out session Natsu asked Lucy to be his girlfriend and of course Lucy was over joyed and accepts.

Once the session had ended, Natsu drove Lucy back to her apartment and bid her goodbye.

On the way back to his house Natsu went over all the events that happened over the past five days and he smiled and mental laughed.

To think Natsu didn't want a partner in the beginning.
