Curtain Call
The light fades as he draws the curtain closed,
For he will help me take my final bow.
Slowly we walk together,
Taking the time we need to adjust.
Death is a friend I'd never thought be so sweet.
He takes my hand and pulls me close,
Comforting and somewhat warm.
His lovely face only beckoning,
Speaking words that simply bring peace.
With all his magic, he is not a god,
He is nothing, but a savior to those in need.
He is nothing, but a savior to someone like me.
