THIRTEEN

After a long night of trick-or-treating, Elle and Fred collapsed into their bed. The kids had to go to all of their relatives' homes before actually going to a small village to trick-or-treat.

Sirius fawned over them, acting like how you would think that Molly Weasley would. He kept taking pictures and gushing about how they were getting too big!

At the Burrow, the kids played with their cousins, pretending to be who they dressed up as. Molly had quite the time going around and making sure she gave candy to every one of her grandchildren.

It took an hour just to get that all done! After all, everyone in the family had brought candy to do their own family trick-or-treating there.

Every child's candy basket was full by the time they left the Burrow! The kids didn't mind, of course, but the adults gave each other looks that seemed to say "Oh the sugar..."

Elle and Fred took their kids to the town near the Burrow, smiling and watching as Dylan, Josie, and Reese ran up to each door eagerly. They were adorable, knocking and chorusing, "Trick or treat!"

Fred and Elle walked hand in hand, getting appreciative looks as they actually dressed up. Who were they? Elle was Lois Lane and Fred was Superman. The costume was Fred's idea. "I'm already Superman!" He insisted.

Reese was Wonder Woman, while Josie was Supergirl. Dylan was Batman.

The kids were exhausted by the time they arrived home. They tossed their candy onto the dining room table before trudging to their bedrooms. They fell asleep quickly knowing that they would have a day full of candy the next day.

Elle and Fred weren't able to do much more than their kids. They were asleep nearly instantly. They didn't even have time to curl into each other's arms as the normally would.
——
"Mum, can we have candy for breakfast?" Dylan immediately asked as soon as Elle came out of her and Fred's bedroom, still clad in her pajama shorts and tank top.

"Please, Mum?" Josie whined, tugging at Elle's shirt.

"Pretty please?" Reese joined in, throwing her arms around Elle's waist.

"No," Elle started. She looked down at them and into three pairs of eyes, one of which mirrored her own, while the other two mirrored Fred's. She mentally cursed, as eyes were always her weakness. They were her weakness with Fred, and that hadn't changed with her children.

"Oh... only one piece! And that's after you eat your pancakes!" Elle told them, making them cheer and run to the dining room to pick out their one piece of breakfast candy.

Elle sighed as Fred came out of their bedroom, pulling a shirt over his head. Elle was momentarily frozen as she admired his still lean body. His abs weren't as prominent as they were right after they got out of Hogwarts, but they were still visible. How he managed to still look so amazing while she had stretch marks- not that she would trade them for anything; they were proof of her children- and extra fat here and there was a mystery to her.

She shook her head, clearing those thoughts from her mind as she made her way into the kitchen.

She started making breakfast, thankful that it was a Sunday, meaning that none of them had to go into work. They could have a peaceful Sunday at home.
——
After breakfast, the kids insisted on a movie marathon. They also begged to be able to eat their candy, but Elle said no. Fred, however, managed to talk her into one piece per movie on the condition that it wouldn't spoil their lunch or supper.

The kids picked out their candy from their respective bags before settling down in the living room, still in their pajamas.

Elle put it in the movie The Emperor's New Groove.

She sat on the couch beside Fred, curling into his side as she watched the movie.

Two movies later (The Emperor's New Groove not included) Elle got up to fix lunch, leaving the others to play with Ben and Pitter.

She decided to simply fix sandwiches so that they could continue with their marathon. She brought them out to everyone before starting the next movie, The Little Mermaid.

After they finished, Elle used magic to clean everything up as she put in the next movie they were going to watch, Anastasia.

After Anastasia, Elle fixed supper which was simply macaroni and cheese and chicken nuggets.

Again, they ate in the living room while watching Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron.

They had time to watch one last movie before bed. The movie they voted to watch was Tangled.

Elle and Fred were surprised that their children were able to stay calm enough to watch seven movies! Normally it's a struggle to get them to stay still while eating supper at the Burrow! And this time they had candy in their systems!

Neither were going to complain, though. It was a relief to not have to chase any of them around the house.

Going to bed was a different story. Elle had to tell them four stories about her and Fred's time at Hogwarts before all three were asleep. She told them of the pranks they pulled, how Crookshanks nearly destroyed all of the Extendable Ears.

Elle smiled at all of them, kissing each's forehead before leaving their rooms.

She and Fred laid in bed for nearly an hour after that, talking about everything from trick-or-treating the previous night to the shop.

Elle was thankful that Fred made it through that battle on May 2, 1998. She hated to think about what her life would be like without him in it. He gave her the best life she could ask for, with four wonderful children, a cozy home, and a comical job. Did she ever regret not going to work at St. Mungo's after she got her healing certification? Sure.

She would volunteer her services at St. Mungo's every once in awhile, but she mainly saved her abilities for her family if they ever needed it. She didn't want to be an absentee parent, like she knew she would be if she worked at St. Mungo's.

Her life was perfect just how it was. Or at least, it was perfect to her.
