"Maman?" Victoire called as she came down the stairs of Shell Cottage.
"Yes?" Fleur replied, milling about doing some last minute cleaning.
"What time are the others coming?" Victoire asked, going into the living room, where Fleur was currently cleaning.
"Anytime," Fleur answered, shooing Dominique off of the couch so that she could fluff the pillows.
Victoire nodded with a smile before she started to help her mum. She was excited to see Brady. Sure, it had only been a couple of days but he's her best friend. Why wouldn't she be excited?
"Fleur, Bill?"
"Elle, Fred! Children!" Fleur exclaimed as she whipped around to see the family standing in the doorway.
"Come in, come in!" Bill boomed as he stood up from where he was sitting.
Dylan ran to his favorite uncle, laughing when Bill picked him up and twirled him around. "How are you, little man?"
Dylan giggled his cute little kid laugh.
"Hi Aunt Fleur!" Reese said in her cute, dainty voice. Elle always teased her and said she sounded like the little princess she is.
"Hello darling," Fleur said warmly.
"Vic!"
"Brady!"
Victoire and Brady laughed, as they had said each other's names in unison. The best friends embraced in the middle of the living room, being quite dramatic.
Josie was hiding behind her dad, as she is as shy as her mother was at her age. It takes her some time to get warmed up to people.
"Maman, can we go swimming?" Victoire asked politely.
"Yes, but bring Louis with you," Fleur replied.
"Can I too, Maman?" Dominique asked quietly.
Fleur and Elle exchanged glances. "Why don't we all go?" Elle suggested, looking into Dominique's blue eyes.
All the kids cheered, even quiet little Dominique and Josie before Victoire and Dominque ran upstairs.
Everyone had been instructed to wear or bring swimsuits, so all the males were already wearing their swim trunks. Reese and Josie had their swimsuits on under their tank tops and shorts, so they went to the bathroom to slip them off.
"Hello?" came Percy's serious voice from the kitchen.
"In here, Perce!" Fred called out.
Molly and Lucy were already in their swimsuits, clearly ready to go to the beach.
Audrey and Percy, on the other hand were quite the contrast in formal clothing. Not like suit and ties, but button up shirts and capris. Not at all like Fred and Elle, who were in shorts and flip flops.
The other children, including Louis, who had to be pulled out of his bedroom, came racing through the living room.
They went out the door and into the bright sunshine, eager to get down to the beach.
"We're here, your lives just got better," announced George as he and Callie strode into the room. Callie was wearing a bikini top and jean shorts, looking like a teenager ready to go to the beach, which she was.
Fred laughed, as did everyone else. "Cals, all of the other kids are already down at the beach if you want to go on," Elle explained. She was a teenage girl once as well and she knew Callie was dying to get outside.
Callie shot Elle a grateful glance as she shuffled outside, clearly trying not to run. She grabbed a towel from the pile near the door, as Bill and Fleur had them constantly stocked.
"So are we just going to be boring and stay in here and talk politics, or are we actually going to be the cool aunts and uncles that we are and go outside?" George inquired, looking Percy and Audrey up and down.
Bill chuckled at his brother's antics. "We're gonna go outside once everyone's here."
"Where are my annoying brothers?"
"In here, Gin!" George yelled.
Like the other children, Albus, James, Lily, and Teddy were already in their swimsuits. Ginny was in some shorts and a Chudley Cannons shirt with flip flops, while Harry was in shorts and a Gryffindor shirt.
"The kids are already outside," Elle told them as well, causing the children to bolt outside in a blur of color.
The adults laughed, only stopping when Ron and Hermione apparated in with Rose and Hugo.
"Kids are already outside," Elle told Rose and Hugo. She felt like a door-greeter, telling everyone where things were at.
Rose and Hugo nodded politely and made their way outside. Hermione quite resembled Audrey, in a button-up shirt and shorts. She was actually wearing flip flops, whereas Audrey was wearing flats.
"Who are we waiting on?" Ron asked, already eager to get outside and start grilling.
"Charlie, Molly, Arthur, Sammy, Draco, Scorpius, Elizabeth, and Cassandra," Fleur informed him.
The adults all looked quite funny, huddled in a tiny living room that was clearly not meant to hold so many people at once. No one was sitting, making the room seem far more crowded.
"Elle?"
Elle laughed at Sammy's unsure voice. "In here, Sam!"
Sammy and Draco emerged from the kitchen a moment later, their kids on their tails.
"Kids are at the beach," Elle informed her godchildren, who raced out as quick as possible. Elizabeth, of course didn't as she is only two years old, so she was still being held by her father.
"It's funny how they aren't paying us any attention," Fred joked, looking around.
"Dears?"
"In here, Mum, Dad!" Ginny responded.
"The best uncle has arrived!" boomed Charlie as he apparated smack-dab in the center of the room.
"Alright, let's all go outside! It's getting a bit too cramped in here," Bill stated with a small laugh.
As the adults all filed out, the kids were at the beach doing various things.
Reese and Dominique were looking for seashells, while Teddy and Callie were chasing Rose, Josie, Scorpius, and Albus around in the water. Molly and Lucy, as well as Cassandra, were building sandcastles. Cassandra was only four, so she wasn't doing near as much as Molly or Lucy.
Brady and Victoire were wading in the water, talking about Hogwarts. Hugo and Louis were swimming around in snorkel masks, wanting to see fish. Lily was covering Dylan in sand, causing Dylan to laugh.
It was all a blur of red and blond hair with a splash of turquoise and black. Reese, Dylan, Victoire, Louis, Albus, James, Teddy, Elizabeth, Cassandra, and Scorpius were the only ones there without red hair.
Reese and Dylan were both blond with grey eyes like their mother, Reese being a near carbon copy of her mother, even down to the cascading waves of her hair. Victoire and Louis have silvery hair and blue eyes, clearly inherited from their own mother. Albus and James were dark haired, with Albus having jet black hair like his father. Teddy had his hair turquoise, of course. Cassandra has a mix of her mother and father's eyes- a gorgeous blue with streaks of grey, and straight light blonde hair like her father. Elizabeth has short blonde curls, again the same color as her father's. Scorpius himself was a carbon copy of Draco.
The rest of the red heads all had hair of varying textures, some with unruly curls- Callie being a prime example- others with beachy waves like Rose, and still others with straight hair, those being Lily and all of the boys.
It was quite a sight for the adults. They could barely pick their own children out of the crowd!
The men all stood around a massive grill, wanting to seem as if they're quite manly. They were talking about things such as quidditch or Charlie's work.
The women were content to sit in the many beach chairs, drinking tea and watching their children play. They talked about small things, like how they were happy to have such wonderful children and how they couldn't believe they were growing up so fast. Why, it's Callie and Teddy's last year at Hogwarts this year! Reese and Dominque will be first years in a couple of years, with all the others not far behind!
Molly and Elle used magic to conjure up many picnic tables, allowing everyone to watch the waves as they enjoyed burgers and crisps.
The kids were quite disappointed when they were called up to eat, only comforted when Elle told them that they could go back to the beach after they finished all their food.
Percy and Audrey even laughed over dinner, cracking jokes with everyone else! Charlie made the kids ooh and ah with stories about his dragons, even though he embellished a few of the details. Fred and Elle sat beside each other like normal, exchanging glances.
Callie came up behind Fred with a bucket of sand. She put a finger to her mouth to silence those on the other side of the table.
She dumped the sand all over Fred, quickly running away when he turned and yelled, "I'm going to get you!"
Fred bounded up and chased her, distracting Elle. Teddy came up behind her and dumped a bucket of water on her, causing her to shriek and chase him.
It was a war of sand and water, with everyone dumping water in everyone. Draco was the only one spared, as he was still holding his two-year-old daughter.
He sat, amused, as he watched the Weasl-bees chase each other and throw sand and water.
"Your family is quite odd," he whispered to Elizabeth with a smirk on his face.
"And yet, they're perfect," he added a second later, a wistful look appearing in his eyes.
