NINETEEN
Around the middle of July, Molly and Arthur insisted on having Brady, Dylan, Josie, and Reese over to the Burrow for a sleepover. They claimed that they hadn't spent any quality time with their grandchildren and so they went to each of their children and stole their children for a night. That night it was Fred and Elle's turn.
And so they had the house to themselves. They didn't quite know what to do with themselves. They started the day off in bed, enjoying the feeling of each other's arms and not having the children bursting in and jumping on the bed.
After a bit, Fred hovered over Elle, looking into her eyes. "I love you," he murmured, eyes scanning her face as if he wanted to memorize every detail, from the freckles on her nose to the small scar on her lip from falling into a shelf at the shop.
She smiled softly, wrapping her arms around him, running her hands up his back. "And I love you."
He kissed her softly, one hand going to the hem of her shirt and the other still supporting his weight above her. His hand slipped under her shirt, sending shivers up her spine.
She kissed him back, slipping her hands under the hem of his shirt. His lips left hers, instead wandering down her jaw and to her neck, making Elle let out soft moans.
He lifted his head up and looked at Elle, who's eyes were closed and a small smile on her lips. His eyes wandered down to the scars on her chest and near her collarbone from the battle at the end of Harry's sixth year. Memories flashed in his head; Elle's pale face as blood kept leaking from the cuts, how he tried his hardest not to look when Madame Pomfrey cut her shirt off. He smirked slightly when he thought about how now he was the one to pull her shirt off. And so, he leaned down and pressed a kiss to each scar, making goosebumps rise on Elle's skin.
Elle let out a shaky breath, moving one hand to his chin, tilting his head up and bringing his lips back to hers. Using all her strength, she flipped them over so that she was on top of him. She slipped his shirt off and scanned over all of the scars from multiple battles and quidditch matches. She leaned down and kissed each one, treasuring this beautiful man.
To this day, Elle still couldn't believe that he chose her. She couldn't get over how lucky she was. She didn't take him for granted, remembering the hell she went through when he was in a coma.
His breathing turned heavy as he started to pull her shirt off. She pulled away from his chest to help him take it off, tossing it to the floor with his.

They didn't get out of bed until lunch. They moved around the house, Fred in nothing but sweatpants and Elle in her shorts and shirt. They made lunch together, Fred doing most of the cooking. Elle set the table and got their drinks- wine- ready.
The two of them ate at the table, talking and laughing until Fred turned solemn. "We've lived through three wizarding wars..." he trailed off.
Elle stopped chewing and swallowed. She nodded. "Yeah... we have," she replied softly.
He reached across the table and took her hand. "Hey... even though we don't remember the first one, we still survived it and that is something to be proud of."
She smiled sadly. "You're right, Fred. I just wish it would've only been two that we lived through. I hate that we weren't able to protect our kids from it."
"As do I, love. But we've raised them to be strong, to be able to protect themselves," he said as he squeezed her hand.
"I just hope they make it through everything. I don't want what happened to us happen to them."
"We won't be able to protect them forever, love. Besides, Marvello is in Azkaban for good now. We don't have to worry about it."
Elle have him a look that seemed to say "I'm still going to worry and you know it."
He sighed. "How about we have a movie marathon- something other than Disney. Perhaps I can distract you some more," he said with a smirk.
"I don't know, I really love Disney," Elle replied teasingly, pulling her hand out of Fred's.
He laughed. "We could watch Can't Buy Me Love, While You Were Sleeping, and Sixteen Candles," he said with a smile. He didn't bring up The Breakfast Club as he knew that she only watched that with Sirius.
"Alright, I guess I can forego Disney for one night," she told him, still teasing.
They had already finished, so they stood and cleared the table together. The used magic to wash the dishes, so they went out to the living room and put in the movie. They cuddled on the couch, Fred's hand slipping under her shirt and resting on her waist while Elle put her head on Fred's chest.
She was never able to picture her life ever being perfect, but at this moment it was.
