First Chapter

The train station was bustling with people, but nobody was paying attention at a family, a very peculiar family, indeed. Mother and daughter were running with a trunk, while the father was carrying a cage of a very agitated cat. They didn't even stop running when they were close enough to collide against the barrier between platform 9 and 10. Nevertheless, nobody seemed noticing when the three disappeared through the barrier, without leaving any traces.

Meanwhile, on the other side, on platform 9 ¾ a scarlet train was preparing to depart. When the family arrived running from a wall not one of parents, wishing their kids goodbye, eyed them suspiciously.

The daughter, who had auburn curly hair as the mother and caramel skin as the father,  had boarded on the train that the doors closed, leaving her enough time to wave to her parents before the platform would have taken place by the busy city of London. She looked at the city with a grin on her face, while wondering to herself if the year would be full of detentions. Even if she knew the answer, obviously she will finish in detention with the so many pranks she and her friends had in mind. It would surprise her if she wouldn't.

Deciding to search for her best friends, Atara took off.

Walking through the compartments searching for Isobel and Jason for what seemed an hour wasn't exciting or pleasant. One thing that always had left Atara curious was how everyone could find their friends in one or two tries, apart from her.

Many times, she thought of unleashing her thrilled cat, Nathan, in a compartment, and see what would happen. Her cat was permanently eager to meet new people, even if he showed his eagerness in a peculiar way. However, she had to admit that it wasn't a brilliant idea. Therefore, she kept walking, searching for her lost friends.

When she could already see the end of the last train carriage she heard a voice calling from behind.

- Atara, I really hope it's you. I've been searching forever!

Smirking the girl turned around.

- Well, I'm happy for you. You found the one and awesome Atara Queen!

The girl who stood before her had light brown hair that circled her pretty face; which was half covered by her Hufflepuff scarf and showed her stunning green eyes, which she rolled in annoyance, despite the grin on her lips who said otherwise.

- Let's go before Jason goes in full Mother mode.

Commented Isobel as the two hugged each other, for then quickly parting away. Isobel faced red.

- Well, don't want to see that!

Atara said, with an enormous grin plastered on her face.

::o::o::o::o::o::o::o::o::o::o::o::o::o::o::o::

The two girls arrived rapidly at the compartment finding it occupied by two boys. Both with black hair and with blue eyes, that reminded of the clouded sky.

- Hey Joshua! Did you too miss my fabulousness?

Asked Atara jokingly, plopping down next to her Hufflepuff friend.

- Actually, I came to speak to my little icky twin.

Responded Joshua, but before he could receive an answer, the trolley lady appeared at the compartment's door, with her famous trolley full of sweets.

- Something from the trolley, dears?

- Yes! I would like some cauldron pasties, at least eight chocolate frogs and that's all for me, you guys?

Said Atara fervently, while she took her sweets and sat back again piling her goods on the compartment table. Then it was Isobel's turn to order her sweets.

- I would like three cauldron pasties, and four liquorice wands, thank you.

- I will just have fifteen chocolate frogs, please. You Josh?

Asked Jason.

- Nah, I pass. I even have to return to my compartment, and by the way, Sam's mum would have probably filled her with delicious muffins. Goodbye!

With these words, Joshua exited the compartment, where the trolley lady was just seconds before, and walked away.

- In any case, why did your twin come to visit funny peasants and us poor cowards?

Asked dramatically Atara, while opening a packet of cauldron pasties.

- He was trying to scare me with a ghost story, quite lame actually.

- A ghost story? I don't remember any Halloween ghost story, please enlighten us!

Giggled Isobel, receiving a glare from Jason. He didn't like being picked on, he would get really pissed off and the famous Hufflepuff patience of his was gone. That meant that you had to run away, and fast, because he was goddamn good at hexes.

However, he began to

- During the Battle at Hogwarts a sixth year had joined the battle, she was silent and quick at taking down Death Eaters form behind. She even knew the school as her palms; until the first part, many people were killed. She went to the Black Lake, searching for bodies to retriever, and to bring to the Great Hall, but all she found was hers. She had died and become a ghost; she was terrified. Nobody saw her ever again, until this summer, where she began to appear running and swearing revenge to the one that killed her.

An awkward silence followed the story with the only noise of eating and munching. Finally, Atara opened her mouth to talk.

- How you told it is lame, Jas, I would have preferred if Joshua told it. You know, the Gryffindor brave vibe.

- Thank you, Atara.

Murmured annoyed Jason.

- It actually seems quite possible, if we spread the story it may tur useful to frighten some first year inexperienced with magic.

Commented Isobel opening a new packet of liquorice wands.

- I don't...

Began Jason, but was cut off by Atara, who exclaimed.

- Brilliant! By the way we could prank Veronica's telescope to leave a black circle on her eye, maybe even permanent!

They continued talking about the year pranks, laughing and having a generally good time.

::o::o::o::o::o::o::o::o::o::o::o::o::o::o::o::

Atara was prancing happily in dreamland, her head rested on Isobel's shoulder, while Jason was scowling at the Hufflepuff.

- Before you went in search of Atara, we were discussing something.

Isobel looked out of the window with nonchalance.

- Yes, you know exactly what I'm talking about.

His glare softened.

- If you need to tell me something, ever, I'm here. Just to tell you that I am here.

A comfortable silence followed the statement. Isobel smiled slightly, and moving her gaze towards Atara.

- Thank you.

- No problem, Iso. I will be your big brother if you need me.
