Chapter 6 - Murder in His eyes
I felt a chilling breeze around me and herd a rustle nearby. I instantly shook awake and shot right up from the sleeping bag. The campfire was but embers now. I crossed my arms, slightly cold, and held myself.
"G-guys?!" I yelled. No response. I was afraid to move, fearing something would come out. Where are my friends?! Did they fall asleep?!
"T-Taylor? Nate?... anyone...?"
No voices were herd but my own. My friends had disappeared... Was this a cruel trick? Get me out here and abandon me?! Like that coward Jason... just leave me to die!? Their cowards and afraid! Or were they going to double cross me and turn me in after gaining their trust?
...No... they wouldn't do that. Taylor, wouldn't do that.
At that moment of realization, I saw a light. A light coming from behind trees a little away.
I got up cautiously in curiosity. I stepped over to where the light came from. Behind the tall oaks of the forest, It came from a tunnel into the side of a hill. A 2 x 2 tunnel lit with redstone torches, unable to see the end as it was obscured by my line of sight.
"Maybe they went in here? No, why would they? But... why am I getting this curious feeling?"
I decided to walk in. The tunnel continued to go on for what felt like hours. I still went onward, occasionally looking behind me. It was nothing but a straight shot of cold stone and the little light from the torches, hearing only my footsteps trace across the stone. Soon, I saw the end of the cave.
In the end, it was a room, only about 4 by 4 by 3,
On the wall was pinned a sign. It read "WAKE UP."
Shivers went down my spine. I dared not take a step, and the level of eerie feeling made my legs shiver in place.
*step step step*
I thought I herd footsteps and quickly turned around.
I saw Herobrine, was face to face with him, but he quickly disappeared onto the darkness almost instantly as I turned around, running away. "H-hey!" I yelled and sprinted into action. I chased after him, but had no sight of where he went. But it was a one way cave, so no other shafts for him to dart down, he couldn't have gone too far. The cave felt much longer then before until I came to another dead end. What?! How was I gonna get out?! It's a Notch damn one way cave! How did I meet a dead end?!
Then some stone fell behind me, and dust tossed to the air. I was sealed in. I was in a 3 by 3 by 3 cube of sorts and I panicked, hyperventilating due to the small space, I hate small spaces. Trying to bang on the stone to break it, only was worthless as it did not even crack, it felt hard as bedrock. I leaned on the wall slid down. I held my head in my knees, trying to calm down, but it was all futile. I couldn't stop gasping. I was worried I would suffocate myself in the small space. I started to tear up, until I felt a hand on my shoulder. I looked up, and I was face to face with Herobrine. He stared at me with a mostly blank face, but still with a small smile.
"su fo lla rof reisae eb lliw ti ,teiuq eB"
I shook awake but I felt a hand on my mouth so I couldn't yell. I looked up and saw Herobrine standing over me, welding a battle axe in his left hand. I was pinned down and wide eyed, we were inches from each other. He leaned down to my ear and whispered.
"Be quiet, it will be easier for all of us..."
I saw him raise his axe. This was it, This was my end, He was going to kill me. My heart was pounding out of my chest.
*twang*
There was a sound of something fired and the noise of flesh being torn open, squished around as something was shot. I herd a grunting yell in pain, and Herobrine stumbled off me, holding his left shoulder that dripped with blood with an arrow in it. I stood up, scrambling, and saw Jason holding his bow.
"Get. Away." He muttered.
I saw Herobrine grow an angered face as he glared at us. I ran right behind Jason, trying to hide myself.
Herobrine stood across from us, a little hunched over holding his shoulder. "You... you summoned me, Ranger. The only one ever..." He stared right at my eyes. I shivered in place, the power they held... I was nearly paralyzed just by looking at him.
"If you want Ranger, you're going though us!" Nate yelled, grasping the diamond sword.
Herobrine closed his eyes, still slightly hunched over and holding his shoulder, He chuckled a little with an evil, almost sadistic smile. "Please. Step away now before you get hurt. No need to waste a life, I already have enough to sort though. I have business that needs to be done." He then ripped the arrow clean out of him, not even flinching. He then held it, and burned to ash right in his hand.
I glanced to Taylor... he was shaking in... frustration? Fear? No, Anger. He was holding a small switch blade in his hand, and I saw him grit his teeth and shake more, staring right at Herobrine. I looked at him, worried at what he may do.
"You... you're the monster who's been terrorizing my friend!! My BEST friend! My life long friend..."
"Yes. What are you going to do about it, boy?"
Suddenly, Taylor charged at him. I saw a look of bloody murder in his eyes. Herobrine dodged his charge, and in counter, slashed Taylor's back with his axe, all while looking unimpressed. I herd Taylor screech in pain and fall to the ground, un-moving as blood seeped from his shirt and jacket. I stared in shock. Taylor's eyes were still open though dead, color and life drained from them.
"Pathetic waste of life I say. He must have not had much to live for." Herobrine said in a monotone voice, turning back to us with a smile. "Well that's another soul to sort though."
"My... brother..." Jason shivered his voice, he shivered when holding the bow. He shook so much so you would think he would have fallen by now.
"I must admit, leaving Ranger out as bait was a good idea, but a poorly executed one. You have some skill for being... pathetic and weak humans."
Nate growled. "Hand me the fucking bow!" Throwing the sword down, He grabbed the bow right from Jason's hands and loaded back. He pointed, and tried to shoot Herobrine, but he teleported to doge and missed. Another draw back to be shot once more and missed.
"Grr... stop moving you-- You pussy!!" He yelled.
He went to reload the bow, but there were no arrows around him.
"Oh no---"
Nate was stabbed right though his chest by Herobrine. He slumped over and the bow fell from his hands. Blood leaked from his wound and some from his mouth. He looked at me with a sad look to his eyes before they finally closed as he died.
Herobrine then shook the body from his weapon, bright red blood streaking down the side of beautiful diamonds crafted to make the perfect weapon for him. The blood splattered on my face, and I was wide eyed from such. It almost felt like I was dead.
"Oh, you have a little something on your face, Ranger." He smiled and laughed.
Meanwhile, Jake stood in shock, and was trying to step away quietly, but Herobrine saw this. Jake then turned tail, running faster then I had ever seen him. Herobrine threw the axe, spinning in the air, hitting Jake's body, then going so deep to pin his body to a tree.
He walked over and pulled the axe out, leaving the body to plop to the ground.
"Are we done wasting life yet? I don't have much patience. Hand her over, and this won't get any worse."
"Why do you want her dead so much?!" Jason screamed.
Herobrine chuckled a little.
"Oh I don't want her dead by me..."
With lighting, Herobrine charged right in front of Jason and pinned him to a tree, axe handle over his neck. "I want her to end her OWN life... And you know fully well why I can't kill her..."
With a quiet but sadistic laugh, Herobrine slashed Jason's face so bad, I almost couldn't tell who it was. The body dropped to the ground with a hard thump, blood oozing out of Jason's face. Er... what's left of it anyway.
Monica broke down and began to cry as she hugged me. "Ranger, I'm so sorry we did this to you! I'm so so sorry!! We should never have--- ACK!!!'
I felt blood splatter on my face. Monica's body fell limp and slid off the weapon, Herobrine stood in front of me with a sly smile.
I had just watched 5 of my closest friends die in front of me, by a person who should only be some story. I couldn't say anything, I couldn't breathe. I felt dead inside.
He laughed as He glanced to me. "Oh It won't be so hard, you can possibly join them soon enough. I could push off a cliff, I can hang you, there's a lot of options here. But I'm not the one who will kill... YOU will."
I grew angry as tear ran down my face like nothing before. He killed my friends.... killed them... this rage... what was this? This I can't even explain, I felt out of my body.
"You... Killed...." I muttered and my hand went shaking, beyond my control. Suddenly, I felt like I lost control and grabbed the diamond sword from the ground.
"The Void may take me, but you will never!"
"What's that supposed to--"
I ran and slashed Herobrine right in his left eye, I herd him scream in pain and I went for another slash on his arm, slicing vertically down. I saw his eyes glow brighter like nothing before. A white aura blazed from them. I held the weapon close to me with murder in my eyes and was ready to slash it though his throat... He KILLED my friends! I will kill him!!!
I saw Herobrine grit his teeth then smile as I ran to him. I went for a slash, but he disappeared into black smoke. Where did he go?!
"Show yourself, Coward!!"
Then, I felt a hard thunk to the back of my head, and my legs shook as I fell to the ground. I felt fatigued as the rage inside me calmed... I now felt like I just had a rush... and now came the crash. That hard hit to my skull... I think I feel blood.
"No fight this Ranger!! Fight...! You can do... this..." I tried to fend off this sleepy feeling that came over me, but it was futile. I succumbed to my fate and went in darkness.
