Taking the Job

"You're not serious, are you?" Rumi asks Keigo as they walk towards the dorms.
"Of course I am, Rumi," the blonde male replies. "It'll be good experience for me."
"Do you not remember the incident that happened 12 years ago?" The white haired female stood in front of him. "Or do you not care about that at all?"
"Of course I remember it!" he snapped before turning his gaze downward. "There isn't a day that goes by where I don't think about it.." Tears started forming in Keigo's eyes as he was reminded of the terrified screams of his friends who were trapped and killed inside the walls of his childhood restaurant. The memory of his best friend's blue eyes, wide with terror as he became trapped inside the flames, was the most vivid.
"...Kei..." Rumi gently placed her hand on his shoulder. "I'm sorry I brought it up. I guess I'm just surprised that you're willing to back after so long.."
"Yeah," Keigo replied, wiping away the tears. "I don't quite know myself. I guess I need closure of some kind."
"Well, whatever the reason, just try to be safe, alright?" Keigo laughed as they continued walking.
"It's a night shift job. How dangerous can it get?"
