Prologue II (Clockwork Prince)
Disclaimer: SOME of the dialogue in this chapter, all characters (but Grace and Philip), the main story line and settings belong to the magnificent Cassie Clare. Grace, Philip and my own story plot belong to me. The Infernal Devices do not belong to me.

-*-*-*-*- Will -*-*-*-*-
Will sat in an armchair by the edge of the bed, staring at Grace's face. She was feverish, her cheeks red, her skin too hot to touch, her breathing short and rapid. Every so often, she'd let out a little cry that would make Will's heart wrench and lurch. It pained him so much to see her like this.
He used to think that he was in love with her. When they were fifteen, he thought he was. That scared him, not only because of his curse but also the fact that she was...well, Grace. The way she kept going no matter what hit her was amazing. She never failed to flabbergast him. But he soon realised that he didn't love her in that way. It was more of a brotherly affection, like her and Jem.
Will sighed. Jem. He hadn't been himself recently. Ever since Mortmain attacked the Institute, he had become angry, sullen and empty. It was only when he was with Tessa out in London or when Will said something funny to him did the old Jem return. But that sad, empty expression always came back. Will leant forward and rubbed the back of his neck. Without Grace, Jem couldn't be Jem. Grace meant the world to him. It was like part of him had gone to sleep with her.
Will stood and drew up the covers around Grace, pausing only to kiss her forehead. "I'll be back soon," he whispered. "Don't you worry." He left the room, trotted down the stairs and out of the Institute.
Normally, Will went to buy Jem's drugs with Grace. Jem hated to buy them himself, even though he had offered to go each time. That and the fact Grace wouldn't allow it. If Jem didn't want to, Jem didn't have to, in her book.
Now Will was meeting with Molly, a ghost who supplied useful but technically illegal things. "Hallo, Mol," Will greeted her. "The usual, if you don't mind." Molly grinned and disappeared. She returned in two seconds, holding out the packets of yin fen. "And...what I asked yesterday?"
"I don't know of anything that will hold a Greater Demon like Yanluo at bay," old Mol said. "I'm sorry, William. I truly am. She was a lovely girly." Will only nodded. He expected that.
"Well, thanks anyway," he said and turned to leave.
"Oh, by the way, Mr 'erondale," Molly said. "Another chap was down 'ere a couple o' nights ago asking for exactly the same thing you were." Will froze.
"Who?" he asked, clenching his fists. He already knew the answer.
"I think 'is name was Philip Blackthorn," she said. "You know, the one the Clave are after?"

Hello you lovely lot!!!
So, that was the prologue for Clockwork prince! I'm actually quite looking forward to writing this. The story will be similar as Clockwork Prince (like I did with Clockwork Angel) as well as the added different bits with Grace. BUT, especially with Jem, there will be some character changes in the first half of the story.
Ok so enough of me blabbing. See you next chapter! Don't forget to comment and vote!
Love y'all!
