26| The first day
"Lucy, wake up. Its time to leave." Gray spoke gently as he shook the peaceful blondes shoulder.
Due to the shortage of beds the two had to share one. It didn't bother either of them. Lucy's eyes fluttering op,en, looking quite tired still. She let out a soft yawn before a weak smile formed on her lips.
"It's about time." She laughed before pushing herself put, being propped up by her elbows.
Gray slipped out from underneath the covers, followed by Lucy. She had left her soft white dress laying in the chair when she changed into her date outfit. After Gray exited the room, she sliped out of her current clothes and into her normal outfit.
Then, she placed all of her belongings back in her pack and swung it around her shoulder. Gray filed into the room after a few moments and Lucy handed him the room key.
When the two reached the lobby, the rest of the group had already made it there. Looking bored out of their minds.
"Took your time did you too? I hardly think it takes that long to get ready." Eva questioned in a hinting manner.
"Aunt Eva!" Lucy shouted.
Gray shook his head."I merely thought Lucy deserved a few extra minutes of sleep."
"What ever. Lets get going, the sun just came up so it's still cool." Erza spoke, pulling out her giant cart of luggage.
The rest followed her lead, Lucy, Levy, and Eva chatted about the book once more. Natsu fell back with Gray, putting his hands behind it head, trying to act "Cool". He flashed him an annoyed glare.
"So you took Lucy out to dinner last night." Natsu spoke.
"Uh, yeah I did." Gray replied, not sure what he was doing.
"Touch her and I'll kick your ass." He threatened.
Gray raised his eyebrow."I don't see what it matters to you."
Natsu's glare darkened. "It doesn't just don't do it again."
WIth that Natsu ran up to the front as they left town, starting their longest journey. Gray shook his head and shrugged his shoulders.
"Good talk." He muttered.
"Lucy do you really believe this Library still exsists? Do you even really know what you are looking for?" Eva questioned.
"It does exists. It has too, and yes, I know what Im looking for. Its a book called 'The Celestials'." Lucy explained.
"The Celestials! Oh I've ALWAYS wanted to read that!" Levy squealed.
"What is it?"Eva questioned some more.
"It is a book written five days after the Dragon Civil War ended. The person who wrote it, Evion Grey, was there. She lived through it! It's said the book holds the truth about what happened. It was one of the newer works added to the Library before it went missing." Lucy went further into her explanation.
"I see why you'd want to go so bad. It could be everything you are looking for!" Eva smile sweetly.
Lamia Scale was the next stop on their map, it was several hundred miles away and out take at least three days for them reach.
The road out of Hargeon was near the beach, so the small group had a lovely view of the ocean on there way. When the sun reached its peak in the sky, the air had heated up at least 50 degrees. Making walking all the harder for them.
Lucy, who had the upper hand in the situation was hiding out inside her clock spirit. He kept out all the heat and even walked on his own, making her traveling much easier.
"Ay Luc. You wanna let me in!" Levy smiled weakly, her forehead drenched in sweat.
Lucy scooted over and patted the space next to her, her mouth was moving but nothing was heard.
"Come sit next to me, She said." Horologium spoke in her place.
His glass door opened and Levy hopped in, Lucy handing her a lemonade.
"Oi, why do they not have to walk?" Natsu questioned in a jealous manor.
"Shut up, Natsu. No complaining out of you!" Erza hissed.
"Aye, no need to get hostile!" Natsu threw his hands in the air.
"Erza?" Happy spoke, getting her attention.
"Yes, Happy?" Everything Erza said seemed to be bold and proud.
"How come you wanted Natzu to come with you guys?" He questioned.
"I read about the Library and the area its in. As we near it, the trail will only get rougher. We will need his help." She replied.
"You guys couldn't have just done it on your own?" Natsu asked, butting into the conversation.
"We could have, yes. But I wanted to be safe. Do you have a problem with that?" Erza narrowed her eyes.
Natsu took a few steps away from her before shaking his head violently. They were relatively quiet from then on out. As the day went by it only got hotter.
Natsu would have drank all the water they had if Erza hadnt stopped him. But just as the air started to cool off they entered a forest, the tree tops covering the sky from their view and protecting them from the suns blinding light.
A few miles in they ran into a small village, hiding underneath the trees balconies. They passed through without much need to stop. Horologium poofed away, letting Lucy and Levy drop down to the ground. Causing them both to yelp.
Meaning that they had to actually walk. But considering it was no long blistering hot and they didn't have to worry about the sun.
"This was such a lovely way to go Lu-chan!" Levy grinned happily.
"I know! The scene is beautiful!" Lucy smiled in reply.
The two girls chatted about the colors of the flowers for the next few hours. Each of them shades they never seen before. But they knew on this journey they would see much more that stunned them.
