21| Library of Dweron

Lucy sat up all night, her eyes never becoming heavy enough to force her into slumber. Gray had bought her a few books that were now place on the rooms bookshelf. But none of them peaked her interest at the moment.

Her mind wandered to one of the subjects that had she had been thinking about the past few days. What really happened 400years ago? Why were Celestial Wizards blamed?

Lucy truly believed that her kind was not at fault, in any way. She needed to know she was right. It made her stomach ache just thinking about being wrong.

She got up off the bed and headed out the bedroom door. A yawn surfaced as she stretched out her muscles but not a hint of tiredness feel upon her. She made her way down the hallway, straight ahead of her was the kitchen. But she took a left at the end of the hallway, just before the kitchen. Coming to three steps that went down into the living room. It wasn't where she was headed though, at the end of the room on the right hand side, was Gray's study. Where he kept all his books.

As she entered the room, she flipped on the light switch. The blinding light revealed three walls encased it book shelves, while one wall had two cushioned chairs up against it with a side table in between them.

When she walked to the first bookshelf on the right, she studied the books hard. Eventually her eyes fell upon one titled "Celestial Wrath". It was a wonder Gray owned a book like this. She snatched it off the shelf and sat down in a chair with it.

"Celestial wizards worship a spirit named the Spirit King. They are his puppets. He agreed to aid them if they brought him small children to feast on. Which is exactly what they did." Lucy read allowed as her eyes skimmed the first page.

"Why does anyone believe this stuff? Why would they think anyone would do that?" She spoke to herself.

"Most people hate because they are taught to." Gray's voice came from the doorway.

Lucy glanced up from the book and saw him standing shirtless against the door frame. "I didn't mean to wake you."

Gray shook his head and he walked over to the twin chair and sat down. "I'd been awake for a few hours. It's far too hot in there to sleep. Celestial Wrath, huh? That one talks about they are the pawns of the spirits."

Lucy shook her head. "I've never known that to be true."

Gray shrugged his shoulders. "I never said it was true. Frankly I don't see how it would be."

"I want to know, Gray" Lucy started.

"Want to know what?" He replied.

She looked back up at him after glancing down at the cover of the book. "I want to know why we are blamed for the war."

"I wouldn't have that answer, but Fairy Tail has a library. I bet there will be something in there that will reveal some clues to where you can find it." He informed her.

"Looks like I'll be spending all of tomorrow searching it." She responded.

That's exactly what she did, she got up early and left Gray a note telling him where she had went and set out for the guild. Erza was always one of the first people to the guild and Lucy knew Erza could help her find the library.

As Lucy entered Fairy Tail she spotted Mirajane, Elfman who seemed to be Mira's brother, Cana, Jet, Erza, and master himself. She walked straight over to Erza, wanting to get started on her search as fast as possible.

"Aye, Lucy! You are up early!" Mirajane smiled lightly.

Lucy nodded and flashed her a smile in return. "It seems that way doesn't it?"

But then she drew her attention back to Erza. "Morning Erza."

"Good morning, Lucy. You've got quite an early start. You and Gray don't normally come in until lunch." She replied.

"Yeah, I actually need to find Fairy Tail's library." Lucy spoke.

"Oh, I can show you were it is." Erza got up and began walking away from her seat.

Lucy stared at the ground, her mind was yet again racing. She wondered what she'd even find. Or if any of it would help her put the pieces of them puzzle together. That she doubted, though she wanted to keep hope for.

She didn't look up until Erza came to a stop. In front of her were two lovely oak wood doors with engravings of vines and roses.

"This is the Library." Erza spoke as she pulled them open, revealing a room the looked like a long and thick hallway with a 16foot ceiling.

"Wow!" Lucy gaped in awe at the numerous amount if books that lined the walls.

"It has pretty much anything you need. I'll come check on you later."Erza smiled before walking out and shutting the double doors behind her.

Lucy walked farther in. Scattered across the floor were piles upon piles of books and loose papers. She had no idea where to begin. It would take her weeks to search this place, if there was even what she was looking for here.

She went straight to the first pile of books, deciding that the piles should be searched first. But all she found in it were books on people in history and merchant guilds. None of them applied to her.

Three hours she spent searching the piles and paper covering the wood flooring, still she had nothing. But after a while Levy strolled in through the doors. When she spotted Lucy she flashed her a smile.

"Gray told me I might find you here." She spoke breaking the hours long silence Lucy had kept.

"You're a bookworm aren't you?" Lucy questioned.

Levy nodded proudly. "Yep, I've read every book in this library!"

"Do you have any books here that could tell me anything about Celestial wizards during the Dragon Civil War?" She perked up, hoping she wouldn't have to search anymore.

Levy unfortunately shook her head. "I'm afraid not but we do have a book about an ancient library which may or may not hold scrolls and books like that."

"Really? Where is it? I musty read it!" Lucy grinned from ear to ear at the thought of being close to the knowledge she wanted to possess.

Levy climbed up a latter to nearly to top of the bookshelf, grabbing a red book from among others. Then she slid back down, trotting over to Lucy and handing her the book.

"The Library of Dweron. It holds work from over 700 years ago. Sadly, it hasn't been seen in 290 years." Levy read the cover before giving her a heartbreaking fact.

"290 years? How does a building just go missing?" Lucy questioned.

"I have looked in on that actually. The area the Library was recorded being in is a desert. Due to constant winds and shifting sand, I came to the conclusion that it sank underneath to surface of the sand." She replied.

"How strange." Lucy held the book up and studies it.

This could be the key to unlocking secrets Lucy has only dreamed of knowing.
