"Do you realize how absolutely crazy you sound right now? Natsu is a dragon slayer. He has the power to take down a DRAGON!" Gray shouted the last word to emphasize just how insane Lucy sounded to him.

"And I wield a magic that supposedly created the black dragon and killed all the other dragons . But in reality my magic isn't that powerful." Lucy answered as she took a bit of her freshly made waffles.

Gray shook his head as he sat down at the small table across from her. "I don't understand what you are trying to do."

Lucy put her fork down and looked Gray in the eyes. "If Natsu beats me in a fight, that I fight with full force....maybe he'll see that I'm not powerful enough to do the things he has blamed on Celestial Mages."

Gray pursed his lips and frowned. "Have you even been in a battle before, Lucy?"

"Uh..well.. I haven't know. But my spirits have." She admitted.

"I hope you know what you are doing, because Natsu is honestly the last person in the guild you'd want to fight." He replied.

Lucy pushed back her chair and stood up. A confident smile plastered across her face. "I'm ready to challenge a dragon slayer."

Gray stood as well and hung his head as he placed his hands in his pockets. He let out a light sigh before walking out of the kitchen. "Alright, let's go then."

Lucy grabbed her keys off the table by the door and strapped them to her leg underneath her dress. Gray followed her out of the house and into the street. They were silent as they made their way to Fairy Tail where they knew Natsu would be.

Gray wanted nothing more at this moment to stop Lucy. To find some way to convince Lucy that this was a bad idea and to back down. But he knew it wouldn't work. She wanted the approval of Natsu and it was clear she was going to do anything to get it. Even if it meant letting him nearly kill her.

Lucy didn't know how truly powerful Natsu was. No matter how many times he was knocked down he'd get back up. He never lost, never back down. Gray knew he'd be thrilled as soon s Lucy challenged him, it would give him and opportunity to get rid of her. Gray didn't want her gone or hurt. He wanted her exactly as she was.

Too soon did they reach Fairy Tail but before Lucy could open the door, Gray grabbed her arm and stopped her in her tracks. She turned to look at him, seeing his face full of worry.

"Please." Was all he said.

Lucy shook her head. "I'm sorry, Gray. But I have too. Don't worry, I'll be fine. It's not like he's going to kill me or anything." She ended with a smile.

With that Lucy entered Fairy Tail, followed by Gray who was dreading what ever came next. Lucy searched the guild with her eyes for a certain pink haired boy. She spotted him with a white haired girl she knew as Lisanna.

"Natsu!" She shouted boldly.

Natsu's eyes drifted over to her and his expression changed. Before he seemed to be in deep thought. But now, even from the distance she was at, Lucy could see the fire burning in his eyes. He stood up to face her.

"I challenge you to a fight!" Lucy added when enough attention had been drawn to her.

Natsu snickered. "Why? So you can kill me just like your kind killed my father?"

That's when Lucy smiled and shook her head. "No, to prove to you my magic isn't what you think it is."

"Fine! I accept your challenge. This is the perfect time for some revenge." Natsu grinned wickedly.

The crowd of guild members began to whisper to each other. Muffled muttering was all that Lucy could hear from where she was standing but she knew they they were questioning what she was doing.

Natsu followed Lucy outside behind the guild, so they wouldn't destroy it in the process of beating each other bloody but also so they wouldn't be seen by any citizens. The crowd came out after, along with Gray who was planning on stepping in if Natsu started to go overboard.

The crowd formed an oval around the two who stood about five yards apart, staring into each others souls. Erza stepped up, serving as somewhat of a referee. She seemed just as nervous as Gray did. But Lucy shook off all the worried looks of the guild members.

"You sure you want to do this, Blondie? I won't go easy on you." Natsu questioned.

Lucy smiled back at him. " I wouldn't want it any other way."

"You got him, Lucy!" Levy shouted during the silence.

"You will battle each other at full force. But if it gets too out of hand, I will step in and stop it. Ready?" Erza spoke up.

The two nodded in agreement. Erza stepped back and prepared herself to watch. "FIGHT!" She shouted.

Natsu ran at Lucy, a fire ball burning in his hand. Lucy stood still, not even taking her keys out yet. As Natsu reached her he swung his fist straight at her head. But Lucy anticipated it and moved her head just as his fist would have fit her.

She took a couple steps back and snatched her keys from their holster. "Gate of the bull, I open thee. Taurus!"

Magic flashed through the air and suddenly a giant bull appeared in front of her with a huge double sided battle axe in his hands. Gasps came from the crowed, most of them had never seen a Celestial Spirit. They just appear out of thin air.

Natsu frowned and began to attack Taurus. His flames making contact with Taurus's axe. Natsu's knuckles splitting open from the force behind each swing. But just as it seemed Taurus had the upper hand, Natsu just the roar of the fire dragon and Taurus disappeared.

"I certainly hope that wasn't your most powerful spirit." Natsu grinned mischievously
