"But Natsu, you promised remember? You said no matter what happens you will always be there to protect me." Lucy felt tears come to her eyes.
Over the past few days she had spent almost every waking minute with Natsu. To her it felt like she had always known him. There was something special about him that made her believe every word that came out of his mouth.
"That was before I knew what you were. You should have told me. I would have just left you to the guards and saved myself the trouble." Natsu spat, his words vicious and cold.
With that Natsu left, walking out the large guild doors and out into the streets of Magnolia. Lucy stood there, completely still. Pain swelled up in her chest and violent sobs attempted to make their way to the surface.
The guild grew loud as the members argued with each other over the matter. Lucy slid down on the stairs, Masters small hand placed itself on her shoulder.
A few tears escaped her eyes, she let them roll down her warm cheeks as she gripped the railing next to her. Her body was shaking as the cries took over her body.
"Lucy!" Levy shouted as her and Mirajane made their way to her.
Out of all the people who voted in favor of Lucy, she knew these two the best. Every one else she had only spoken to once or twice.
"Are you alright?! I can't believe Natsu would say those things!" Mira spoke furiously, clenching her fists in front of her.
"I can, do you remember when we were younger, Mira? Natsu said that if he ever met a Celestial Wizard, he would destroy them on sight." Levy reminded Mira.
"Destroy them? Why?" Lucy questioned as she attempted to calm herself down.
"I guess he had a bad experience with them or something. I don't really know, he never said why." Levy answered.
"What is wrong with you?" Suddenly master's voice boomed over everyone else.
He was once again standing on the railing, overlooking all of the members. He had a look of pure disgust on his face, or a look a very disappointed father would give to his children.
"You are going to let a girl, who has never once harmed anyone die because of the magic she was born with?" He questioned.
"That's only because she was never given the chance to hurt anyone. They did the right thing taking her in so young. Who knows what kind of evil and vile things she is planning to do if we let her into the guild. Celestial Wizards are born evil, Master. History itself proves that!" A man that Lucy knew as Gajeel stood up from the back of the room, a grim look on his face.
"Should we really even be thinking about giving her a chance? I know that not all of us have seen the power of a Celestial Wizard, but I have. This matter is not to be taken lightly. Rogue wizards are very dangerous and who really knows how much power she is packing inside that body." Another man stood up.
Lucy had no met him before but she had indeed seen him. He had shoulder length golden brown hair with nearly matching eyes.
"I think we should listen to Gildarts." A woman stood up this time. She looked much like Mirajane but with very short hair.
"Lisanna!!" Mira shouted angrily. It dawned on Lucy that the two must be sisters.
"If Natsu doesn't trust her than I don't think any of us should!" Lisanna glared.
"Look at her guys! Does she honestly look like she is out to get someone? Shes all beat up and even a bit frail. This girl is pure, I can feel it. We have nothing to worry about." Erza stood up and faced the rest of the guild.
"We will take her in. Weather some of you approve or not. If she does turn on us, I believe we could stand up to her. But that's not going to happen." She added.
Lucy stood up."Erza!"
"Lucy we will let you in, if you swear on your life that you will never turn on us and that you will use your power to protect our members." Erza stood tall.
Lucy nodded with a small smile. "Of course! I swear on my life!"
"Then it is settled." Master spoke as Mirajane put what looked like a stamper on the top of Lucy's hand.
"Lucy Heartfilia, you are now official a member of Fairy Tail." The master smiled, though many people didn't like that fact that she had just been accepted, Lucy felt wanted by someone.
She could hear the mutters of some people, spitting out harsh words. Others cheered for her, like Levy and Mira. Lucy stared at the door, hoping that Natsu would come back in.
But for the rest of the night, he wasn't seen even once. Lucy sat at the bar, she want to confront Natsu. He turned back on a promise she believed he'd keep. Walked out on her before any real danger fell upon him.
She tried to make sense of it. Over the past few days she had picked up on his personality and the choices he makes. Never would she have guessed this would happen.
After a while she decided to go to his house. It was where she was staying after all. When she made it through the front door she found a single bag packed on the living room floor. It was full of her clothes and other small things.
"This must be his way of kicking me out." Lucy muttered to herself.
She looked up and scanned the house. As far as she could see all the lights were off and nothing stirred about.
"Natsu?" She shouted.
No response.
"Natsu, if you are here, can we please talk?" She waited for a response.
Yet again, none came. Neither Natsu nor Happy was home. She let out a sigh. Grabbing the bag he had left for her, Lucy walked out of the house. Leaving him behind just as he had wished.
