Is This Me?

They all looked at him as if he were an alien.

"S . . . . Sean?" Chase was the first to repeat Anti's exclamation.

Jackie looked like he was going to pass out, "Di. . . did he just say . . dad?"

Marvin whirled around to Host, "Host, we don't have a lot of time! Something bad is happening! Just  . ." he looked around and found a pen on the floor and picked up a stray piece of paper out of a book, throwing it at Host, "Write down the spell. You said you had it memorized, right?"

"The Host agreed, realizing this was the best coarse of action before Anti completely disappeared from reality."

"I'm NEVER trusting you with anything ever again!" Dark yelled at him.

Anti held up his hands and looked through them at them all, "Am I a ghost? Can you hear me? Who are all of you? I'm scared"

"It's okay, Anti! We can hear you!" Henrik got as close to him as he could without Anti freaking out, "We'll fix this, I promise."

Jackie took out his phone and Jameson signed, asking what he was doing.

"I'm calling Sean. Anti remembered him by name so it HAS to be important"

'And why'd he call him 'dad'?' Jameson asked mainly to himself.

Anti started to cry again and suddenly Chase had an idea.

Chase flung his hat off his head and carefully came up to Anti, "Hey Anti. Why are you so sad?"

Anti was hyperventilating but seeing Chase like this reminded him of someone. His breathing started to calm and even though he was still a little transparent, seeing Chase without his hat one reminded him of someone and he started to become solid again.

"I. . . I know you" Anti sniffled.

Chase didn't like acting like Sean but he would for Anti in this instance, "Yeah, you do! It's me, bud. It's Sean!"

Anti whined and hugged Chase. He was still corporeal for now and Chase held him in his arms for as long as he could.

Meanwhile, Jackie was on the phone with the real Sean, talking with him on the other side of the room so Anti couldn't hear.

"I'm sorry, WHAT did you just say?" Sean asked on the other end.

Jackie sighed, "I SAID, Host accidentally cursed Anti, giving him some weird Amnesia that's just been getting worse and worse but NOW he's starting to FADE AWAY. He can't remember his own name or anyone else's in the room but for some reason he remembered yours and called you dad, asking for you. Got anything to say about that?"

"What the fuck?" was all Sean could say.

"What? So you got NOTHING?!" Jackie was getting impatient, "Come ON here, Sean! This is the one moment we NEED you and you have nothing to say about this?!"

"I. . I'm sorry! I . . . I don't know. . . Bring him here! Can Marvin do that? He's with you, right?"

"I'll see" Jackie turned to Marvin who was overlooking Host's writing of the spell, "Marvin, we need you to teleport us all to Sean's!"

Marvin looked like he'd explode like a water balloon, "God dammit! FINE! But he better have food and an explanation! Everyone GET OVER HERE!"

Dark blinked, "What? Even me?"

"YES, YOU TOO!" Marvin snapped at him, "THIS IS YOUR FAULT, TOO! YOU'RE A PART OF THIS, LIKE IT OR NOT!"

Dark couldn't argue with that.

Chase carefully led Anti over to the group but the glitch was having some trouble with walking, it seemed.

Marvin linked his mind through Jackie's phone on Sean's location and teleported them all into Sean's living room.

Anti started to panic at the new surroundings and burst through the group, running towards a wall, knocking on it.

"LET ME OUT! WHERE AM I!? I DON'T WANNA BE HERE!!!"

Sean hung up the phone when they arrived and just looked on at the scene, unsure what to do.

Host went back to writing down the spell again.

Chase rushed over to Sean as quickly as he could, "When I took off my hat, he thought I was you. He's a fucking mess but for some reason he remembers YOU and thinks you're his dad."

"I .  .. well" Sean shrugged, "I guess technically I am since I created all of you"

Jackie shoved Sean, "Just fucking go talk to your son then!!"

Sean was still very confused on what was happening, only getting the quick gist of it all but cautiously wandered up to Anti.

Anti was now knocking softly on the wall like it was a door, "Hello? . . . . Hello?"

"Anti?" Sean gently put a hand on his shoulder.

Anti turned around and they stared at each other. It looked like Anti was thinking hard.

Did he remember again?

" . . . . I . . . . like green"

The entire room was silent.

Sean blinked, "Uh . ..  what?"

Anti suddenly lost his footing again but Sean caught him, gently leading him to a chair to sit in.

Dark was losing it. He never meant for any of this. He just wanted to help him but look where that got him?

Dark looked down and his eyes widened, "His feet. .. they're disappearing!"

Looking down, they all realized Dark was right!

Chase paced around the room, "His whole body was turning transparent before but when he thought I was Sean, he got solid again! But now his FEET are just disappearing?! Host, are you DONE yet?!"

"The Host just finished and handed the paper to Marvin to interpret." The Host did so and Marvin snatched it from him.

Just then, Gab walked in the room, "Oh! Hi . . . everyone. . . .I didn't know we had company?"

Sean looked distraught. He didn't know WHAT to tell her.

Gab knew something was really wrong, though, "I'll go put on some tea if anyone wants it and get some snacks out"

More of Anti started to disappear, his body starting to fade crawling upwards to his knees.

Anti didn't seem to notice now, luckily enough for him.

He just stared at Sean.

". . . D. . . dad?"

Sean took his hand. He didn't know what else to do. He always knew Anti to be angry all the time and irrational. This was all knew but he was sad this moment had to come with these circumstances.

"I'm here, Anti. It's okay. Dad's here"

"Come on! Come on!" Marvin read and reread the spell, trying to figure out how to reverse it in the little time they had left.

Anti tilted his head, "It's loud around here. . . . I wanna go home"

Sean tried his best not to cry, "Where IS home, Anti?"

Anti squinted at him as the fading crawled up to his waist, "Who's Anti?"

Something else started to happen and Sean was almost mesmerized.

His right eye. . . . it started to change. . . color?

His pupil changed from green to blue and like a drop of paint spreading, the white of his eye slowly turned to green.

Sean shuddered, his whole body shaking.

The others noticed this, too, and were just as stunned.

"No way" Jackie's voice cracked, "Don't fucking tell me"

"It can't be" Chase whispered, "Can it?"

Henrik started to tear up, "I thought . . . I thought he died?"

Dark put it together, "Anti. . . . you. . . . you're. . ."

It all made sense to Marvin now. He dropped the piece of paper on the floor, "Resetting. . . . . He's changing back to his original . . form"

'He was Sam?' Jameson shakily signed, 'All this time?'

Anti's right eye was completely green now with a blue iris and he smiled at Sean, "I missed you, dad!"

Sean started to cry, "Sam . . . . Sam, it's you!? But I thought . . . I thought you were gone!"

He didn't wait for Anti to answer. He just hugged him tight as well as he could.

The fading had crawled up to his chest now.

Anti just grinned, "It's been so long! Are we gonna play a game? Can we?"

Sean still hugged him, not willing to let him go for even a moment.

Anti's arms were gone.

"Something feels . . . weird" Anti whispered but was calm as Sean pet his hair.

This was all he wanted.

He just wanted his family back.

None of them could watch as Anti's body disappeared, leaving behind just the green eyeball.

Septiceye Sam.

Dark sighed heavily, "I . . . . I didn't even know . . .. did. . . did HE know?"

No one could answer him.

Sam stayed corporeal and floated around Sean, pressing his little body against his face affectionately.

He didn't know much he knew his father was sad so he was trying his best to cheer him up.

"I don't understand" Chase's throat was hoarse, "How . . . how was Anti . . .. Sam?"

They looked to Sean, waiting for an answer only he could give.

Sean slowly turned to them, holding Sam in his hands.

Jackie clenched his fists, suddenly angry, "How . . . how did you not KNOW!?" He yelled at Sean, "How did this HAPPEN?! SAY SOMETHING, SEAN!"

"I didn't. . . . I didn't know" Sean pet Sam gently to soothe him, "I. . . it was so long ago. . . . I had forgotten. . . . . . one day he was with me and then the next . . . he was just gone. I didn't know what happened."

"The Host had a theory if anyone was willing to hear him." the Host made himself known again, "Host knew this was an emotional moment for everyone but it's not as bad as we previous thought. It seems as though, so long ago, Septiceye Sam had started to gain other matter upon himself to form a body. Does anyone know of Anti's origins?"

Dark nodded, "He told me he appeared one day. He didn't remember much, he said, but he knew he was different. He was covered in blood and electricity was sparking around him. His first memory was of the egos not particularly excited to see him."

"The first day we met Anti," Jackie remembered, "He. . . he looked frightening. He didn't speak. We were afraid. I yelled at him. . . ."

Marvin sighed, "And we attacked him . . . out of fear."

"That was his first memory of us" Chase sniffled, "No wonder he hated us so much"

'We have to bring him back!' Jameson signed, 'We can't leave things like this! Marvin, can you reverse the spell?'

Marvin picked up the piece of paper off the floor and stared at, "I  . . .. Now that we know what we know . . . yeah. Yeah, I think I can"

Sean let Sam's tail twirl around his finger, "I'm so sorry, Sam. . . . . I should have known something was happening to you. Anti, I'm sorry"

But Sam was just happy to be there, not a care in the world and most likely not even a thought in whatever little 'brain' he had.

Marvin took a deep breathe, "I think . . . this might not be so bad . . .  but I'll need help. I'm weaker from teleporting everyone twice"

"I'll help" Dark volunteered, "I'll give you whatever power you need"

The magician held out his hands, "Good. Take my hands, then. Sean, bring Sam . .Anti .. . over here, will you?"

Sean didn't move, though, "Do . . do we HAVE to change him back?" he kept Sam close in his hands, "He'll . . .he'll be gone again if we do this. . . . And Anti . .he's-"

"Sean" Jackie stopped him, "Sam changed into a person for a reason. But this time we know Anti better now and we can change the relationship we have with him"

Chase walked up to Sean and held his hand out for him to take, "Come on. I missed Sam, too, man, but you know this is the right thing to do"

Dark looked pleadingly to Sean, "Please . ..  Anti and I may not have ever put a name to our relationship . . . but he was my friend. I want my friend back"

Slowly, Sean took Chase's hand and let him lead him over to Marvin and Dark.

Sean just kept staring at Sam who curled himself up in his palm. He teared up, "I'm gonna miss you all over again, Sam."

He gently put Sam in Marvin and Dark's hands, "But they're right . . . . you wanted to be more.  .. I can't take that away from you"

Sam looked confused but happy to be held by so many familiar people. This was probably the best day of his life.

Marvin took a deep breath and started to chant the reversal spell.

"The Host knew this was all his fault and he apologized to everyone. He knew he'd have to apologize to Anti as well. . . . if he didn't kill him"

Dark glanced over at him with a sneer, "If I still don't kill you, yet"

"Something is happening!" Henrik pointed out.

A light was forming around Sam and soaked into his tiny little 'body'.

Suddenly, something like nerves and flesh started t grow quickly around him  and in a matter of seconds, a head with another eye was formed.

"Anti's being formed back again!" Jackie shook Chase's shoulder, excited. He never thought he'd ever be happy to see Anti again.

Chase had a quick thought, "Wait, so if he forms again, will he be a clean slate or will he have all his memories back again?"

Marvin was concentrating on the spell, still but answered, "It's a reversal spell, genius. What do you think? We're just reversing all the damage Host caused"

"Which means he'll be injured again!" Henrik panicked, "Sean, I need gauze, bandages, stitches and antiseptic!"

"What? Why?"

"I shot him earlier this morning" Chase provided.

"Fuck, I'd hate you guys, too"

"He was trying to hurt Henrik" Jackie muttered, "But yeah, maybe shooting him was going a little too far in hindsight"

"And threatening to kill him wasn't too far?" Jameson signed.

Anti's body was finally completely reformed  and the gunshot was back but Henrik was fast. They laid him down on Sean's couch and the doctor set to work.

When he was finished, they all waited in an anxious silence.

"He should vake up soon" Henrik pet his hair, "But the head wound is still also there again from Host's curse. It might take a bit still for him to recover"

Sean leaned over the back of the couch, watching Anti. He was still in shock knowing that Anti was really all this time.

Dark's question rang in his mind. Did Anti KNOW he had been Sam?

A few minutes later, Gab came back in the room, "I don't know what all happened but if you guys need anything, don't hesitate to ask. The kitchen is open for everyone. You all can stay as long as you like"

Sean smiled and nodded, "Yep."

"I'm staying until he wakes up at least" Dark commented, "I'm not leaving him"

The septics all nodded, as if agreeing and Host agreed as well since this was all his fault.

He would never live this down.

Finally after what seemed like hours, Anti started to move a little.

His head hurt like hell. He felt if he opened his eyes, he'd just pass out.

'What the fuck happened?'

He didn't remember much.

He finally cracked open his eyes. He heard someone say, "He's awake!"

Everything was sort of blurry but his eyes focused quickly and he recognized a bunch of people standing around him.

"Wh . . .what the?"

He was reminded of the wound in his back and grunted, holding his chest where the bullet had exited, "Fucking. . .. I hate guns"

"Anti?" Chase stood in front of him by the couch he was laying on, "Is it you? Do you . .. remember us?"

Anti just stared at him.

Now that he was awake and seeing them all, he DID remember some things.

"You shot me. . . ." he looked over at Dark, ". . . . . . you  . . . took me to Host . . . for a deal"

Dark snorted, "Biggest mistake I've ever made"

Anti suddenly locked eyes with Sean, ". . . . . . S-sean?"

It was all coming back to him, "I  . . ..did I lose my memory?"

"You did" Marvin assured him, "But don't worry, I reversed Host's curse and everything should be back to normal!"

"Why are you all . . . here? Why'd you . . . help me?" that was the main big question he had.

"How couldn't we?" Jackie sighed, "You were pretty messed up. We couldn't just .. leave you like that"

"You said the next time you saw me though, you'd kill me"

"Anti . ." Jackie took a moment to think about what to say, "I'm sorry. Everything that's happened. . . seeing you like that. . .. You're a part of the family, Anti. We couldn't just leave you to suffer like that"

That struck him.

Family?

He was. . . a part of . . .

The Family?

"Vhat else do you remember?" Henrik asked him.

"I .  . ." Anti was starting to tear up but wiped his eyes, still trying to be tough, ". . . I did a lot of stupid things. I forgot a lot of simple tasks and things. But you guys helped me. . . . . . . . Thank you"

'No problem!' Jameson signed.

Sean came forward and put his hand on his shoulder, "Do you remember anything else?"

Anti didn't. He didn't remember anything else beyond being at Dark's manor with them all, "No. . . . I don't know why we came HERE. Or what happened here. Why? What happened?"

Chase whispered to Sean, "Should we tell him? Should we ask if he knew who he was?"

"What are you whispering about?" Anti snapped at them.

Sean ultimately made the decision, "Anti.  .. about the spell. . . it was a resetting spell that changed you back to the way you were before"

Anti just stared at him, confusion brewing more and more heavy on his face, "Go on?"

"Do you remember Sam, Anti?" Marvin asked him.

"Sam?" Anti thought about it, "I had never met the little fucker but I know of it. Little gross green eyeball that was in the septic tank in all the outro videos?"

"It was you, Anti" Dark blurted, "YOU were Sam before you became Anti"

It was as if a nerve was struck in him and his head pounded, "Ow. . . . ." he looked back over to Sean, " . . . . .Sam . . .. I'M . . . .  Sam? I thought I had a dream where .. . . no . . .so . . ..  it was real?"

Sean smiled, "Yeah!. . . . You're my little Sam, Anti! You started to fade away and the resetting spell changed you back to Sam! You called me dad, beforehand, though, too."

Anti cringed, "What?! You're not my dad!"

"Hey!" Jackie warned him, "Don't you talk to your father that way!" he gave him a teasing grin.

Anti blushed but let it go, ". . . . So . . . what does this all mean? I'm not Sam anymore. I'm Anti. I don't remember what life was like as Sam. . . . It's still weird to think about. . . . I'm still the asshole Antisepticeye that-"

"The asshole Antisepticeye that can just relax because we al forgive you" Chase cut him off, "Dark told us about you wanting to be a part of the family. You were always too proud and emotionally constipated to actually talk to us."

"But maybe now we can just start over" Marvin suggested.

'It'll be great!' Jameson signed excitedly, 'You could move in with us! We could do things together all the time!'

Anti wasn't fond of that idea but he let it go.

He wanted to cry. He wanted to shut himself in a room alone and sob his heart out.

This was all he ever wanted.

He felt whole again. Complete.

Knowing he was Sam now .  . it felt right. He always had dreams of Sam but now that he knew it was him all along, it made a lot more sense. They weren't just dreams. They were memories!

Dark could see Anti wanted to cry but was keeping himself from doing so. He smiled, "Anti . . .now's not the time anymore. Stop bottling it up for once"

It was like a dam broke and Anti's tears welled over.

Sean hugged him and Anti could feel the warmth and welcomed it. He was still in pain from the gunshot but it was worth it.

He still didn't like that he had called Sean his father but that was another therapy session for a later date.

A few weeks later. . . .

It was just another normal day.

The Septic egos were hanging around here and there, gathering to spend some time with each other. It had been a while since they each had their own respective families but it was just one of those days where they could all just hang out and just be together.

Until Anti got bored again.

He burst through the TV they were watching, making them all flinch and yell.

"Dammit, Anti!" Jackie threw a pillow at him.

The glitch laughed his ass off and grabbed it, "You know you love that trick! Now come on! Do we really have to watch ANOTHER superhero movie?! That one wasn't even that good!"

"It's my turn and you know it!" Jackie cracked a smile and shook his head, "Shouldn't you be getting to Dark's soon anyway?"

Chase wrapped his arm around Anti's shoulders, "Yeah, I heard from Bing that he's got a present for you."

Anti groaned, "He already told me, he got me a journal so I can write out my. . ." he cringed with a  shiver, "feelings"

"Writing things like zhat out is good for you!" Henrik snapped at him, "He's right after all. You're very emotionally constipated"

"Hey, I've been living with you all for three weeks now and I haven't attacked any of you" Anti shrugged as if that meant something, "I'd say I'm doing pretty well"

"That's not an accomplishment to be particularly proud of" Marvin deadpanned but suddenly snorted, "If you want, you can borrow some glitter pens to write in your journal? I know how you LOVE~ shiny things"

Anti glared at him, "You promised never to bring that up again"

"I lied"

Jameson tapped on his watch, 'You better get going or you'll be late! You know how Dark is about being on time. And you have to go visit Sean tonight, too! You promised him'

Anti rolled his eyes, "If I had known being a part of the family was going to be so labor intensive, I wouldn't have even bothered"

"You know you love it" Jackie threw his words right back at him, "Get going. If you're back soon enough tonight, I promise to actually watch a scary movie with you. . . even though I hate them"

Anti smiled.

Looking at them all and not being attacked. . . . .it was nice.

His heart felt . ..  whole.

This had always been Sam's dream. . .

and now it was Anti's reality.

After all that happened, it seemed as though Host's curse was worth it after all.

The End
