Legends tell of a book with power to change the element of any yo kai that reads it. Who would make such a book no one really knows. Probably a legendary yo kai such Poofessor or King Emna himself. It was made a hundred years ago. At the time were there was it much technology or people. Yo kai lived in the yo kai world before become friends with humans. There were four clans during this time:

Hot: They're yo kai that would bring warm weather and heat waves to villages and small towns. Not that they complained about it thou an AC would been great back then. If anyone cause trouble for others they would be punished with severe heat forever. This was the main reason they were feared so much.

Ice: As winter arrives so do these yo kai. The cold weather was a time to let the villages know it was time to relax and spend time with their loved ones. Mainly inside near the warm toasted fire with some hot cocoa. Hey don't blame me if you want to be frozen but it freezing outside. Brrr! The ice yo kai are often sad that nobody would play in their wonderful snow land.

Wind: Breeze and Storms are made by these mischief makers. Thou they mean no harm they can be a pain in the rear end. Their winds provide clean air yes but can also make storms that we'll break down a house. This is why their power is mainly hated but hey it not their fault if they're overpower.

Water: Brings water and fishes for the villages. They were said to be the most praised clan for villagers would bring gifts such as fruits and some of the fish they cooked for meals. Water clan happily accepted these gifts because it was free food and not goin lie that makes anyone pretty happy.

One day a water clan member fell in love with a wind clan member. The water clan yokai was Supyo and the wind clan was Smogella. But due to law only yo kai of the same element could be together. It was like the story of Romeo and Juliet but without the dying. Supyo and Smogella decide to asked King Emna for help and he did just that. He created a book in which the two were united in power. But the book hold a curse anyone who got their element changes would become a page of the book forever.

The curse was lifted hundred years after but Supyo and Smogmella were never seen again.The book has been hidden by King Emna since that fateful day. Till a happy and cheerful ice  yo kai finds out about it.
