All I could feel was my wildly beating heart all the way back to the action. Ladybug seemed determined to take down the villainess, but on another side seemed worried about me. No matter how weird it sounded, I was worried about my own behavior as well. If I lost control again and hurt someone—worse, hurt someone I knew and loved—I would never forgive myself.
As we approached the occurring fight, I spotted two figures wildly fighting with the dark flying figure. Two girls, one dressed in orange and white, the other in yellow and black. Ladybug's words came back to me, about leaving Rena Rouge and Queen Bee to hold off the villain. They were doing well, but they weren't getting anywhere regarding freeing the akuma.
I swallowed nervously as I approached, slowing my pace slightly. Ladybug didn't seem to notice; she, on the other hand, quickened her gait and shouted to the two heroines, "Rena, Queen Bee, you know what to do!"
The girls glanced over and nodded confidently. Rena Rouge then turned and raced off, while Queen Bee spun her trompo into a glowing golden shield similar to Ladybug's yo-yo and continued to fight. Ladybug sprinted forward to join her, and I reluctantly joined her, my breathing sounding more like a strangled cat.
(Oops)
As the three of us fought routinely, a sudden patter of running footsteps sounded on the street. Queen Bee and Ladybug instantly thrust the villain, tied in both their weapons, at the approaching figure, who turned out to be Rena Rouge. However, as the akumatized person turned to face her in another fight, Ladybug turned to me and winked subtly. I nodded in understanding.
Just as the akumatized girl lunged at "Rena" in an attempt to tackle her, the illusion dispersed into a shimmer of orange and pink. Before the girl could realize that she'd been tricked, Queen Bee leaped up from behind, shouted, "Venom!" and pressed her glowing weapon onto the girl's neck. As she shrieked and froze, Ladybug yanked her off her broom and shouted, "Chat Noir, her broom! It's enchanted somehow, and I couldn't break it before. We need your Cataclysm!"
"Got it," I responded, still a bit edgy, then summoned my destructive power and grabbed the broom's handle. Immediately, it darkened and disintegrated into black dust, revealing a dark purple butterfly fluttering away in the night. Without wasting a moment, Ladybug swiped her yo-yo, caught it, purified it, and released it. A second later, the akumatized person reverted back into a teenage girl who sat dazed on the road, slowly rubbing her head in confusion. "Wh-what am I doing here?" she muttered.
Ladybug turned to me triumphantly, then raised her fist expectantly. I managed to smile back at her, then returned her fistbump. "Pound it!" we said together.
"Yeah, by the way, Chat," Rena Rouge commented, sounding puzzled, "why'd you run off like that? Ladybug had to grab Chloé and I because you were MIA."
"The name's Queen Bee, fox!" the Bee heroine snapped irritably.
I flinched at Rena's inquire. "I-I couldn't stay—" I tried lamely to stammer, starting to back away. "I . . . I have a problem . . . I was never supposed to transform . . . ?!"
". . . What do you mean, 'you were never supposed to transform'?" Queen Bee sounded bewildered, but little concerned. As expected when I was Chat Noir.
"Chat?" Ladybug suddenly asked. "You okay?"
It was only then that I realized my surroundings were slowly blurring and fading to darkness. Not again . . . I thought in terror, not now . . . ! I was so distracted and panic-stricken that I didn't register the fact that I hadn't felt so lightheaded last time I'd lost control. I continued backing away, staggering more than walking now. "I'm fine," I muttered. "Just stay aw-way from . . . from me . . ." I turned in confusion to jump up on my baton and retreat, but my vision suddenly flipped upside-down as I tried, making me stumble and collapse heavily to the road as my world went black.
SORRY FOR THE HUGE DELAY!!!!!!!!!!
