Claire, Claire was dead, her funeral was yesterday, god Claire I am so sorry.  

"Brian Dinner!" I run downstairs, trying not to look at the pictures of Claire. I sit down on the last chair, I don't even look at the family I have left. "Brian are you okay, we understand this is hard." 

"I'm fine Aunt Grace" I look at my plate, mashed potatoes, green beans, and a pork chop, gross. "May I be excused," Dad looks up at me, his face shows signs of melancholy. "Please?"  

"Sure, have fun" Dad says looking down again, god I hate it, I hate it so much, my family is going one by one. I run out side, and run down the side walk. I am still looking for clues, I run till it gets dark. Really dark. I slow down and I trip, Ow. I stand up I am in the forest. Maybe I can walk to whats her faces house, she was friends with my sister, I used to walk her here a lot. I walk until I see a house, maybe its uh Rosie's! I run to the house to find, its made of candy? What?

The door opens and a man walks out, a obese man. "Hey kid!" I look around and point to myself. "Yeah you what are you doing!" I walk to the man.

"Looking for something, sorry for bothering you." I look down upset.

"Oh its no problem, want to come in, my house got lonely after my sister died." I look up at him.

"Dude same!" I exclaim.

"Oh sorry for your loss, want some pie?" I nod, he hands me a slice and I mutter a thank you.

"So kid, you lost, or just running away?" I look up.

"Huh?" I respond.

"Last time I checked it was popular to use your phones and computers and not run through a forest."

"Well um, this forest has, a um meaning to me" I say hoping its not stupid to say.

"Same with me, this is the forest were my sister died." He says, he does't look sad that she died thought. 

"Dude my sister died in here too!"  I say, then I get sad again.

"Hey kid don't look so blue, its alright, I got over death and look at me now, I live in a house made of candy! Ain't that neat!" He smiles.

"Yeah, I guess" I turn and look at his clock. "OH MY GOD I GOTTA GET HOME, SORRY SIR THANKS FOR THE PIE, I WILL COME BACK TOMORROW!" I scream as I run out his door and run home.

I look up and see two men above me, or at least that's what I think, Its blurry.

"A-Alice, a-are you alright?" One voice asks me.

"M-my name is not Alice, its Claire, Claire Birch." I respond to the voice, everything comes clear. A rabbit and a man are above me.

"Sorry Ali- I mean Claire I must go. I am late" says the rabbit and I scream. "What's wrong Claire!"

"Rabbits don't talk, rabbits don't TALK" I try to run away, but I cannot I am trapped by... cards? "What is this place?" 

"You're in wonderland darling!" The rabbit and man look at each other. "Would you like to meet the Queen?" I nod, lightly. Following the rabbit. Oh boy what have I gotten myself into.

"INTRODUCING, THE QUEEN OF DIAMONDS!" A card yells.

"The Queen of Diamond's killed our former queen, the queen of hearts, we don't know her real name though, she has been in charge for many years" The rabbit says. The girl walks down the castle steps, her hair is blonde and her eyes are blue, her skin is as white as paper. 

"Who is this!" She screeched.

"Queen this is Ali- I mean Claire!" The rabbit responds, The Queen turns and looks at me, her eyes filled with hatred.

"Claire, are you here, on purpose?" Asks the queen, one of her brown eyebrows raised.

"No, um, well, a girl dragged me here, then she turned into a cat." I respond as quick as possible. The queen turns to one of the cards.

"Bring me Chase, and make it quick!" The woman turns to me and says, "You may stay with me for the night but tomorrow, you must leave!" I nod and she takes me into the castle.
