Golden Dust and No Answers
Hera tumbled down the grassy slope, wailing and clutching her head. I looked down and winced, letting go of the spade. I can't believe I just hit Hera with a spade! Wow. It felt good. Hera stood up, glaring at me. She marched back up towards me, she was beginning to glow. "Oh Gods," I muttered and held up my fists in a fighting stance seeing as she threw my only weapon away.
"Stupid girl!" she hissed, "I am only trying to help!" She tapped my forehead and my vision went blurry and everything started to spin. I sat down and it stopped.
"Help with what? Also, what spell were you talking about?" I yelled angrily. Hera looked around nervously before sitting next to me like we were old friends.
"Percy Jackson is dying." She said. My eyes widened in shock and disbelief. I felt woozy and this time it wasn't her freaky voodoo.
"What?"
"Yes. Even we don't know of what but we do now this. Only you can save him Annabeth Chase but you must take haste because there is a catch."
"What is it?" I asked frantically, my anger towards the Goddess forgotten. "Tell me now, Cow Queen!"
Hera scowled but let the name slide. "With every passing minute that you are not by his side he grows worse."
I leapt up, my hair flying behind me. "Then I must go to him! Take me back!"
Hera shook her head and placed her hands on my shoulders. "Child, if you go to him now you will ease his pain but he will die. If you find a cure, he has a chance."
I squared my shoulders, willing myself not to cry. "What do I have to do?"
"Follow your heart. It will lead you to the cure but you only have five days before it becomes too late...
And Percy Jackson will die."
With that, Hera exploded into golden dust and it shimmered around me like confetti. The Goddess was gone and I had too many questions with no answers but I picked up my dagger and began to run because the love of my life's life was on the line and I knew what I had to do.
