Chapter 6: Desires
cw: masterbation

Your bedroom was painted in a misty peach upon the advent of daybreak. Levi woke as he always did around this time, when the sun was making its very first rounds. Except, this particular morning was different.
He'd woken up with your head on his chest and your arm sprawled out across him. You were fast asleep, your little tired sighs were like music to his ears.
His lower body felt stiff that morning, cold with tension. Levi hoped it wasn't what he thought it was but there was no mistaking that feeling.
He was hard...
Levi lifted the blanket for a moment to see if his suspicions were correct and to no surprise, they were. The hump at the crotch of his pants said it all.
Fuck... He thought to himself. He hadn't woken up like this since he was a teenager.
Levi started to remember what'd happened last night. That kiss, the way you tasted, how good it felt to hold you... And well, the dream he had about you...
It was a particularly vulgar one, thus the morning boner he was subjected to.
He'd dreamt about your body and how he imagined you looked without that night gown. Your warmth, your lips, your voice. He was flooded with every sensation. And at the peak of it all, he'd dreamt about fucking you.
It was difficult for him not to feel ashamed of himself for desecrating your image in his mind. The way you slept so innocently beside him only fueled that guilt.
He felt like a filthy bastard. His boner was still very present and wouldn't subside as long as he did nothing to relieve it. He decided to get out of bed and head off to the shower. Maybe that would help.
His body felt weak in every way possible, physically weak and "weak" to the urge of lust. Of course this was a normal phenomenon but Levi was a harsh critic of himself.
The hot water helped to relax his muscles just a bit. Although the alone time surely didn't aid his rampant thoughts about you. He leaned a hand against the shower wall and let the water run down his back. The warmth coupled with the memories of your lips made his cock piston upwards.
Levi swallowed his pride and gave in... Giving it a few strokes with his free hand. He gritted his teeth and fought through the guilt of masterbating to a girl he'd only known for a few days. His breath grew sloppy as he attempted to keep his moans down.
He thought about what it would be like to feel you, to be inside of you. His mind desperately clung onto the fading memories of his wet dream. Levi felt himself getting close after a while, writhing in pleasure and eventually hitting his orgasm. He let out a muffled grunt and pumped the last few strings of cum from his cock before letting it all wash away into the drain. If only the guilt could wash away as well. He felt so disgusting, the ecstasy left as quick as it arose.
Levi started to critique himself, heavily. He thought about what you would think of him if you'd known he'd just jerked off to you. He imagined your disgust, your detestment of him.
In reality, outside of his little bubble of self examination, you most likely wouldn't even care. Because that night... you even had a similar dream.

You woke up alone in bed and wondered where Levi had gone. That's when you began to hear footsteps heading towards the bedroom. The door opened.
"Oh uh sorry, I just came in here to grab my shirt. My squad left already by the way." Levi said, hair wet as he smelt nice and fresh. You forced yourself not to stare too much. Water trickled down the grooves of his abs as a towel hung around his neck. All he wore was a pair of pants. You thought about how nice it would feel to kiss him right then and there.
You gulped and hopped out of bed, "I should probably clean myself up as well."
Anyone with eyes and a lick of common sense could tell that there was a daunting elephant in the room between you two. Neither of you wanted to bring up the kiss and on top of it, you'd both had intimate dreams about the other.
You two were acting like nervous, horny adolescents which upon some introspection, made you giggle in the shower.
You finished washing up and got dressed for the day. You had to go into town and bring your harvest to the merchants who would handle the selling. All you honestly wanted was your pay. Every time you went into town, it made you miss the peace and quiet of your cottage. The old ladies would always hound you with questions about your love life.
Things like, "When are you finally gonna get yourself married Y/n! You're always alone."
"Get a husband before your looks fade."
"A woman can't manage a farm on her own!"
Just superficial, outdated statements that honestly irked you but you forced yourself to grin and bear it for the sake of respect.
You tied your hair back in the vanity and entered the main area only to see Levi cleaning the kitchen table. You halted.
"Those brats left a mess on your table this morning. I apologize for them. They need to learn some manners." He said, squeezing out a wet cloth.
You simply giggled to yourself, "It's alright, honestly. They must've been hungry."
"They need to pick up after themselves." He sighed and plucked a jelly stained napkin off the floor. "Filthy kids."
"You're a clean freak I'm assuming."
He scoffed awkwardly, "... Maybe a little. Are you going out?"
"Yeah, I have to bring my harvest into town. I hope to make it quick. Let's just say the townies aren't the most pleasant individuals to be around." You said, headed for the front door.
"You need some company?"
You paused, "Are you suggesting yourself, captain?"
"I guess so."
"Are you sure it's a good idea for you to be walking around that much?"
"It's a better idea than letting you go alone..."
He wasn't exactly jumping for joy about this since the awkwardness between the two of you from kissing and well his shower activities, was still very present. However, that protective part of him didn't want to let you go solo. He also was afraid of the slim chance that the authorities would take you in. Even battered and bruised, he couldn't escape his own vigilant instincts.
"Fine, but at least use a walking stick." You responded, going off to your room to grab a cane.
You came back to the kitchen with the slim wood in hand.
"When did you ever get that?"
"I injured myself a year ago. Slipped in the rain and landed badly on my ankle. It's all healed though, wasn't a bad injury." You pointed the cane at him, "But you on the other hand, you're crippled."
"Thanks for the reminder." He said sarcastically.
"You're always welcome." You tossed the cane his way, "Catch!"
Levi wasn't exactly expecting that but his quick reflexes came in handy. He caught it before getting a feel for the wood and situating it to his comfort.
"See, it suits you."
"I feel like an old man."
"At least you don't look like one. Thank that young face of yours." You put your hands on your hips, "Now, are you ready?"
Levi, stiff as a board—forced himself not to crack a smile at you and settled for a dull nod instead.
He helped you load up the carriage with barrels of produce, much to your protest of course. You didn't want him to stress his body. The two of you rode into town with Levi sitting in the back while you commanded the horse.
You idly chatted with one another and somehow beat around the topic of your late night make out session. It was like you guys were waiting for the other to bring it up, which just didn't happen.
Your arrival into town presented a harsh contrast from the countryside. Rows of buildings with merchants docked out in front. Street cars and carriages much like your own clogged the open road.
You made your way down to the local market that sold your goods. It was a large outdoor plaza that sat in the heart of town. You anchored the horse in your usual spot in the back behind the shops and hopped off.
"Busy today." He muttered, standing beside you.
"Tell me about it. Sunday mornings here get so chaoti-."
You were dutifully interrupted by an older woman. She marched up to you and gave your body a hearty embrace. "Y/n! Aw sweetheart what a gorgeous harvest. This town doesn't owe you enough for all you've done for us."
You waved your hand, "It's okay, no worries Mrs. Lacey. Looks like the market is filled today."
"Sure is, food has been scarce. Everything's flying off the stands. People are worried about whether a battle will hit us and wreak havoc."
"I pray this war subsides." You exhaled.
The woman pulled a cigarette from her pocket and popped it in her mouth. She eyed you and Levi for a moment before smirking, "Oh! Is this your-... Are you two together?" She pointed.
Levi and you glanced at each other.
"No-." You both said in unison.
Mrs. Lacey looked at the two of you with curiosity, "Ahh Y/n I was excited, I thought you were finally settling down."
She moved over to Levi and lightly nudged him with her elbow before muttering, "Hey, I know she likes to play hard to get but she'll come around."
Levi just looked at the woman with furrowed brows as her cigarette smoke drifted over his face in an unpleasant cloud.
"Oi, Mrs. Lacey cut it out!" You cried.
"What? I'm doing you a favor honey."
"I'm not an object you can just auction off." You pouted, folding your arms.
"You'll thank me one day when I find you a husband." She laughed and rubbed the top of your head, making a mess of your hair.
"Ah! Mrs. Lacey, my hair! You're gonna make me look like I just rolled out of bed." You exclaimed through giggles.
Levi gazed fondly on the two of you before he realized what he was doing. He quickly drew back to a neutral expression just as you looked up.
"I didn't get your name by the way, sir." She said.
He debated on whether or not it was a good idea to give out his real name but he eventually caved in.
"It's Levi."
"Nice to meet you Levi. How'd you and this little brat right here meet?" An awkward pause stood between the three of you. Levi glanced at you then back at the inquisitive woman. He parted his lips and was about to just make something up before you quickly stepped in, "Okayyy enough chit chat I wanna hurry this up already. I'm just here to get my pay and leave."
Mrs. Lacey sighed, "Such a pushy girl. Alright fine then, let's get this over with. I'll have the guys carry this stuff in, wait here. And then, I'll talk to your boyfriend later."
"He's not my boyfr-. Ugh whatever you're hopeless." You said, realizing she probably wouldn't stop teasing you regardless.
Mrs. Lacey disappeared into the shop.
"You two are a lot alike." Levi chuckled, leaning his back against the carriage.
"Eh? Me and Mrs. Lacey? Levi I thought you were on my side here." You whined.
"You love messing with me, she loves messing with you. Now I know where you get it from."
"That observance of yours is a real pain."
"If you don't mind me asking, is she your relative?"
"Not quite, she's a family friend. She's known me since I was in diapers. As much as she drives me crazy, it's nice having someone around who can look out for you." You smiled to yourself. "That's why she's so adamant about me getting married. She knows she can't watch over me forever. She wants me to find a man who can. But she doesn't know that I can take care of myself pretty well."
"I know you can..." Levi said kindly.
You looked up at him, wide eyed. His face was still in its familiar apathetic expression, but his eyes had softened.
The two of you gazed at each other for a fleeting moment before Mrs. Lacey came back with her two grown sons.
"My apologies Y/n, my husband has your money and he isn't home yet. You'll just have to wait." She pleaded.
"It's fine."
"You guys can wait inside! I'll make tea, and we can finish up our chat. Huh? Sound good?"
You shook your head, any more inquiry about Levi might end up with one of you in jail. "Uhhh no thanks, we'll just go shopping in the market instead. I need to buy some more seeds."
"Am I embarrassing you." The woman giggled.
Your face turned bright red.
Her sons began carrying the barrels of crops into the shop as you and Levi headed back into the main market out front. The two of you joined the crowd of shoppers and attempted to blend in.
People bumped against your shoulders, unforgivingly.
Levi looked ahead and noticed that there were authorities in the mix as well. Three military police officers roamed the plaza, putting up psa signs all around. It read "The Island Devils have been seen roaming around Marley. Reward for capture is 10,000."
The two of you looked at the sign tapered to one of the lamp posts and eyed the police. Your heart started to beat and you looked up at Levi warily.
He kept calm, and remained aware of how close the cops were to you guys. He grabbed your hand and intertwined his fingers. You flinched at first to his sudden touch.
"Why are you-."
"There's a lot of couples here, we'll blend in this way."
"So you want us to act like a couple?"
"It's not like we haven't kissed already Y/n." He said bluntly. You didn't even know how to reply to that, your cheeks had turned red hot.
"Oh... we're finally talking about that." You muttered.
Levi cleared his throat in a clumsy effort to try and hide his nerves around this situation. "We don't really have to go into detail about it."
You squeezed his hand and smirked, "Are you nervous, captain?"
He cocked up an eyebrow, "Nervous about?"
"About the thought of discussing last night."
"You think right now's a good time? We should focus on the cops around us."
"I guess you're right, well in that case, we should up our little relationship act." You chuckled.
"The hell are you suggesting y/n? Is this another one of your little games?" The man honestly had no idea what that mind of yours was thinking... ever.
"Nope." You grinned and moved your head in close to give him a peck on the cheek. Levi's body tightened. You could feel it in the way his hand winced ever so slightly upon the touch of your lips.
Your face had grown red hot, for some reason, you were blushing more than him. As soon as you'd pecked his skin, you were reminded of how good it felt when you'd made out. The memories came flooding back.
You grew very... very quiet.
Levi didn't really know how to react. He wasn't used to affection, especially in public. Although you used the excuse that this was part of the relationship facade to blend in... his heart was still beating a mile a minute. He thought there must've been something physically wrong with him.
Why the hell is my heart beating like this? Am I sick? He thought to himself.
Levi spoke bluntly in a deadpan voice, "Hey, could you do that again?"
You raised your brows in surprise, "Are you serious?"
"Do I look like I'm joking?"
Levi genuinely wanted to see if the palpitations in his heart were being caused by you or some problem in his body. Any sensible man would've been able to discern the difference but Levi was too bullheaded for his own good. This was the same way he'd felt last night. He was convinced there was something wrong with him.
The poor guy just didn't understand the effects of romantic affection. He was still dealing with the shame of jerking off to you. He hoped the pulsing in his heart was at least something else...
You took a deep breath and moved your face in, prepared to meet his strange request. However, you skipped past his cheek and went straight for his lips. His breath hitched.
Levi allowed this sudden closeness from you. With noses bumped against one another, he slowly replied to your mouth by letting his own lips take the lead and kiss you back—contrary to the protests in his mind.
When you pulled away, he realized just how much his heart was beating and knew that it wasn't from some 'sickness'... it was you making him feel this way. He didn't know if that was the answer he'd wanted.
You gazed into each other's eyes, hands intertwined and from the looks of it, you two appeared very much like a couple.
That's when Mrs. Lacey cut in. She was back with your money and stood before the two of you with a cheeky grin.
"Oh... Am I interrupting something?" She laughed.
You turned to look in her direction and wanted nothing more than to be swallowed by the earth. Your cheeks flared up in red.
Levi took a step away and scratched the back of his neck in embarrassment. She eyed the two of you.
"I have your money kid." She said, pointing to the envelope in her hand.
"Wow, such perfect timing." You replied as Mrs. Lacey handed you your pay.
"I guess I'll see you for the next harvest in a few weeks, Y/n."
"Mhm, yeah... Um, well we're gonna get going now."
"Hold on, It was nice meeting you... Levi."
He nodded and muttered a simple, "You too Miss."
"Take good care of her by the way." She winked.
