Epilogue
The soft hum of conversation and clinking glasses filled the air as the four of them sat at a cozy little restaurant, the kind with fairy lights strung across the ceiling and a menu full of overpriced desserts. The plan was simple: a casual dinner with friends.
But somehow, it had definitely turned into a double date.
Ivanna knew it. Jimin knew it. Jungkook definitely knew it. The only person in denial? Alice.
"I still don't see why you're all acting weird," Alice muttered, stabbing her fork into her pasta with unnecessary force. "It's just dinner."
Jimin smirked, sipping on his wine leisurely. "Sure it is."
"Just like how you and Ivanna 'accidentally' ended up holding hands the whole way here?" Jungkook shot back, eyebrow raised as he twirled his fork between his fingers.
Ivanna coughed, her cheeks heating up, turning a shade as red as her dress. She had been caught red-handed-quite literally-intertwining fingers with Jimin throughout the time they were at the restaurant. Not that she minded. In fact, she kind of loved it.
Alice, however, scoffed. "That's different. They are dating."
Jimin leaned forward, resting his chin on his palms and offering puppy eyes to the redhead. "And what about you two? Enlighten me."
"What about us?"
The redhead spoke almost too fast, making Jimin chuckle. Jungkook, who had been mostly quiet until now, let out a soft chuckle and reached for his drink.
"Nothing, baby."
Alice nearly choked on her pasta. Ivanna's eyes widened, before turning to the redhead's with her eyebrows raised. Oh. He went there.
Jimin whistled lowly, thoroughly enjoying the way Alice's face turned a shade of red that rivaled her hair. A knowing smirk formed on his handsome face as he wrapped his teeth around the pasta, suddenly interested in making eye contact with Ivanna. Satisfied with how the brunette's pupils dilated, he addressed Jungkook again.
"Oh? What was that, Jungkookie? I couldn't quite hear you."
"Yeah, what was that?" Alice snapped, glaring at him.
Jungkook simply grinned, entirely unbothered. "Nothing at all."
Alice huffed, crossing her arms, while Ivanna shot Jimin a knowing look. This was definitely going somewhere, and Jimin seemed to enjoy every second of the unfolding drama.
As the night carried on, laughter filled the space between them. The tension faded into something lighter, something comfortable, comfortable enough for Ivanna to not cut the air with a butter knife every two minutes and then grin at her best friend who shot her a glare each time.
And while Alice kept insisting this was not a date, Jungkook's small, knowing smiles and sneaky glances told a different story. Maybe love really did have a funny way of sneaking up on people.
And somewhere, watching over them, a certain mischievous Cupid chuckles to himself, twirling his arrow between his fingers.
"Ah, lovebirds in denial. My favorite." He sighs dramatically before aiming his bow in their direction. "Looks like I have found my next target, beloved people! Get ready, Alice and Jungkook. You won't know what hit you."
