Chapter Six
Nervous but excited, Ivanna found Jimin waiting outside the cafe after work. His blonde hair looking tousled from what she assumed was cause of him running his hand through it several times. He kept his hands shoved into the pants of his dress pants while he hummed a song to himself. As soon as his brown irises met hers, a wide smile formed on their faces. Hugging her arms to herself, Ivanna walked over to Jimin, him simultaneously making his way towards her.
Jimin's eyes took in Ivanna form—dressed in blue mom-jeans and a crop pink cardigan, her brown hair falling lazily over her shoulders. Jimin noticed she didn't have her hair in the usual ponytail while working at the cafe.
"Ah, and I'm not giving it back!" she stated. At Jimin's confused expression, she sighed dramatically, shaking her head. "Your heart, I mean, you dumbass."
At that, Jimin burst into laughter, doubling over and holding his stomach. He stood up straighter, composing himself. Then with a huge grin, he said, "I'm glad to hear that, sweetheart." Pressing his lips on her forehead, he whispered, "I don't want it back either. It's yours."
Ivanna blushed, her cheeks turning rosier and Jimin cradles her face in his palms. His gaze softening, he asked, "Should we take a stroll around?"
"It's not a date, is it?"
"Not at all! Yeah, yeah right."
Jimin nodded to himself, as if convincing the both of them. It was safe to say, they both knew it was one, but it wasn't fun if it was obvious, was it?
Holding out her hand, Ivanna raised her eyes for Jimin to take it. Intertwining their fingers, Jimin guided them through the late evening on the streets. More couples surrounded them, all of them grinning ear to ear and messing around with each other. Ivanna's gaze softened as she took in the sight of the glowing heart-shaped lights hanging over the street.
"Are you hungry, sweetheart?" Jimin asked, motioning to a corn dog stand nearby, and that had Ivanna's stomach growling. She nodded fast enough to give herself a whiplash, the blonde giggling at that.
"Which one are you having?" Ivanna asked, eyeing the huge menu fixed on the side of the food truck. Jimin shrugged.
"I'll take whatever you're having."
"Hmm. Two cheese corn dogs, please!"
Ivanna smiled, giving the order to an older lady. One thing she had learnt from working in the cafe was that smiling while giving the order always seemed to make the other person happy. She felt the same when any of her customers did the same for her.
The lady handed them the snack, her smiling sweetly at them before saying, "Aww, you two look so cute together! Such an adorable couple ahh!"
And that had Jimin blushing harder than a high-schooler, Ivanna opting to tease him for it while blowing air on her corn dog.
"Aww is Jiminie shy?" she cooed, making Jimin huff and roll his eyes. Though the red of his cheeks said otherwise.
"I'm-I'm not shy! I was... I was just surprised, that's all!"
"Whatever helps you sleep at night."
Ivanna shrugged, taking a bite of her corn dog and almost moaning at the explosion of cheese. "Oh my Lord. Can I marry this thing? God, this is so good."
The blonde eyed her, clearly fascinated. "You love cheese a lot, don't you?"
"I do. I practically live for anything cheese or chocolate. And this," she motioned to the corn dog, "is fried too. The best. Combination. Ever."
"Fair enough."

"But Jimin, hear me out. I genuinely hadn't written that note."
"Yeah, whatever you say."
Jimin shrugged, clearly not interested in Ivanna's explanation for the note that Alice had written. Even though Jimin knew Ivanna was saying the truth—he could easily her handwriting now—but it was way too much for teasing her about it.
"You know what? Fuck you. I'm not explaining anymore." Ivanna huffed, crossing her arms and pouting.
"Oh my God! When? Please when?"
Jimin shot out, giving her puppy eyes and batting his eyelashes. Ivanna sighed loudly, shaking her head. The blonde decided to mess with her even more.
"I don't always get handwritten love notes, you know? Well... unless you count fan letters." At Ivanna's eye roll, Jimin bit his lip, fighting a grin. "But yours are way cuter, sweetheart."
"Yeah, I know I'm cute. Thanks."
A chuckle left Jimin's lips, before he stopped walking. Turning to face her, his puppy-like eyes turned more serious. He held both of Ivanna's hands, holding them in front of him.
"Ivanna... No more mystery notes, no more playful flirting—just tell me if you like me."
His voice sounded hopeful, and slightly scared. She could practically hear his heart thrumming against his chest. Ivanna took in the man in front of her-his blonde hair shone bright under the night sky, reflecting the streetlights. His brown irises stared into hers patiently, but she could feel him tapping his foot on the ground in anticipation. Even though she knew him for a short amount of time, Ivanna felt like she knew him forever. It almost felt destined. She smiled to herself, the answer clear in her head.
"Yes, I do."
Jimin beamed, rushing to press a kiss over her forehead. Going again, and again, and again. When satisfied, he pressed his forehead against Ivanna's, sighing in content before finally replying.
"Good. Because I definitely like you too, my Valentine."
And then he closed the distance between them and pressed his lips on hers.

The next morning, Ivanna found one last note at work. A knowing smile forms on her lips at the familiar handwriting and the classic way the 'N' was written.
It was from Jimin.
'First date? Successful! Second date? You tell me ❤︎'
"Aha! You see?" The Cupid says, still in his over-the-top voice. Some things never change, do they? "Even a so-called mix-up can lead to something quite... magical. A little nudge here, a stray note there, and wouldn't you know it? Love always finds its way! Now, if you'll excuse me, I have more hearts to meddle with- er, I mean, match! Until next time!"
