Wasn't life amazing?

Yeah, right.

Earl walked into his cousin's butcher shop and went to the counter. He still could not understand why Leigh was not calling him or receiving his calls Sure, maybe she could have been chomped up when she fell into a pit full of alligators or scratched to death by her own fingernails. But that did not give her an excuse to run away from Cupid Helpline. He thought it was something that they two had shared together.

It was only then when he realised that he was gripping so hard onto the table of the counter till he made scratch marks. He quickly let go of the table and wiped his sweaty hands on his jacket. Taking in a huge breath, he pressed the button for the bell on the table. His cousin then came out, holding a gigantic knife with dried blood on it.

"Hey, Earl!" His cousin greeted cheerfully.

Earl never quite got how  his cousin could be so positive when he was a butcher. "Hey, Chamo."

"So, why are you here?" Chamo asked, tossing the knife from hand to hand.

Earl took a step back and said, "Chamo, put that thing down, please."

Chamo rolled his eyes and replied, "I have been handling knives for three years. Calm down." At that point, he accidentally threw the knife into a sink behind him. "I meant to do that!"

Earl rolled his eyes but he quickly lit up when he heard the ring of a phone. He whipped his phone out of his pocket but found it noiseless. It turned out that the ringing was coming from Chamo's phone. Chamo grudgingly picked it up and answered.

"Hello. Welcome to Chamo's Butchery Place. What would you like to order?" he asked monotonously. Earl waited impatiently at the counter. "Sorry but I think you got the wrong number. No Earl Grey here." 

Earl shouted, Wait!" but Chamo already hung up. "Who was that?" Earl questioned breathlessly. What if...

Chamo shrugged and said, "Just some old lady thinking we were that tea shop downtown." With that, Chamo walked away, leaving Earl seething. Where the fuck was Leigh?
