(You're King Dice's cousin and you work at the casino. Because plot reasons XD)
Third Person POV
"Darling, are you sure you can handle working here without me for a day?" King Dice asked his cousin. They were visiting him on Inkwell Isle for a year or two, so they've been earning their keep by working around the casino, but King Dice has always been there in case something serious had happened. However, ever since the cup brothers made the bet with the Devil, King Dice has to make sure the two were collecting all the contracts and not trying to trick them.
"You worry too much, I'll be fine! Business has been slow since the Ghost Train blocked the tracks, I can handle it," they insisted, shoving King Dice out the door.
"Alright alright, I'm leaving. Call me if something happens and you need my help, alright? Remember, don't bother the boss if he's in the middle of a bet, and kick out anyone who's trying to cheat us, okay?" he reminded, fixing his coat.
"Yeah yeah yeah, newbie stuff, just go ya dork!" they insisted, hugging him and waving goodbye as they closed the door behind him. Sighing to themselves, they spun around and got started on their work for the day. They passed out drinks to the alcoholics at the bar, cleaned up some tables the patrons messed up, double then triple checked the games to make sure they were still set up properly(By that I mean they're rigged), and finally got started on cleaning the casino as nightfall started to set and the other employees started to go home. With a sigh of relief, they put the broom back in the supply closet and sat down on a swivel chair near the bar.
"Another day another dollar," they chuckled to themselves, fixing a pesky button on their shirt that always seemed to get undone. They heard someone clear their throat and they looked up, smiling at the figure in front of them.
"Heya boss! Just finished closing up, what can I getcha?" they asked, standing up and walking behind the bar. This was as commonplace as their average chores they had done around the casino. Every night for a good month now the Devil has left his office and asked them for a drink, as well as made some small talk, mostly funny stories about stupid customers throughout the day.
"Sunset rum today. Work was stressful," the Devil answered, taking a seat and resting his face on one of his hands (Fun fact, according to google, Sunset Rum is 84.5% alcohol). True, the deal with the cup brothers was certainly interesting, but the rest of the day was filled with smart asses who were too intelligent for their own good. Lucky for him, they still slipped up.
"Hmmm, yeah, I saw the games you were playing. They seemed tough, but I knew you would win in the end boss," they commented, smiling, grabbing a bottle of Sunset Rum and pouring it into a glass. The Devil smiled slightly. They were always optimistic about this place, about their cousin, and about him and his games, despite the fact he is literally Satan himself. It was honestly quite refreshing. They set the glass full of Sunset Rum in front of him and got to work on cleaning the counter.
"Hmmm, have you ever had a day off since you've arrived?" he asked, taking a sip of the alcohol.
"Only on the days when the Casino's been closed sir, no other times really," they answered honestly. The Devil tsked and shook his head.
"That won't do at all. Tell you what, I'll treat ya to a day out in two days time, once this business with those two boys are over," he offered, smiling slightly. They looked up quickly, their eyes wide in surprise and happiness.
"Really?! Thank you so much sir!" they thanked him, smiling brightly.
"Lucifer," The Devil corrected. The young dice in front of him blinked in confusion.
"Lucifer is my real name. I'd like it if you called me as such," He explained, taking another sip of his drink.
"Oh! Okay then Lucifer, I look forward to it!" they responded, their bright and contagious smile returning. Lucifer smiled and pat them on the head before standing up with his drink.
"Alright, you finish up here and get some rest. I'll see you in the morning," he stated, walking back to him office.
He had never wanted a deal to end faster than he did right then.
