                                                           Third Person POV

It was a late night for the young neko who was trying to sleep. Today was exhausting for them, and the amount of work that was increased on them was extremely overwhelming to the point where they almost collapsed into a puddle of tears. Needless to say, their boss was awful, forcing them into social interactions when she knows full well that they are terrified of interacting with new people, with the exception of children with smiles on their faces. Not exactly the best idea to have a chef with social anxiety filling in as a waiter when the star employee calls in sick. Needless to say, they were ready for sleep. Or at least, they WERE until a loud noise from the building next to them jolted them awake. It sounded as if it was coming from the building to the right of their apartment, HoneyBottoms Inc. HoneyBottoms always had her employees home by now, there was no reason for there to be so much noise at the establishment this late. Slightly irritated, the young neko stood up and walked out the door to confront Miss HoneyBottoms about the noise. However, before they could step in front of the building, they saw two boys walking out of the large building, a piece of parchment in one of their hands.

"One more boss down, six to go! Woo!" the one in red cheered, pumping his arms into the air. The one in blue rolled his eyes and chuckled, smiling.

"You're a dork bro. Come on, it's getting late and we've been doing nothing but fighting bosses all day. We're on a good headstart and we have till midnight tomorrow, so it'd be best if we checked in to a hotel and get some shut eye," the blue one stated, putting the piece of parchment in a small back filled to the brim with other parchments. The one in red nodded and spun around, only to freeze in place at the sight of the neko standing a couple feet away from them, in their pajamas and hugging their pillow. The neko froze on the spot, their brain quickly freezing up their body to keep them from moving. The one in red smiled warmly and waved at them.

"Hi there! How are you?" he asked sweetly. His smile helped with their nervousness, and their tail started to sway a bit in content.

"T-Tired... D-Did you t-t-talk to Miss H-HoneyBottoms a-a-about the n-noise?" they asked nervously, their stutter better than usual, but still somewhat bad. Both the boys faces paled, but the one in red was quick to answer.

"Y-Yeah! It was our fault, don't worry, it was all worked out!" he reassured them, some color returning to his face. The neko nodded and pointed to the apartment they were staying in.

"T-The r-r-r-room n-next to m-mine i-is o-open i-i-if you w-w-w-want a place t-t-to s-sleep tonight," they offered, nuzzling close to their pillow. The boys eyes lit up and they smile, nodding in agreement. The neko smiled and lead the two boys to the front desk of the complex, helping them get a one day stay in the apartment next to them. They walked the twins to their room, learning that their names were Cuphead and Mugman on the way. Before the neko went back into their room to get some sleep, they turned to the two boys and smiled.

"F-Feel f-f-f-f-free to k-k-knock on m-m-m-my d-d-d-door if y-y-y-you need m-m-m-me," they stated, smiling and blushing lightly. Cuphead beamed brightly and nodded, hugging them.

"Thanks for the help! We owe you one!" he stated, giggling and blushing lightly. The neko froze up and quickly weasled out of the hug.

"S-Sorry, I-I-I don't l-l-l-like touching..." they stated, hiding their face in their pillow.

"No no, it's fine! I should have asked, my bad," Cuphead responded, blushing lightly.

"Well, we'll see ya later! Come on doofus," Mugman said, grabbing Cuphead by his handle and pulling him into the apartment. The neko's blush slowly cooled down as they walked back into their apartment, crawling into their bed.

They couldn't stop thinking of the young boy who gave them their first ever genuine hug.
