Cagney Carnation X Sick!Reader

Reader POV
I chuckled softly, resulting in a minor coughing fit as I watched the video on my laptop. I was watching Specie's Boyfriend video and when she said "ass-hole syndrome" I couldn't help but laugh. I've been sick in bed for a couple days now, and I feel really bad about it. I had to stay at home, and my roommate is the only one who knows I'm sick. Speaking of my roommate, I heard a faint knock on my bedroom door. My door was slowly opened and my roommate, Hilda Berg, popped her head into the room. Hilda's been my roommate for months now, and she's such a mom to me when I get sick or hurt.
"You have a visitor. Should I turn him away politely or rudely?" She asked politely, smiling softly. I rolled my eyes, sighing as I shook my head.
"Who is it?" I asked, my voice sounding like I swallowed 15 cheese graters.
"Cagney. He's going batshit outside the door right now," Hilda answered, opening my door all the way now. I blushed light and smiled a bit. Cagney's been my best friend for a while now, and he's definitely the type who would throw a loud, high pitched hissy fit if I suddenly disappeared without a trace.
"Let him in. He should know," I answered, struggling to sit upright. Hilda blinked a couple times in conflicted shock before hesitantly walking away from the doorway to let Cagney inside. Cagney and I have been friends ever since he started letting his guard down after the Soul Contracts situation was taken care of, making it so that he didn't have to be suspicious of everyone on the Isle now. He's a pretty sweet guy, as long as you don't piss him off or get on his bad side. I heard some shuffling from the front room before I saw Cagney's head peak around my door frame, a gentle smile on his face.
"There you are. You feeling any better?" He asked sweetly as Hilda carried his pot into the room. Oh yeah, fun fact, Cagney can move pretty well on grassy areas, but he has a pot he keeps with him when he needs to go on non-natural terrain.
"Feel like literal hell, but it's bearable now," I answered before going into a coughing fit. Cagney's face softened as Hilda set him next to my bed and walked out of the room. I didn't notice it earlier, but it looked like their was a tear in her skirt. Seems like she and Cagney got a tad bit violent when she tried to shoo him out originally.
"Sorry for making you worry," I apologized once my fit was over, blushing both from my fever and from sheepish embarrassment. He smiled at me and shook his head.
"Nah, don't worry, I'm just glad you're alright. Hilda made it seem like you were kidnapped or something," he explained, chuckling to himself. I made a sour face and took a mental note to tell Hilda to stop overreacting when I get a small injury or a cold. Cagney smiled softly at me, placing his hand on my forehead before jerking it back.
"Mother of fucking trees you are burning up!" He shouted, clearly taken aback by my fever. I don't blame him, I mean, I would be shocked too if I felt someone's forehead who had a hundred and six degree fever.
"What the hell is Hilda doing I swear!" He shouted, his anger and irritation clearly growing.
"My ice melted and she hasn't had the time to get another ice pack, so she's waiting for the one we have to freeze up again," I explained. Cagney was always one to get fed up over the littlest things that had simple explanations, but to be honest, it's kinda fun to watch. Cagney sighed and shook his head as he calmed down.
"Alright alright alright alright, is it okay if I stay here till Hilda kicks me out?" He asked, his face softening again. I smiled weakly and nodded, laying back on my pillow. He kept me company till sundown, when Hilda forced him out of the house so I would eat. I got better about a week later, and goodness gracious I couldn't stop laughing when I went to visit Cagney.
He got sick from me and was behaving like a child about it.
