Stolen kiss

Izuku Midoriya smiled, as the girl behind the counter handed him his coffee,

"Here you are sir. Enjoy."

"Thank you."

Now the problem was that all the tables seemed to be occupied. Izuku looked around, until he spotted a table in the back corner, where a blonde guy about his age was sitting alone.

Izuku headed in that direction, squeezing passed crowded tables, and apologizing as he bumped into people.

As he reached the table, Izuku paused, suddenly unsure of himself.

"U-umm, h-hi. I-is it okay if I-I join you?"

The man looked up from his sketchbook, and Izuku found himself staring into the most beautiful pair of Ruby red eyes.

"Uuh, oh. No, that's fine." The guy said, pulling out the chair right next to his.

"T-thank you." Izuku said, as he sat down, before taking a sip of his coffee.

They sat quietly for awhile, before Izuku glanced over at the man, and noticed that he was drawing a picture of him, with amazing detail.

"Wow." Izuku murmured, startling the blonde.

"Ah! I-it's n-nothing!" The guy hugged the sketchbook closer to his chest, as if afraid that Izuku might take it.

"Ah! I-I'm sorry!" Izuku cried, waving his arms frantically, not really sure what the feeling in his gut was.

"I-I'm sorry! I know I should've asked first! But the lighting was so perfect, and it r-really c-complimented your freckles!"

The blonde's face was bright red, as he stuttered out the end of his sentence, looking everywhere but Izuku's face.

"O-oh! I-it wasn't that. It's just... Your drawing looked amazing. I couldn't help but notice it. I'm sorry."

Izuku could feel his own face burning, as he started intently at his cup of coffee.

"D-do you want to see it? Properly, I mean." The man asked, looking at Izuku hesitantly.

"I-I would love that." Izuku said, shyly, and the blonde showed him the picture.

It was a picture of Izuku, in his coat, the tiniest if smiles on his face, as he gazed off into the distance. It was beautifully done, and the shading was gorgeous. Even though it was black and white, it felt alive, somehow.

"This is amazing..." Izuku said, taking in every detail of it.

"R-really?"

"Yes!" Izuku looked up at the man, beaming, "it's beautiful-, umm,"

"K-katsuki. Katsuki Bakugou."

The now named Bakugou, held out his hand, and Izuku took it,

"Izuku Midoriya."

They continued talking for a long time, both enjoying the others company.

Suddenly the bell above the door chimed, as someone opened it, letting in a soft swirl of snow.

Izuku glanced towards the sound, and froze, his smile sliding from his face.

A bubbly looking woman with light brown hair had just come in, holding hands with a dark haired man as they walked up to the counter. As they ordered their drinks, the man, Shishida, Izuku recalled, brushed a bit of the icy crystals off of the girl's shoulder.

Katsuki looked between Izuku and the couple, frowning slightly, as he took in the hurt and angry look on Izuku's face.

The two new arrivals grabbed their drinks, and turned to find somewhere to sit. As the woman caught Izuku's eye, the small statured man turned to katsuki, a forced smile on his face, as he made an obvious move to grab katsuki's hand which lay on the table in plain sight.

"W-what are you doing, Midoriya-san?" Katsuki asked, blushing furiously,

In response, Izuku let out a loud, forced laugh, and leaned closer to katsuki, gently taking the blonde's hand in both of his own,

"I'm sorry, Bakugou-san." Izuku whispered, glancing at the girl who was looking at them again.

Before katsuki could ask, Izuku kissed him.

It was an impulsive move and poorly planned. Yet... It felt... right.

As katsuki kissed Izuku back, the greenette's heart began to beat faster, and a feeling he had vowed never to feel again, came rushing to the surface.

The two man instinctively wrapped their arms around each other, pulling themselves closer together, as they moved in sync, their lips moving to allow for the other's.

As he pulled away, katsuki opened his eyes, and found himself staring into a beautiful pair of dark, richly colored eyes, that were set in the cute face, that was blushing softly.

"Your eyes... Are, green?" Katsuki asked, hoping he had it right.

"Y-yeah. Emerald." Izuku said, softly, knowing exactly what that meant.

He was Katsuki's soulmate.

Izuku pulled away, biting the inside of his lip.

"I-I'm sorry." He said, getting to his feet.

A confused katsuki watched as Izuku ran out the door, leaving his cold coffee. Katsuki managed to shake off his shock, and shoved his things into his bag, before chasing after his soulmate.

Izuku was almost to the end of the small street, as Katsuki rushed after him, stumbling in the snow, hoping to catch him.

Izuku walked quickly, so many feelings bubbling up inside of him. And the way he had acted! His face burned in shame, melting any snowflakes that made it past his fringe of wild curls.

He thought he had gotten over her. His soulmate. Yet the painful constraints in his chest, seemed to show otherwise.

"Wait! Midoriya-san!" Katsuki called, catching his sleeve.

Izuku turned towards the man who had followed him, unshed tears glistening in his emerald eyes.

"B-bakugo-San-"

He stopped, as Katsuki gently cupped Izuku's cheek in his hand, and wiped away his tears. They stood there several moments, their breath coming out in shimmering mist, in the cold winter air, before Katsuki suddenly leaned closer, closing his eyes, as their noses brushed together. Izuku closed his eyes as well, as their lips met once more.

Katsuki slipped his arm around Izuku's waist, pulling him closer, and Izuku wrapped his arms lightly around the taller man's neck, relishing their kiss inspite of himself. Neither seemed to notice the snow that gathered on their heads, nor the cold, that bit past their winter coats.

All they cared about was each other. And maybe that was how it was meant to be.

One heart broken, and half healed.

One heart yearning for that connection.

Each wondered if there even was such a thing as love. A deep, almost mythical feeling both had been denied.

And maybe there is no such thing as love.

Perhaps there is only attraction, and devotion. Like a bad idea met good intentions.

But... perhaps, just this once...

... They had found love.

...

...that ending made no sense, did it?

Oh well.

Hope you didn't hate it!
