Case 2B Part 2
Mangareader90 here! As always, I do not own Naruto. That series belongs to Masashi Kishimoto. I only own my candy...do not TOUCH my candy. Okay, enjoy my lovely readers!
"I'm still unsettled that I have to sit in the trunk. Do these things even have trunks?" I asked from the backseat.
"Of course. Sure, it will be highly uncomfortable, but we have one," Sasori responded. I groaned. At that moment I felt my phone buzzing in my pocket. I pulled my phone out, looking at the caller ID. It was unknown. Risking it, I answered the phone.
"Yo, this is Haley's number. If I don't know you, then why the heck are you calling me?" I asked. Silence ensued before a feminine voice responded.
"B*tch, I call who I want, when I want. However, you are NOT the b*tch I wanted to call. You sound pretty alright, though. The name's Lucy. I work at the forensics part of your job. And, I must say, I am a f***ing BOSS at my job, if I do say so myself. Anyway, I gotta call another b*tch. Tata, darling," Lucy hung up as instantly as she had called me.
"Who was it?" Sasori looked back at me, but I shrugged.
"I don't know, Sasori-senpai. She hung up as quickly as she called. She said something about working for the forensics department," I responded. I heard Kakuzu sigh.
"Yeah, everyone knows her. She's...an interesting person, that's for sure. She's the best d*mn person for her job, though, that's for sure," Kakuzu informed me.
"Yeah, she sounded pretty nice. I hope I can meet her one day, but between Sam and I, it's more likely that Sam will get to meet Lucy. So far, the things that I've done have not required forensic works of any kind," I commented.
"Well, it's not exactly the most fun thing to do," Kakuzu said. I didn't respond, choosing to instead stare out the window. We were passing by hills and cornfields. It was a peaceful setting.
"We'll be there soon," Sasori muttered. I stared at him from my spot in the backseat.
"What do you mean by that? If he's escaped, how would we know where he is?" I asked. Sasori turned to look at me, a smile on his face.
"Well, Zabuza is known for hanging out at shady places, specifically shady bars. He used to be a bartender for The Mist, a bar that was notorious for its fights. We're heading out there first to gather any and all information that we can on Zabuza," Sasori answered. I felt my face pale.
"If you're uncomfortable with this, you can wait in the car. However, it would still be uncomfortable because you'd be alone," Kakuzu warned. I sighed. It looked like I didn't have a choice.
"No, I'll be fine. It's just...being around all that liquor and alcohol...ugh. It's gonna make me sick," I sighed.
"You a former alcoholic?" Sasori asked.
"Not really, senpai. I just really hate it is all," I responded.
Throughout the rest of the trip we were silent, no one saying anything.

"Okay, we're here," Kakuzu announced, turning the car's ignition off. I got out of the vehicle, glancing around the area. It looked terrible.
"Don't worry, we're armed, so nothing is going to happen," Sasori commented. I just nodded. We stepped towards the bar, and I hesitated before following Sasori and Kakuzu inside. It was absolutely horrendous; everyone was either passed out, fighting, drinking, or playing pool. We received some glances as we entered the bar, and looking around, I was the only girl.
"Can I help you?" the bartender asked, eyeing all of us individually. When he caught my eye, I looked away. I couldn't stand it when people looked me in the eye. I heard a grunt come from the guy. "Good, keep doing that. People here love submission. You'll fit in perfectly."
I said nothing, leaving Sasori and Kakuzu to be the ones to do all of the talking. I only paid attention to half of the conversation that they had with the man. During the other half of the conversation I was looking around the room at the people that occupied it. I doubt there was a single one without a tattoo. It was at that moment of looking around that I thought I saw someone I knew. He caught me staring, and looked into my eyes. After a minute of staring at each other, he smiled and began to walk over.
"You know, if someone told me that I would see Haley here of all places, I would have beat the sh*t out of them for lying to my face. What's up? Why are you in a place like this, princess?" he asked. I scowled at him. This d*ck.
"Hello Derek. I want to say that it's good seeing you again, but then I would be lying," I said, smiling at him. His grin faltered for a bit, but it still remained on his face.
"Heh, you know, I just love how you avoid my questions on purpose. It's really great to be ignored. I'm sure you of all people would know that more than anyone, though," Derek retorted. I stopped smiling, choosing to simply stare at him. By this point I noticed that Kakuzu and Sasori had stopped talking to the bartender and were now glancing at me. Not wanting to distract them, I signaled for Derek to follow me outside, which he did.
"So, you jerk, you want answers, then you give answers. That sound fair?" I asked, pulling out a tape recorder. He stared at it, sneering at me.
"The h*ll you have that for? You some type of cop?" Derek asked. I smiled once again.
"No answers given until I have answers received," I commented.
"Then start asking, b*tch."
"Do you know Momoichi Zabuza?"
"Yes. Are you a cop?"
"Sort of. Have you ever been associated with Zabuza in the past?"
"Yes. What do you mean sort of?"
"I'm kind of in training. Are you still associated with Zabuza?"
"Not since he got caught. You still a goody-goody?"
"Yes. Do you have any leads as to where he may be now?"
"No, I thought he was in jail. If he is anywhere, though, he's most likely at his pad or tracking down that Hataka guy. However you say his name. Why are you here?"
"Getting information. One last question: Why were you associated with Zabuza in the past?"
"I was getting drugs from him. Information about what?"
"Zabuza."
I walked away before he could ask anymore questions, back to the police car. Sasori and Kakuzu were already waiting for me. I smiled slightly when I saw them, waving the tape recorder in my hand.
"What's that?" Sasori asked, pointing to the tape recorder. I smiled even wider.
"Our next clue to where he may be," I answered.
I hope Sam was having just as much luck as I was.
