Case 1B Part 1

*Manga's pov*

"I can walk," I told Kisame as he dragged me to a meeting room. He glanced at me, smirking and let go.

"Nice to know that you can use your legs," Kisame snickered. I rolled my eyes and followed him as he opened up the door. We both walked in and there was a man sitting down, reading some sort of packet. He looked up at Kisame and I and he sighed, placing the papers down.

"You two are late. Not a good first impression either newbie," the man looked at me when he said 'newbie' and I shifted a little.

"Hehe, sorry Sasori," Kisame smiled sheepishly at Sasori, rubbing his neck. A sign of nervousness or is it a sign of embarrassment?

"Sorry, it won't happen again," I promised.

"Make sure it doesn't. I hate being kept waiting. Now that you're here though, you might as well be of use," Sasori motioned me over and I walked towards the table. He handed me the papers he was looking at and I started skimming it.

"What's the case this time?" Kisame asked, peering over my shoulder.

"Don't you usually get things like these at least a day in advance?" I asked, looking at him.

"One thing you'll learn when working with us, is that Kisame here is one of the many people who procrastinates when they work," Sasori pointed at Kisame, smiling a little. Kisame glared at him in return and I smiled.

"Kisame-senpai doesn't take his job seriously then?" I asked. Kisame raised an eyebrow and grinned at me while Sasori shook his head.

"Oh great, another thing to add to his already enormous ego," Sasori sighed.

"Senpai? Does that make you my kouhai then Manga?" Kisame asked. Sasori looked at me like I grew another head.

"Your name is really Manga?" Sasori asked and I already felt myself getting red. Thank you Sam.

"N-no! It's a nickname I got from Sam because I didn't want to go partying when I could just stay in the dorm and read," I explained. Sasori nodded.

"That's understandable. Well then Manga, I hope you can keep up with us," Sasori grinned at me and I smiled.

"Of course I can Sasori-senpai. Sam and I graduated at the top of our class for a reason," I told him.

"Good, then you'll be of use. Let's get back to the subject at hand though," Sasori nodded.

"Right. Well, the situation deals with a stolen identity, so it can be a little tricky and we won't have time to mess up on this case. The victim appears to be a female who works at a mall, so she won't have a lot of money left if this keeps happening," I explained the situation, continuing to skim through the papers.

"How serious is the situation then, kouhai?" Kisame asked, snickering at my new nickname. I sighed.

"Well Kisame-senpai, apparently the identity thief has spent $10,000 already, and it's only been a week, I informed, causing Kisame to become serious.

"So basically if this keeps going on then the victim will become broke?" Sasori asked. I nodded.

"D***, that's not good," Kisame sighed, running a hand through his hair.

"Yeah, that's why we're looking into it, my plan is-" I heard my phone ring and I sighed. Only four people had my phone number: My boss, my parents, my brother, and Sam.

"Go ahead and answer it," Kisame shrugged, looking at the information again.

"You've already done more studying on this case than Kisame has anyways and you're new. Just don't take too long, I hate being kept waiting," Sasori nodded to me and Kisame sent him an irritated glare.

"Don't go and ruin my image with this one Sasori. She still respects me a little," Kisame joked and he and Sasori started looking at the papers again while I answered the phone.

"Hello?" I asked.

"Hello? Hello?! D***mit Manga!! I came home to grab a bite to eat and the only f***ing things in here are diet crap! What the f*** happened to the junk food anyways?!" Sam yelled into the phone.

"Hello Sam. I told you I was dieting, so I replaced all the junk food, I responded.

"So I have to suffer because you're dieting?! That's f***ing cruel and you know it!" Sam yelled.

"Remember how you burned my creepypasta drawings because they gave you the creeps?" I asked.

"I could f***ing feel them staring at me!! And you aren't supposed to hang them in THE F***ING LIVING ROOM!!! Besides this is different!! This is f***ing food!! And....oh my gosh...WHAT THE F*** DID YOU DO TO MY CUPCAKES?! Sam yelled. Kisame and Sasori looked over to give me a 'What the f*** is going on' look, but I waved them off.

"I have to go Sam, this case is important," I told her.

"THIS CONVERSATION IS NOT OVER!! D***mit Manga, I just came to take a break from a jacka** of a boss, I just need a little junk food to help me, can you at least tell me if you hid them somewhere?" Sam pleaded and I sighed.

"You know that place in the pantry where you can't see anything but you can still put stuff there?" I asked.

"Are they in there?!?!" Sam asked, happy.

"No, they're in the dumpster. Okay, bye," I smiled to myself. This is revenge for making me have a nickname all throughout college which earned snickers and stares....yeah, great friend I have. She knows I hate partying.

"The f***?! You better sleep with one eye open toni-" I hung up the phone before she could finish the sentence and sighed. I'll have to work overtime tonight, Sam's revenges were usually really bad.

"What did Party Girl want?" Kisame asked, amusement in his voice.

"Oh nothing important. Let's get back to the case," I smiled.

"I'm assuming Party Girl is this Sam girl?" Sasori asked. I nodded.

"That reminds me, can I work overtime? She seems to be upset," I asked.

"Overtime from a newbie? Huh, that's new," Sasori stated.

"Sure Manga-kouhai, anything for my kouhai, because senpai's always look out for their kouhai's," Kisame responded and Sasori pinched the bridge of his nose.

"She called me Sasori-senpai too you idiot. She's just respecting how we're higher ranking than her of right now," Sasori explained, but Kisame ignored him.

"Kisame-senpai will also work overtime with his kouhai so that the case can go by faster!" Kisame proclaimed.

"I'm the first person to call him senpai aren't I?" I asked Sasori.

"Most of the newbies that we've had either haven't lasted long enough to meet us, were extremely rude, or always called Kisame fish face," Sasori explained.

"I feel bad for Kisame-senpai," I sighed.

"Right....feel bad for him all you want, it's not going to help his damaged brain any," Sasori replied bluntly.

"Hey! My brain is not damaged!" Kisame countered.

"You two sure do argue a lot," I told them. They both looked at each other before laughing.

"Sasori and I go way back, everyone here does! We all went to the same college," Kisame explained, throwing a hand around Sasori.

"Teasing each other helps us remember that we don't hate each other," Sasori explained.

"Anyways, didn't you say you had a plan kouhai?" Kisame asked.

"That's my new nickname isn't it?" I sighed.

"Are you going to keep calling me senpai?" Kisame asked, raising an eyebrow.

"......yes," I sighed.

"Then that's your new nickname!!" Kisame grinned.

"What is your plan though Manga?" Sasori asked.

"Well, I thought that we could......" I started explaining my plan and when I finished I couldn't help but thinking how Sam was doing at her job.
