She walked until she saw the familiar, bright green door of the hiking room. She stopped in front of it so suddenly that Flametail accidentally head butted Pearl in the leg. "Oh you're so silly." Whispered Pearl into Flametails ear. She grasped the handle and turned it until she could push the door open. Pearl stepped inside with Flametail and closed the door. Suddenly a blast of wind knocked her to the ground. "Steady there," a familiar voice said, "the wind here is really strong and randomly comes." Pearl looked up and saw Thorns face looking down at her. "Thanks Thorn." "You're welcome. I see you found the free stuff." "Yeah." "Well, lets get climbing." Thorn shouted over the wind as he started climbing the rocky slope." "Coming." Pearl shouted back. She raced towards the trail and jumped over a big rock. "You're actually pretty good." Complimented Thorn from the rock above her. Pearl suddenly felt a shock of pain coming from her feet while jumping to the next rock. "Ow." Pearl shouted as she toppled to the ground. "Pearl are you okay?" Thorn asked. "I'm not sure." She replied. "What happened." "I was jumping up to there," she said pointing at the next rock, "and then my feet started hurting a lot. Can we do this another day?" "I guess, but look at Flametail, he's actually trying to fly." Pearl looked over at Flametail and saw him flapping his little set of feathery wings, and actually managing to come a few inches off the ground. "You can stay here with him." "I can't, only the owner can help their creature with flying." "Then what do I do." "Head back to your dorm." "I guess. But how do I get down? My foot still hurts you know."
"Well first we should take a look at it." "Okay, I'll take off my shoes and socks." Pearl took them off and screamed in terror. "What's wrong?" Thorn asked. "My feet are blue and scaly." "Oh. Your transformation is taking shape again." "What do you mean again." "Well for those who are implanted with genetic mutation, their parts of body's start to transform. Your first transformation was the horns, now it's the feet." "Okay that's weird. But what can we do." "Well we wait. You can sleep if you want. I'm not sure where, but somehow you will." "Do you have something comfy." "No, but you have Flametail." "I guess." Pearl whistled for Flametail to come lay down. "Also, just to let you know, your feet transformation will also include your legs." "Um, okay." She laid her head on top of Flametails soft body and closed her eyes. "It's lights out anyway, so goodnight Pearl." "Goodnight Thorn." "Oh one last thing." Pearl opened one eye and asked, "what." "It might be a good idea to take your pants off." "Wait what!" "It's just so that you don't get stuck in them in the morning after your transformation." "Fine." Pearl slowly took her pants off and pulled a spare sweater from her bag. She covered the top area of her waist with it. "Okay goodnight." "Night princess." She closed her eyes again and heard Thorns footsteps jump down to the door, rock after rock. He turned off the light and closed the door. After there was silence and Pearl quickly fell asleep.
