Welcome
Intro:
Hello everyone, I'm Crystal, and welcome to my page! Here you'll find out stuff about me, my writing journey, and other stuff that was most likely mentioned in a tag somewhere among the many I've done. So, let's get started.
I've been in the writing game for quite some time now, so here's a little insight about myself. History is something I've always been fascinated with, especially as a child. The moment I discovered Newsies was the day that forever changed me and brought me to the start of my writing journey. Though I'll admit, I was never a fan of writing when I was younger. (Obviously that's changed). I decided to try something out for the heck of it, and now years later it's become something I never imagined it would be.
About me:
I'm an INFJ, 4w5, Taurus, and a Hufflepuff with some Ravenclaw traits. I'm a very creative person, but can't draw/paint for the life of me. Turing into a bit of a book nerd. Anti-social armadillo that spends her time fangirling over fictional characters. Major shipper of the ships I love. Umm....oh yeah, a hopeless romantic that crushes on fictional characters.
As mentioned before I'm a bit of a history nerd. So yes, I did read a lot of the American girl books when I was younger. I loved watching the reruns of Liberty Kids growing up (and yes that's one of my favorite points in history). But....I'm not a fan of Hamilton. I like a few songs...but that's it. I watched the musical pro shot but couldn't get into it for the life of me *shrugs*.
I don't send hate to people, nor do I hold anything against anyone unless someone has wronged me. So to say the least I'm a fairly chill person. Just don't ask about the more personal parts of my life that I haven't already given out and we're good. Boundaries is important people. For the most part, I'm pretty much open to chat about Newsies or any other of my fandoms. What I don't do is follow for follow, vote, for vote, etc.
Anything else you possibly could learn about me is in the millions of tags I did.
Stuff about my writing
I take lots of inspiration from quotes, songs, little parts of myself, and forgotten memories that float around my brain. You don't have to worry about anything dark and or angsty happening here since it's something I'm not comfortable with. However anything that involves fluff, chaos, or just all around sweet siblings moments, happens all the time here. Along with some other stuff for plot sake.
I'm not a request person. Once in a blue moon maybe I'll make some announcement that I will be taking requests for a certain thing I'm writing. Though most of the time I end up getting inspo from random comment treads in my stuff. Smut is a big no no here. The most I'll ever do is a kiss scene but even then I tend to keep it light. As mentioned before dark/angst is also another huge Nope. Can't write it, can't read it. Fight scenes always focus on the emotional impact rather than actual violence. To this day there's ever only been two physical fights in two of my books.
Swearing? Yeah no, not here. "hell" is the strongest I've gone. Darn was like one time. Though I will admit I can see one of my OCs swearing often but I don't let her lol. And last but not least, slash (so yes Newsie x Newsie cause I see them as a band of brothers and nothing more). It'll never be found here. I don't write it, I don't read it, this is my personal preference I ask no one to ask me to ever do either of these. If that's what you like then fine, it's your life. What you do/like doesn't bother me, so what I like/do shouldn't bother you.
So I guess you could say I'm stuff is suitable for young ages in a way. K+ is what I rate my stuff on FFN but as I told a good friend on here "I highly doubt a nine year old is reading fanfic" but if there are nine year olds reading my stuff then hey, just remember if something you don't like shows up you were the one to read it.
My Fanfic Journey:
I was never found of anything to do with words as a child. In fact, I hated it. But when I found out what fanfic was, and after reading some stuff, I decided to give it a whirl for the heck of it. At the time, I was doing as something fun for myself, and I still do it to this day, but when people started getting invested in a way I never thought they would, it suddenly became something I would share a small part of myself with them. Though, before that, I told myself, if nobody ended up liking this, or if I only had one reader, I would still go through with the blue print plan I had made. Which was to write four books. I even had the names already planned out and what would happen, to a certain extent. One shots, I figured would come about when the time came.
I started out on FFN. Managed to get out two books, and many other one shots before bringing my stuff to Wattpad. Note that I did have Wattpad, but was posting...other newsie related stories. At first, I wanted to keep my two worlds separate. But after awhile I decided to bring something that I already knew was solid over here because it was a sense of familiarity, and I had already been thinking about doing that before. And in doing so, I found someone who I am grateful to call a friend (if she's reading this, she knows who she is). I didn't think I'd become that close to someone online, I'd always been warry of strangers IRL and online. But she was the first person I was comfortable to talking with.
With that being said, in the next year or so I would soon post Strike. What I have to say was probably a highly anticipated one due to the one shots leading up to that, and what I considered my strongest writing. All the while I was getting ideas write about a young Feister and how she became a newsie. I had already planned on doing that, it was just something I knew I had to wait until both my writing got stronger, and I understood her more. Everything else just flowed from there. Saying the least, I'm always several steps ahead of what you're already reading.
My Fandoms:
Most are listed in my bio. But here's a rundown with even more that aren't listed/were but taken down. Plus s more in-depth understanding of my fangirl ways.
Newsies: been a fan since August 24th 2017. The reason why I remember that date so well is cause it was the day it closed on Broadway. I'm mad at my younger self for not getting into it sooner cause I could've seen it on tour. And I REMEMBER seeing it on the Thanksgiving Parade and thinking it was cool along with that mini Disney Channel segment.
Cimorelli: been a strong Cim Fam since 2013. So....after Made in America came out but before Renegade.
Star Wars (plus the tv shows...TCW, Rebles, Mando, Etc): believe it or not I wasn't a Star Wars fan until Rebels came out. I turned on the tv, my dad asked what was playing, I said some Star Wars show and it took off from there. But all in all TCW is where my heart lays. Bad batch is cool too but,...TCW.
Divergent: the most recent fandom I got into. Wanted to read the books. Watched the movie and all I gotta say is the first book/movie along with the fourth book is the best. We don't talk about the third book here but the movie is alright.
Big Time Rush: I'm an og fan. Watched the tv show and movies when it first came out. I say this because Netflix got it recently and it started randomly trending a few months ago. The only boy band I will ever genuinely enjoy, even though I didn't know they were actually a band until recently.
Miraculous: yeah I know. But trust me it's not just a kid show. The deeper meaning of it all is pretty cool. And umm....Marichat will forever be my favorite part of the love square. The balcony scene. Ugh. Season two hit all the right spots.
Harry Potter: again. Read the books. Watched the movies. The third part of the series is my personal favorite. For some reason even when I just knew the titles of the books that POA had always drawn me in.
Power Rangers: a long time running fandom of mine. No. No I didn't finish the latest season (Dino Fury) cause honestly the direction it was going is just so meh. Best Morphers should've been the end of it all. As fifty fifty as it was; I have to say it ended on a good note. I've got a whole PR ranking rant if anyone wants to see that. It's two parts bottom ten and top ten.
Winx Club the Nickelodeon version: (so...season 1 - 6 to be exact. Listen, we don't talk about season 7 and beyond here. Especially the live action remake.) this played right before Power Rangers back in the day and my younger self absolutely lived for it. My favorite season? Beyond believix. Yeah I know that's just about the most hated season among the fandom. Better yet the Nickelodeon is the most hated on period. But that's what I grew up on and what I loved the most. I've tried watching the other two versions but oh my gosh I cannot survive the voice acting
Chicken Girls season 1 - 6 and the movie ONLY!: oh this drove me absolutely insane ever Tuesday night. I only, genuinely enjoyed the the first two seasons and the movie. Season 3 is where things really took a turn. I've erased season 4 from my mind. 5 was a roller coaster but at least it ended on a good note. And season 6 should've been rebranded as a spin off since whatever was remaining of the OG cast left.
Off-Campus: Yes I did learn about this series because of booktok. Knew I was going to love it from the get-go, and when I went to B&N with the intent to get Hunger games. I didn't expect to find it there since the website said they didn't have it in store. Ended up loving it more than I thought I was going too. The Deal and The Mistake are perfection. Garret is an absolute king, and Logan is such a sweet heart. *suddenly realizes what I like in a guy* So yeah.
Most stuff from Disney Channel from....2011 to 2017-ish. Of course Disney movies. I would say my ships, but all the ones I do are in my bio so we'll skip that.
If there are any questions they can be asked here.
So with that being said this concludes the welcome post. Thank you for taking the time to read this. If you already know me and read this well, you know a little more about me as well. The next part will include stuff about my books in a way, but it'll mostly be OC based.
Crystal.
