First Year,
Her Own Little World
Phoebe planned to spend the remainder of her days avoiding Rhea, she didn't want to be on the opposite side of her anger. She had quite the temper when she wanted to, she spotted Cedric heading to the library it had been a while since she had talked to him.
She kept a watchful eye out for Rhea, the chances of her being in the library were slim but not impossible. She spotted him looking through the books, she took a deep breath as she approached him as confidently as her body would allow it.
"Hey," she said, tapping his elbow
"Hi, are you okay?"
"Yes, why wouldn't I be?" she questioned
"I just thought, with you being quiet in class and looking like you're avoiding the entire school, that there might be something bothering you,"
"Oh, thank you for being concerned, I just want to get used to everything first, the stairs the changing, class schedules and the perfect route to get there on time,"
"Ah, I memorised them pretty quickly, you studying or reading?"
"Bit of both, you?"
"Studying, transfiguration, more difficult than I thought,"
"Do you want any help?" she offered,
"Sure," she looked at his books,
"Well for starters you don't want these books, they're way too advanced for what we're learning," she scanned the shelves for the appropriate books, she handed him three books while she carried another three.
They studied quietly together for a little over 45 minutes, only really talking when they had questions about their work. Madam Pince made her way around the library looking for a student that had snuck inside to hide from McGonagall.
"How's your sister?" Cedric asked
"Erm, I assume she's fine,"
"It didn't look like she was, I saw her limping away from the courtyard,"
"Yeah, prank gotten out of hand, I've told her too many times that she'll hurt herself one day," he chuckled at her
"I take it she's like that at home too,"
"Like you wouldn't believe,"
"I'm heading to the Quidditch pitch, I'm going to watch Hufflepuff Train, would you like to come,"
"Quidditch isn't really my thing,"
"Okay, well, I'll see you in class," she nodded, smiling as her left the library.
She couldn't avoid her sister forever they would be going home soon and the last thing she wanted was to have an awkward Christmas. At she knew Gryffindor didn't have practice, there were only a few select places where Rhea would hang out.
She spotted them the Weasley Twins. She knew her sister would want to get her revenge, she hurried to catch up to them, hoping where they were Rhea would be, she bumped into an older student, she quickly apologised as she turned about around she bumped into one of them.
"Why are your arms so freakishly long?" Rhea said, causing one of the twins, to look at her.
"They're not, they're-" he looked down at her, his sleeves dangled over her hands, "just roll up your sleeves, you fool," as he rolls up his sleeves for her, she laughs he cups her face kissing her tenderly.
"Hello, earth to Black?" he waved in her face
"Sorry, I was wondering if you knew where my sister was," she asked, he creased his brows
"Why would I know?"
"I just thought maybe you would never mind, sorry I bothered you," she said, quickly walking past them
"She was nice, why'd you have to be rude?" she heard one of them say, she hoped to figure out who was who soon.
She found Laura, walking with her brother Ethan, she hurried towards the pair, lingering behind, waiting for them to finish their conversation. She didn't want to appear rude by listening in, Ethan turned around smiling at her, he held his arm out she hurried over to them hugging him.
"You alright, Laura told me what happened with Rhea," she nodded
"Rhea can hold a grudge, I'm hoping she'll forgive me,"
"Of course she will, you know what she's like she talks before she thinks," Laura said, she and Ethan nodded agreeing with her, "She probably realised what happened wasn't your fault,"
"Do you know where she is?" she asked,
"Detention I think,"
"What did she do this time?" Ethan asked
"She was bad talking Snape, not realising that Snape was standing right behind her," Laura told them, they smirked, only imagining what she might have said "Believe me he did not look impressed,"
"Alright, I guess I'll see her later," Phoebe said, leaving the two siblings she sighed.
Even if Quidditch wasn't her thing she did know a lot about Quidditch, growing up with an uncle like James Potter she learned to be a Quidditch supporter. She made her way to the Quidditch stand, she waved up at Cedric he smiled as she made stumbled up the stairs he chuckled.
"I thought you didn't think you liked Quidditch," he said,
"No I said, it wasn't my thing, I'd rather read my book than watch quidditch, but it's good to be a supporter," she told him, he shook his head she smiled at her cousin's friend, unaware she was on the Hufflepuff team.
"I'm hoping to play next year,"
"What position?"
"Seeker hopefully," she eyed him, he seemed too tall to play seeker, then again he knew the game better than her.
"That's got to be a hard position to get, I mean there can only be one seeker right?"
"Yeah, I'm going to be practising this summer,"
"I'll help any way I can," she offered, he smiled at her,
In some ways he enjoyed her company, she was always kind and sweet. Though she seemed to be lost in her own little world most of the time like her mind was doing neverending loops of the same thing and her brain was trying to figure out the meaning.
He'd help her figure them out if she let him into her world.
