Twenty-Nine

Second Year,
Incredible.

"Maybe we should tell them, that Peeves is really the one who sorts them," Rhea suggested, the two sisters had been trying to think of ways to taunt their younger brothers, when they made their way to Hogwarts, only the summer to go.

"Good, I like it, but what if we tell them that the sorting Hat shows their most embarrassing memories,"

"Oh yes, Pheebs, that's the one, can you imagine Carden, he'll be questioning everything when he walks through the hall," they laughed as they tried to picture their brothers entering the Great Hall.

"I don't want to mess with Hadrian too much," she admitted.

"Why not?"

"Because if he is in Slytherin like I saw then he'll need comfort not teasing,"

"I suppose, how are you so sure he'll be in Slytherin?" Rhea questioned, even if she told her many times she told her again.

"Every vision I've seen of him at school, he's always wearing Slytherin robes and ties-

"He still might not be, you never know maybe things can change,"

"I doubt he's wearing them for fun," Phoebe said, she shrugged her shoulders agreeing with her.

"I guess so, I should probably find Lee,"

"Is everything alright?" she asked almost everyone in the school had noticed her lack of pranks and lack of company with the Weasley twins.

"Yes, I'm fine, can't wait to be home, to be honest with you, I'll see you later,"

She decided not to push Rhea on the incident that caused her avoidance of her best friends. She hoped her sister might open up to her about it then maybe she could help her. Phoebe chose to spend her final few days at Hogwarts with her favourite Hufflepuffs though it seemed Laura had other plans.

She sat in the study hall tutoring, Higgs and Warrington. She searched for Cedric having no luck anywhere she searched then she had an idea. She hid between two pillars holding her crystal ball she focused on Cedric hoping to conjure something. Anything.

"Right, that will be all if you can't practise over the summer don't worry, just do what you can,"

The Hufflepuff Quidditch team, returned to the changing rooms, after their captain Louisa Parker had given them their pointers for next year's tryouts.

"Okay, he should be practising right now," she said out loud to herself.

"Who should be practising?" Pucey teased, she straightened her posture.

"Shouldn't you be studying with Laura," she questioned

"Why should I? Higgs is her friend, not me," she looked around, shoving past him, "Where are you going freak?"

She pushed his taunting comments to the back of her mind, making her way to the Quidditch Stadium, it must have been the last training session for the year. Surely they'd need to pack their trunks unless they had already done it. She waited by the changing rooms, Louisa left after wishing her fellow teammates a great summer.

"Hey," she waved at Cedric, her smile brightening the already sunny day.

"Hi, are you packed yet?" she shook her head, "maybe I could help, I did mine yesterday,"

"That'd be great," she hooked her arm with his, as they made their way to her dorm room, she bit her lip when she spotted Adrian again. She kept her head down as they walked past him.

"There's the freak, have a vision did you?"

"You don't have to believe her, but you don't ever make fun of her," Cedric warned the Slytherin boy,

"You can't seriously believe her crazy ramblings-

"She's not crazy," his voice turned cold as he defended her honour, Adrian smirked at her as he left them alone.

"You didn't need to do that,"

"I don't care, you have an incredible gift, don't let anyone make you feel ashamed of it," she rested her head on his shoulder.

"Thank you, I'm going to see you over the summer aren't I?"

"You'll have to wait and see,"

The time to leave came sooner than she thought, Rhea still hadn't been seen with either Weasley boys. She wondered what she could do to help them, they were good friends to her sister and she always seemed to have the most fun with them. On her way to the station, she could have sworn someone was calling her name, she turned around looking for a familiar face, she shrugged her shoulders when she didn't see anyone.

"Phoebe," she turned around again, spotting one of the twins, she still hadn't worked out how to tell them apart she would have to ask Rhea.

"Oh hi, erm,"

"George,"

"George, sorry, I still haven't figured out how to tell you apart yet,"

"It's fine, have you by any chance spoken to Rhea," she shook her head, "I don't know what happened between her and Fred but they won't talk, I've tried everything, pranks won't bring them together, even messing with the Slytherin's isn't working,"

"I'm sorry, Rhea hasn't mentioned anything," he nodded walking away from her, "If I find anything out, I could tell you," she smiled at him.

"Thank you, that'd be great,"

Maybe she could find out what happened, then help George. It must have been harder, having your brother and best friend fighting. She was grateful that Cedric got along with her family, she wouldn't know what to do if Rhea couldn't get along with him.

She owed it to George to try and find out what happened and hopefully, find a way to make them see that a fight isn't truly worth ruining a friendship. At least that's what she assumed they had a fight and their stubbornness had prevented them from making up sooner.
