Fourteen

First Year,
Trust Your Visions.

The last week seemed to be the longest, the morning announcements dragged on, then again Dumbledore was an old wizard. Maybe he needed more time to speak. As soon as she finished her breakfast she didn't waste any time she had left before her exams, she hurried to the Owlery, hoping she had received a letter from Grammy.

"Maybe we should just stay friends?" she heard, her cousin say. Louisa seemed to agree with him.

"I think we're better off as friends, I'd hate to lose you," Ethan laughed, as he hugged her.

"What are you doing?" Oliver asked, she looked up at him, lost for words.

"I felt dizzy so I stood still for a moment," she said, he creased his brows at her.

"I'll take you Madam Pomfrey,"

"No, I need to go to the Owlery," she quickly spoke, he offered to walk her there to be safe, "what are the odds of my sister getting on the Quidditch team?" she asked, knowing he and Ethan were huge Quidditch fans.

"Is she good?"

"Ethan says she is,"

"She'll have to try out next year, though I don't know who's going to be captain, Weasley is graduating, so depending on who is chosen,"

"What if it's you?"

"Then, I hope she does well," as they reached the top of the Owlery, he watched her walk, checking she was alright. "You going be okay if I leave, I've got an exam soon,"

"Yeah, thank you," he smiled at her as he left.

She checked there wasn't a lot of post. It wasn't surprising, everyone would be home in a week, there was no need to send a letter now. She found a letter addressed to her, she took a deep breath, hoping to have some idea of what would be written inside.

Dear Phoebe

Firstly, your mother told me you have been fighting with Rhea and Laura. I do hope none of the fights are through your visions. Secondly, Aberforth had never once given me a reason for me to doubt his opinion of Seers, with that being said, I wasn't comfortable with others close to him knowing, that included his brother and sister.

I'd trust your instinct, you said your vision was positive trust that. There's never a right time sweetheart, I wish there was. Honestly, I think you'll find that once you've told him, that it wasn't such a big issue and that he's perfectly fine, no different with you.

Trust your visions, they'll keep you safe,

Love, Grammy

In the days leading up to returning home, she had battled with her decision to tell Cedric of her seer ability. In the end, she decided to tell him, he had been nothing but kind to her and she couldn't see that changing any time soon.

She checked her trunk, making sure she hadn't forgotten anything, as soon as she knew she hadn't forgotten anything she made her way to Hogsmeade station. She anxiously waited for Cedric so they could board the train together.

"Phoebe," he called, she smiled wrapping her arms around him, "shall we board the train now?" she nodded

She would have waited for Laura and Rhea, however, with the number of arguments they had been having she didn't want to sit in silence on the train ride home. As they sat waiting for the train to leave the station she worked up the courage to speak.

"I wanted to tell you something,"

"Go ahead,"

"Okay, well I'm... I'm... I'm going to have a lot of free time, over the summer, I thought we could see each other,"

"Oh, yeah, it'll be fun to hang out with you,"

She smiled at him, she excused herself, to buy some sweets from the trolley lady. She sighed once she was out of his sight, 'for merlin's sake, why can't I say it,' she thought. She bought some sweets for her and Cedric, as she made her way back, she smiled at him.

"I didn't know what you liked, so I got a mix of things," she handed him some sweets, as two boys from Hufflepuff joined them, they talk mainly about quidditch.

Phoebe didn't mind she took a book out to read for the rest of the journey. She needed to work up to courage to tell him, it couldn't be a terrible thing for him to know. She spotted her dad standing on the platform, she walked out of their compartment she carefully placed her book in her bag.

"Pheebs, are you okay?" Cedric asked, she nodded he cocked his brow unconvinced. "Phoebe?"

"I'm fine, I just tired," she smiled at him.

"Are you sure, it seemed like you wanted to tell me something important,"

"Yeah, I'm sure, my father's waiting for me," he nodded, as they walked off the train he hugged her, "I hope to see you during the summer,"

"Yeah, I might be going to the world cup, you could come with me if you like, I know it's not your thing, but it might still be fun," she smiled at him.

"I'll see what my family have planned," she waved him goodbye, while she waited beside her father for Laura and Rhea to finish saying their goodbyes. Ethan stood with them, desiring to get home and take a nap like he did every time he returned home.

"Ready to go home," Sirius asked, the three girls hadn't glanced at each other once, "Okay then,"

As soon as they returned home, her younger brothers Carden and Hadrian stopped upon seeing the cold distance between their sisters and cousin. They took it upon themselves to talk to Ethan instead as the girls didn't seem in any way excited about talking to them.
