Goodbye

Ginny jolted awake. Her vision was blurry, and, upon further inspection, she was crying. Tears dripped down her face as she silently cried.

She had been having this nightmare for months. She could still see her family dead when she closed her eyes. She could hear Tom congratulating her on her kill as she stared at her family's corpses. Shakely, the redhead wiped her tears away. Taking a deep breath, she got to her feet.

Quickly and quietly she moved across the room to her door and down the stairs. Silently, she made her way into the kitchen. She was so absorbed in her thoughts, she didn't realize someone was already in the kitchen.

“George?” She whispered, adjusting to the bright light of the kitchen. The tall redhead jumped, dropping whatever was in his hand before turning around.

Her older brother looked like a deer caught in headlights. Blood was dripping down his arm and onto the floor, her brother's blood. Ginny was awake now.

“You cut yourself,” She said shakily. George looked like she was going to cry. Ginny had never seen her brother cry since the funeral.

“George tell me it was an accident,” Ginny said, voice boarding hysterical. Ginny was shaking, her eyes burning with tears.

“George….” She said in a small voice. “Please….”

And now George was crying. “I-I can't Gin-Gin,” She let out a sob, burying her head in his shoulder.

“I can't lose you, too,” Ginny whispered into his shoulder, her hands gripping the back of his shirt.

“I don't want him in my heart,” George whispered, “I want him here….It hurts Gin,” George whimpered at the end, and Ginny’s heart broke.

“I know,” She sobbed, ”I know,”  pulling back to examine his arm. Scars she had never seen before covered his arm. With shaking hands, Ginny cast a healing spell, but the scars were still there.

“It hurts Gin,” George repeated, and Ginny agreed. It hurt so much.
